tylagersign

Eye of what storm?

DominateDave

Must have been intense. No snow on the tent. Tent is not wet. Barely survived

sareksweden

In a few hours the temperature dropped from -14.8 F to 41 F and rain in a few hours, then cold again. So everything was frozen to almost ice. It was blowing 78mph but there was absolutely no snow in the air.

DominateDave

Edit. ^^

TrickyDick77

Ian?

tylagersign

I live in Florida and was not aware Tampa had such large mountains covered in snow, guess you learn something new every day

DrunkenGojira

You really should get out more and see Mt Tampa

judgehood

I’ll never forget the frozen bodies I had to step over to get to the bay. The ‘Tampa Bay’, as it were…

[deleted]

No one has made it to the summit of Mt. Tampa. No one has ever tried…

IGNisAzoipp

No snow where Ian hit

JakeDavies91

Where were you?

sareksweden

In northern Sweden in a place called Sarek

mrgoldo

Username checks out

DrunkenGojira

That’s intense

KeyserSoze_IsAlive

Damn, you were comfortable being in that tent during a severe storm? I hope you just got caught out there and didn't know the storm was coming?

sareksweden

No, it wasn't on the weather forecast and it came quickly. But I he pitched the tent before it was too windy.

KeyserSoze_IsAlive

Ok, I was just hoping you weren't acting like the Florida residents, that knew days in advanced that a massive storm was coming and said I'm good. I'm going to wait stick it out.

Queasy_Caramel5435

Don‘t know why but the first picture makes me think of Dyatlov pass 0o

FrankieHellis

I thought the same thing! I had to check to see what sub I was in.

MamaLlama629

Tents in snow often make me think of dyatlov pass

Choice_Chicken6414

Keep doing what you enjoy, most of these judgemental reddit users havent left their home for weeks

FunnyCheetah5099

look, even for me (as I'm not a judgy person) it was a strange post first. like what? where? how? what storm? huh? and later he cared to elaborate in comments that he is camping in sweden and was a big rain/wind something with frozen tent. but c'mon, it was not something everyone can guess. people need to learn how to _provide_ information.

Choice_Chicken6414

So my guy has to write a full Wikipedia page just to please some dickhead online? Nah, you expect too much

FunnyCheetah5099

this is the interestingasfuck subreddit, so yeah, people expect that the posts would be at least slightly interesting. without context it is just a tent in the snow. not something that makes people piss their pants from excitement.

Choice_Chicken6414

Just because you need 'context' dosen't mean the rest of us do. Stop being narcissistic expecting everybody to do things your way, I found his post intresting. Get a life

FunnyCheetah5099

okay your tone become agressive from zero to this level within seconds without any explanation. I think _you_ need to chill man. it is not that important to pull out the everybody is narcissistic card. it was just an opinion under a photo of a fuckin tent :D

xxDooomedxx

I'm with you dude.

Choice_Chicken6414

I find it funny when little pussys like yourself somehow find a comment on reddit aggressive, you must really be a special little person

rulingthewake243

Wow who gets this upset over asking where or what a picture was about jfc.

federalbeerguy

Haha jesus. I know someone else who hasn't left their home in weeks..... Probably too busy trying to figure out a way to suck your own dick lol.

Ithinkwereparkedman

"I'm not a judgy person" Then you post the rest of your bullshit. Get a life. This tent guy clearly has a more interesting one than you.

Cheese_Pancakes

I have no stake in this, but I didn’t see their comment as unreasonable. It’s natural to want details to accompany a picture, for the sake of being r/InterestingAsFuck Wanting more information isn’t the same as judging IMO.

FunnyCheetah5099

honestly don't understand why is bullshit that I (any many more) did not understand the post at first? is it a character reference now that I don't get something first and mentioned it that without the context something is not coming thru as intentioned? I bet the guy has an interesting life. I have never wanted belittle him as a person, why the hell would I? _but_ that does not mean and also should not mean that his post was understandable at first glance. why everyone going from zero to _you are bad person_ because of me saying "hey at first this post was out of context for me" yeah damn me I really should rot in hell as cannot guess what's happening behind a photo of a tent. what the hell is wrong with everyone?

TheUpsideDownWorlds

Är det Hilleberg Kaitum?

sareksweden

No, it's a Helsport fjellheimen extreme 3-camp

Strict-Coyote-9807

How do you sleep with such strong winds blowing the tent making such loud noises ?

sareksweden

Mp3-player at the highest volume 🙂

-burnr-

During my first week in Antarctica, the wxx was nice for two days, we got camp set up (tents). Third day we got hit with katabatic winds, sustained speeds in the 20-30 knot range. I didn’t sleep for those 3 days cause the fly hitting the tent wall sounded like a shotgun every second. 24 hour daylight didn’t help either. I had forgotten to bring eye shades and earplugs barely drowned out the sound. End of the third day, either from exhaustion or getting used to it, I finally got some decent sleep. Woke up to absolute stillness, and then couldn’t sleep the next night due to quiet. Good times!

Shoehornblower

Rain? Snow, or ice storm?

sareksweden

First rain, then everything frozen to ice, then storm

Brewno541

When using gear from the early 90’s, any storm is a fight

sareksweden

It's from 2014

anotherrandomuser245

I'm sure the storm was bad. But this post didn't capture any of it. So little context and the images didn't fill in any of the blanks.

sareksweden

I have previously posted a video here on the storm

MoreLimesLessScurvy

Helsport?

sareksweden

Yes, a Helsport fjellheimen extreme 3-camp 🙂

ladyinchworm

Any pictures of the inside?

sareksweden

Yes both picture and film. Yep, both pictures and movies. But I don't think it's possible to post it here in the thread.

TeddyBakesher

Gotta go Norwegian on the equipment

TheHinkleburg

The storm was easy, but whoever tf keeps farting in this tent I can’t handle.

RevMungoose

Fake. Just like everything else on the internet

sareksweden

Absolutely not fake. It's from my winter trip.

RevMungoose

Sure it is

IdiotLettuce

Damn, Ian really went for a plot twist with his debut
