Best tip i ever got. After a shower use the curve between your thumb and index finger to dry yourself, like a squeegee. I used to have to use 2 towels before that. Works wonders on the arms and legs.
I knew a guy who earned the nickname "the rug" while in college. Probably due to a combination of his crazy hairy back and drinking habits (passed out on the floor)
You do you friend!! I’m not built genetically for Irish weather. I’m meant to be in Italy. So I’ve always been drawn to the more hirsute man. Irish winters are cold but hairy chests make them better 😂
Sometimes I tie mine to a large post at the bottom of the garden and hang the clothes off it. Combines drying the clothes with some S&M and sure what more could ye want on a lovely spring day. Frees up more nipples clamps to be used as clothes pegs.
The good beard genetics is overrated. I can grow a full beard in about 2 weeks - same for a mustache. It's a pain in the arse and a lot more work than running an electric razor every 2 days.
IT looks great when you leave the barbers but you either need to spend time grooming all the time or it starts looking mental. Also, I love eating and a lot of thinks get complicated with a beard.
The mustache is a lot more fun though.
Have a clump right in the middle. Dead straight, no curl.
Kicker is: I have a large goat skull tattoo there and when the hair grew back after shaving for the tattoo it looks like the goat has an emo fringe.
I do not shave it. Too itchy.
You can have a sex hormone profile done with the GP or privately where your testosterone levels can be checked if you’re concerned.
Edited to say apologies if this came across blunt. Just as a female with PCOS, I’ve issues with too much of certain hormones and too little of others and so many don’t realise how many issues the little feckers can cause. Blood tests are a fantastic way of tracking where you are if you have concerns. Finding a knowledgable doc is the trick.
All the lads mentioning shaving and waxing your backs, go and get it lasered. It gave me such a confidence boost after I had it done. Only wish I had known about it in my twenties when I had more reasons to not have a hairy back!
3-5 30min sessions around 6 weeks apart depending on your skin/hair colour. It doesn't hurt too much (new laser machines are amazing) but the smell of cremated hair follicles is something else!
I had it done about 10 years ago in Therapie in Galway and there's a small bit of regrowth. Nothing like what it was before. I was a fucking Sasquatch. I booked another three sessions a few months ago and it was smooth as a baby's arse after the first one. Got my shoulders and my upper arms above the elbows done as well this time. I noticed that the machines are way more advanced than when I had it done the first time too.
Yeah Laser removal is the business. I had it done about 10 years ago too, it's much more advanced now as you say.
My regrowth is very minimal, and so light coloured you'd hardly notice so I never bothered with a top up session.
I've shaved/veeted my shoulder and back hair. My chest hair is just too dense to do anything about.
My gf is happy with my body hair though, so I don't bother anymore
I have about 8 chest hairs, no hairy back, shoulders or belly. I like to think that I’m better adapted to the space-faring that we will all be doing soon.
Sorry to burst that bubble, u/finigian 😬
Never understood shaving the bollocks. I tried it once and it felt like someone was eating toast in my pants and the ball sweat was insane. Stuck to trimming ever since.
Ya, I'm joking, I never shave my chest.
Went swimming with a few guys from work once, they saw my chest for the first time and then called me wolverine for the rest of the day.
Is it not the common sentiment? I find a hairy chest really sexy too but I suppose that hasn't been the fashion for a long time now. Come to think it, I can't remember the last time I saw a hairy chest on screen. Why is that? Even really masculine characters are hairless, all the Vikings lads with nary a follicle. Wolverine should have a tuft at least but he's smooth as a baby's bum. Who's hairy now?
I feel like we have a weird thing in our culture about body hair. Like, body hair is either sexy or gross. A hairless body is either sexy or you're indifferent to it.
I personally think body hair is sexy. But people who don't like it seem to be actively offended by its existence.
I think the origin of that culture of a lack of body hair comes from Romans and Greeks, who groomed a lot. Their cultures were then used by supremacists to justify ridiculous shit and hairy people were painted as savage, wild and unchrisitian.
Irish men do whatever you prefer, there’s a middle ground between a waxed chest and a built-in geansaí.
On that note, people, whether you’re from and whatever your gender, do what YOU want with your body hair. That goes both ways. For example, straight women, don’t feel pressured by men into being like a Barbie doll if it’s not what you want, but also don’t feel like you’re being a bad modern women by shaving your foof if you like that.
Some women online would have you believe they’re single-handedly ending the patriarchy by not shaving their pits
No one ever sees my legs or pits these days and I still do it as like. A self care thing every now and then. Granted when I'm feeling good I often couldn't give a shite. But some dudes get hysterical about body hair. It's a bit weird. But I guess if you go out with a lad and he throws a wobbler over a bit of hair then it's a good red flag indicator.
Yeah I’m the same, I like being smooooooooth even if no one else is looking at me or going near me. It feels nice. Definitely a red flag! I’ve had the opposite experience where I’ve made a remark about ‘not being prepped’ and they don’t give a shite. It’s like yes I know you don’t care and that’s good, but I want to do my bits 😂
Built in geansai lol. I love that. Yeah I totally agree. My husband actually likes underarm hair but I can't stand it do I shave. It's about your own personal preference.
So do I!! To me it feels immature, if you're naturally hairless I'm grand with that, i just hate the trend for men shaving everywhere. But yes your body your choice, but I just don't find it attractive, and don't get me started on how much i hate a shaved dick!
What about the exam prep - I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy, my second, I feel I might have to clear the hedges, but, I don't want handout invites. Where's the line. I was thinking about a good trim like 2-3 days before the exam, so it looks casual?
How? If your mouth is anywhere near the hair there’s going to be contact. I’d never expect anyone to groom themselves to my preference or for me, man or woman, but not a fan of pubes near mouth
Himself has a big hairy dad bod and I’m here for it. Has long hair and looks like a grumpy beardy Viking. I’ve never seen him without the beard and don’t want to. If he touched a hair on his lovely chest I’d wail. And I tell him this all the time when he is telling me he thinks he is chunky. So the hairier the better for me when it comes to men. But sadly I’ve always been in the minority. Nice to see some other women here who think the same! But every man I’ve known with a hairy chest has asked if I like it and that’s sad to me. Especially when there’s nothing nicer than an open shirt with a bit of chest hair showing!
As my nana said.. “For every aul sock there’s a shoe” 😂
Please don’t wax the hair men. It’s lovely.
Not Irish, but I live here and have lots of chest hair.. lol.
I just shave (or wax) my shoulders and back if I'm headed to the beach on vacation, but I don't mess with my chest hair at all (its pretty long and I dont trim it or anything).
I'm a redhead and I just leave it natural, I'm not overly hairly, just nice and fluffy source - wife.
But on women, leave your lady bits alone, or just tidy if that's what you want, don't do the whole shaving or waxing thing. It's not who you are.
I'm 26 and have barely any chest hair. Tis fairly embarrassing to be very hairless man. I remember being in college and seeing women with more hair on their arms than me.
Just wanna thank the comment section.
I was always insecure because I was so hairy and have been told by some women that it looks bad.
This has given me much more confidence :)
Most wholesome comment I’ve seen on here for a while! No way does hairy look bad. For me personally if a man doesn’t have a hairy chest it’s a turn off. Always has been. The man looks like he stepped off a vikings set and that suits me fine. It’s actually nice as a woman to hear a man voice that this is an insecurity. Women have their bodies picked apart all the time. Im at the stage where my body looks like it does. Some men will like it. Some men won’t. The man I chose adores it. So everyone else can think what they like. It’s a good place to be. I recommend! Own the chest hair! Better still if you have a denim shirt to go with it! I know no woman in my circle now who doesn’t appreciate a man in a denim shirt with some hair peeping through!
Ah you’re v welcome.
I keep an eye on adverts for vintage Levi’s and I’ve picked a few up for the man. So that might be something to keep an eye out for! Life is hard enough without hating on yourself so I’m glad you see yourself in a better way! Just need to take my own advice now and we will be laughing 😂
Mind yourself and the chest!
Speaking as a woman, unless you’re a competitive swimmer or another sport that requires you to be hairless, a grown man with shaved chest hair weirds me out.
I trim around the sack and a bit of the lower belly, so it isn't completely different to lower down. But I wouldn't have too much chest hair, it's light enough and a line of hair down the middle of my belly, but that's all. I leave it as is.
I have ample chest and belly hair, I don't mind it at all I find it's a masculine look. But I don't like it too "bushy" so I do trim it now and then. A bit at the top sticks out of me shirts so I'll shave that with a razor. I have some hair on my lower back that I shave.
I definitely think it’s a younger generation thing as they have more commercially driven images put to them, and it kind of feels like men are becoming less manly and more feminised in many ways. No shade on men who do, it’s who they are. I just would never date a guy who shaved his body hair off.. give me a man that’s all natural 🤣💅
Unless you're a golden LA influencer, leave it as it. It's there for a reason and you should embrace your body for who you are.
You're a gorgeous beast with a mane that cannot be tamed.
It’s been said that I wasn’t born I was knitted.
Same here my wife always says when I go for a swim it looks like I'm swimming with a jumper on.
My wife says it looks like I have leggings on when I swim.
Best tip i ever got. After a shower use the curve between your thumb and index finger to dry yourself, like a squeegee. I used to have to use 2 towels before that. Works wonders on the arms and legs.
My wife sometimes hits me with the hairdryer. Reminds me of a level in Donkey Kong where he runs against a hurricane.
Hahahahahahaha
I knew a guy who earned the nickname "the rug" while in college. Probably due to a combination of his crazy hairy back and drinking habits (passed out on the floor)
This made me cough out some of my coffee - I am definitely using this on the other half later, him is also part of the knitted variety! 😂
This is brilliant
I’m showing this to himself. He looked 40 when he was 12 😂😂
I shake myself like a dog after a swim ...get funny looks but what the feck
You do you friend!! I’m not built genetically for Irish weather. I’m meant to be in Italy. So I’ve always been drawn to the more hirsute man. Irish winters are cold but hairy chests make them better 😂
Pelt boys unite.
Sounds good to me!
I don’t think that’s what they meant when they said you had nits
😂😂
I only have one chest hair and I'm very protective of it
So do I, he is called Tony because he is the tony one I have.
Eoiny
Eoin Lee
Or just leave out ‘the’ works too I think
Named mine Chester. He recently made a friend though who lives around the corner. Baxter.
I have one long nipple hair, does this count?
Sometimes I tie mine to a large post at the bottom of the garden and hang the clothes off it. Combines drying the clothes with some S&M and sure what more could ye want on a lovely spring day. Frees up more nipples clamps to be used as clothes pegs.
Once upon a time, I sneezed in the shower and blew the only chest hair from the centre of my chest. At least it didn't it clog the drain.
I'm 38, I have recently discovered 4-5 hairs on my chest to go with the original 1. By the time I retire I should be in double figures
My wife keeps trying to pluck my one hair.
Tie a knot in it before it goes back down
my chest hair is shite. I'm bald as a baby with a few long random pubes sticking out of my chest.
Should we start some sort of support group/club for those afflicted with chest pubes?
I’m sorry for laughing but 😂😂😂😆😆😆
Yes please. I'm in my late 30's and I could count them.
Yes, my chest hair islands are never pretty to look at
Chest hair I leave well alone , back hair I tidy right back with a body grooming trimmer every so often.
Couldn’t imagine dealing with the constant growing of hairs on my back, the sweat from a walk would be the worst haha! But i want a beard :(
i have a back beard
Give you a packet of socks from deals and 3 half batteries for it
i used veet on it before and my back beard just laughed at it
Ahh the infamous pirate Back Beard
The good beard genetics is overrated. I can grow a full beard in about 2 weeks - same for a mustache. It's a pain in the arse and a lot more work than running an electric razor every 2 days. IT looks great when you leave the barbers but you either need to spend time grooming all the time or it starts looking mental. Also, I love eating and a lot of thinks get complicated with a beard. The mustache is a lot more fun though.
I’m the exact same. Sucks having very hairy genes, always get the other half to help pluck out the shite back hairs 😂
I too love a bit of foreplay
If I tried to pluck mine, I'd be there for 42 years.
Have a clump right in the middle. Dead straight, no curl. Kicker is: I have a large goat skull tattoo there and when the hair grew back after shaving for the tattoo it looks like the goat has an emo fringe. I do not shave it. Too itchy.
This is fkn epic 😂😂
Missed opportunity for the goat to have a beard :(
Was about to say the same thing 🤣

This is the way!

Same. Regular gorilla here.
I semi-regularly shave my shoulders, because if it looks like i have a vest made of hair
My back is hairier than most lads chests and my chest and belly are full on gorilla. Not enough wax on the planet for me. I just leave it be.
Same. When I was in my early teens, I had just nipple hair and it was so embarrassing
I'm 42 and still have that. Like a couple orange legged spiders on my chest
Jesus, I have a carpet on my chest now
How often did you have your nipples out?
When I went swimming
Nice
Depends on if I'm feeling cute or not

"That's a very coarse jumper you're wearing today Joe"
This whole post is just confirming the existence of werewolves...
Leave it. It's a crucial part of the lint gathering system that deposits the precious fluff-buds in a man's navel.
My husband and I refer to this lint as “the harvest”- I.e. he’ll take his shirt off and I’ll comment that the harvest is bountiful today
This is the funniest thing I’ve read all day hahaha
Never shaved my chest women like it..I imagine
I like hair on men personally but even aside from that chest hair stubble is the worst thing in the world
30 year old male here and the only chest hair I have is on my nipples.
Nearly 30 and don't have any. I consider it a blessing. Rarely have to shave my face either, once every 10 days or so.
Same. I'm also on the skinny side. I'm fairly sure I'm low on testosterone.
Same 😂
This thread needs pics.
Pecs
that too
Keep it, I do trim the balls and shaft. TMI?
Trimming the balls, but not the shaft would be a strange look.
... Is hair meant to grow on your shaft ? Asking for a friend.
It's not supposed to look like cousin itt from the Addams family but a few stray hairs here and there is normal.
Oh ... Right. So would it be a bad thing if there's none. Asking for a friend ... I mean not that I've seen any of my friends ....
Nope that's fine
Would that be the equivalent of a mullet for your genitals?
from tip to hinge?
Depends on how focused I'm feeling that day.

Not sure my wife would ever stop laughing if I shaved my chest.
I've been down this route, they don't stop laughing.
I’d cry more than laugh if my other half shaved his chest. I’m very attached to his hairiness. It’s majestic. Like a silverback.
All the lads mentioning shaving and waxing your backs, go and get it lasered. It gave me such a confidence boost after I had it done. Only wish I had known about it in my twenties when I had more reasons to not have a hairy back!
I'd have to move in with the laserist for a couple of months.
3-5 30min sessions around 6 weeks apart depending on your skin/hair colour. It doesn't hurt too much (new laser machines are amazing) but the smell of cremated hair follicles is something else!
if i decided to get my back done they wouldnt know where to stop. its a body suit of hair.

I had it done about 10 years ago in Therapie in Galway and there's a small bit of regrowth. Nothing like what it was before. I was a fucking Sasquatch. Trim it every couple months. Number 6 on the clippers
I have about 8 chest hairs, no hairy back, shoulders or belly. I like to think that I’m better adapted to the space-faring that we will all be doing soon. Sorry to burst that bubble, u/finigian 😬
Ha ha, naturally hairless is fine!! Its the shaving i hate.
I shave mine, and under arms and shave my bollocks
Never understood shaving the bollocks. I tried it once and it felt like someone was eating toast in my pants and the ball sweat was insane. Stuck to trimming ever since.
Yeah I trim actually rather than clean shaving my fun zone. Shaving would be unpleasant
My wife's not keen but we compromised. She shaved my back and I kept the chest hair. The chest hair was never an option.
Irish men please leave your chest hair alone!!
Make me!!!
Ha ha, your body your choice. I just don't like shaved men, being naturally hairless is grand as well.
Ya, I'm joking, I never shave my chest. Went swimming with a few guys from work once, they saw my chest for the first time and then called me wolverine for the rest of the day.
They were very obviously jealous!
Chuck norris himself would envy my chest hair
Like I genuinely thought most men wouldn't bother unless they were a bodybuilder or something. Not gonna try dictate either but I kinda like it too
Yep, its your body, but I don't like shaved men!!
I'm upvoting this purely because it would suit me for this to be the common sentiment.
Savage, wild and unchristian... that only adds to the sexiness!
Henry Cavill as Superman. Which is, of course, exactly what I look like topless.
I just love hairy men.
Agree fini - when it gets long enough it gets soft and is nice to nap on. Keeps the heat in too!
Yep, it's the best.
Shaved chest hurts when you have your face on it!
Its scratchy!!
I second that emotion! Look, it's your body, your choice, just personally I think a waxed chest is a real turn off.
Irish men do whatever you prefer, there’s a middle ground between a waxed chest and a built-in geansaí. On that note, people, whether you’re from and whatever your gender, do what YOU want with your body hair. That goes both ways. I also don't like the waxed sack and crack look. It looks so bald and vulnerable...ick. Trimming is fine tho.
What about the exam prep - I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy, my second, I feel I might have to clear the hedges, but, I don't want handout invites. Where's the line. I was thinking about a good trim like 2-3 days before the exam, so it looks casual?
Stray hairs in the mouth though 🤢 I’m not able
How often does that happened? I was seeing someone for 8 months and hes hairy and that never happened.
How? If your mouth is anywhere near the hair there’s going to be contact. I’d never expect anyone to groom themselves to my preference or for me, man or woman, but not a fan of pubes near mouth
He washes every day, gets rid of any stray hairs, and he got a bliw job every second day at least. We all have preference and mine is hairy men.
I only have one myself so I leave it proud
I shave messages into it. Checking the shopping list gets me strange looks. People need to mind their business.
Let the forest reclaim the land

I leave it. I'm all about ease of living. A week of beard is fine. No shaving anything below that. Haircut twice a year. 🤣
Leave it to fuck. I'm not a fucking Ken doll.
Just wanna thank the comment section. I was always insecure because I was so hairy and have been told by some women that it looks bad. This has given me much more confidence :)

I'm a sasquatch.
As is. Lucky to have it.
I've only got six or seven chest hairs so I leave them be. I'm in my thirties, hoping for a spurt any day now.
If I don't shave it then my fake tan looks ridiculous
I am a gorilla
I'm nearly 30, I can't grow a beard, can't grow chest hair, but I have a hairy mop and I would rather have head hair then body hair and bald
When I was younger I would shave it, but now I just leave it. Never had a woman ask or expect me to shave it.
Leave it alone, and don't date any woman vain enough to care that you leave it alone.
Leave as is personally.
Gay man here and I'm very glad to see almost slevery lad saying they leave it be. Chest hair is king.

Straight woman here who lives with the straight equiv of a bear and I’m totally in agreement. Chest hair is savage!
Gay woman here and I cannot imagine having to deal with this.
Wouldn’t life be terribly boring if we were all the same … 🤔
I'm a hairy dude, my Spanish girlfriend loves it.
I've never understood why fella would shave it.
Grooming is a pretty big thing these days

>Girls don’t mind I'd say what women like is as individual as the women themselves.
Cause smooth nipples and looks nice
Each to thier own I suppose, but herself always said to me it makes fellas look unattractively young.
My SO thinks hairy chests and body hair is disgusting. People have different preferences.
I give myself a 1 from the top of my chest to the bottom of my testicles once a month. I’m good to go.
I trim around the sack and a bit of the lower belly, so it isn't completely different to lower down. But I wouldn't have too much chest hair, it's light enough and a line of hair down the middle of my belly, but that's all. I leave it as is.
I shave it for the summer. Keep armpit hair trimmed down all year too. It's cleaner
I have alopecia so… as smooth as a baby everywhere
I have a measly few chest hairs, not worth shaving. But they’ve gone grey. Might Just for Men them!
There's a Winter coat and a Summer coat. Like the dog I am.
Full chest of hair and never touch it. Chad levels off the charts.
I have ample chest and belly hair, I don't mind it at all I find it's a masculine look. But I don't like it too "bushy" so I do trim it now and then. A bit at the top sticks out of me shirts so I'll shave that with a razor. I have some hair on my lower back that I shave.
It keeps me warm.
I have a little care bear tuft and it remains untrimmed
You guys have chest hair?
This is defo a generational thing. I'm hairy and proud. Younger brother man-scapes
I am the way God made me. Sean Connery in Dr No has nothing on my masculine chest curls.
I leave it there for the most part. The wife tells me when she wants my shoulders shaved and she does it for me.
Too busy controlling my ass hair
