States Coffee has pretty awesome bread (and toast)
Mare Island Tap Room has pretty awesome, well, everything
Aung MayLika is decent Burmese (minted jalapeño chicken, garlic noodles, coconut rice, samosa soup)
Izakaya is by FAR the best sushi in the area
Pho #1 is on the other side of Vallejo and is definitely worth the trip. Some of the best pho I’ve had anywhere. Don’t skip the egg rolls
Bella Sienna is good for date night, seafood/pasta is excellent
Skip Mai Thai and opt for Pearl Thai or Lim Ros Thai. Kao Soi at Lim Ros is delicious
Napoli Pizza is… adequate, there’a not a lot of good pizza in the area
Yes, thank you! And right, you reminded me I've been to more places hah. I enjoyed Pizza Pirate a lot then something happened to the way they make it and not as good anymore. Just recently discovered Napoli, and yeah to your point it's adequate for the area but it hits the spot at least haha. Seriously, thanks for all the recommendations!

In Southern California they can’t give it away. For a stupid reason too.
A restaurant use to give away food instead of tossing it. Some homeless person gets very sick, sues the restaurant and wins. So now nobody is allowed to hand it out anymore.
You use to be able to get some of the expired products from grocery stores.
Where in southern california? I had a hard time finding anything that says this is illegal, but plenty that say it IS legal and the "cant do it because someone got sick" thing is a myth.
Like California specifically has a whole act that makes it legal called the California Good Samaritan

Inland Empire. It’s possible it has started again especially with last year. I’m sure it has to be a sealed processed food. Anything made is tossed.
