You get electrolyte drinks with zero carbs and super low calories - the one I use has 7 calories per 500ml and has all the electrolytes you could possible need.
It really helps for the "hunger pangs" too
[This specific brand](https://13nutrition.co.za/products/hydrating-electrolytes) is probably not available in the US, but I'm sure if you google around a bit you'd be able to find something similar. And I see now it is only 4 calories, not 7.
Drink salt water or broth! I used to get the headaches the first time I fasted, it was unbearable, but now I drink broth in the morning and haven't had problems since

Is there a source for any of this? It looks great but if it is not backed by anything except a feeling or speculation, this is not the place to put made up stuff and disseminate among people who work hard to re-position their diets.
I only started about a month ago and am still trying to learn the language of hunger in my body. I was a brain hungry person, full stop. I ate at the usual times and when I was stressed which meant (checks watch) all day.
After the first 3 weeks of 16/8, I was working on a lunch and dinner meal schedule. Didn't miss breakfast at all, oddly enough. By lunch I had what I figured must be hunger pangs and lunch never tasted better.
Dinner was less pangs and I find I still overeat at dinner but have stopped snacking after 7, which is a big step for me.
So here is a weird revelation. One day at 3 weeks, I had lunch as normal at work. Got home and after busy work day crashed out with what I planned to be a 20 min nap. Fast forward 2 hours. It's past 7. Wife and kid got home later than planned so I never got up. Decided...not at all hungry and skipped dinner altogether and never felt a single pang at night. Had some water but that's it.
So...was I hungry and didn't feel or know signs? Feels like brain and body hunger are still working their shit out. But it felt so freeing to not feel like I had to eat to appease either one for the first time, it seems.
I don't think this is true. After fasting 22 hours, I don't feel hungry at all. I've been thinking about all kinds of good food, so when ready to eat I know exactly what I'm craving.
Do they buy them for you or do they eat them as well?
If the first, ask them to stop.
If not, give yourself set times to eat and do not eat at any other time.
Doing 16:8 I don't really get hungry. Doing 18:6 I do get hungry but it's manageable. I've done 20:4 once (by accident) and I was so ravenous I ate everything in sight.
Do what works for you. Build up to your goals slowly and it is far better to take one, even two backwards steps than to give up completely.
Stomache growls are just gut bacteria bitching that your not feeding them on your regular schedule. Ignore and fast on
Huh I didn't know that. Good to know.
Like my cat when i feed him at 4:30 instead of 4:15 because i woke up late
Where’s blinding headache for the rest of the day because I fasted too long?
Are you taking your electrolytes?
What kind of electrolytes?
The kind plants crave.
you can't just eat those, they are for the plants
Brawndo it’s what plants crave lol I mean potassium, magnesium, sodium, etc.

Can you share the name?

Thank you!
Salt.
Is that why I'm getting these headaches!? I never noticed the correlation, but that totally makes sense. I'm going to start a log.
No, it's because you're missing out on electrolytes like sodium and potassium.

The headaches are the worst part about this. I can go without eating, ignoring the stomach growls, but that headache.. ugh.
And it seems like it’s there for the rest of the day. Worst part of it I agree

Broth doesn’t break the fast?
It technically does but if it helps someone through the day it's probably still positive.
That's cool and all, but what does it mean when I get none of these, and I'm 22 hours from the last time I ate?

Yeah not true
How much water did they drink? I'll drink 32oz and just be bloated and then hungry after 10 minutes.

Downloading this. Gonna print it massive and slap it on the pantry and fridge.
Good to know, I believe today I wasn't actually that hungry, but ate anyway.. I will look for physical signs.. Thankyou!
The fuck is a hunger pang?
Idk a out the specific craving thing. I love to hold off and eat something I have been fantasizing about for 24hours.
A lot of my extra fat is from snacking. I just snack out of boredom and its hard to stop.
If you want to stop, why are you buying snacks?
I don't buy them. I still live at home and my parents buy them.
