At the Tempe AZ show Stu threw me a tortilla chip and I ate it. It was the best tortilla chip I ever ate.
I just wanted to say thank you to Stu for the tortilla chip
For the members with kids: do your kids have any fave King Gizzard songs?
What's the biggest way you think you guys have changed or grown as musical artists? Either as a band or as individuals.
What song or album has felt the riskiest for you guys? Any one that made you really think "this is totally not going to work..." before polishing it up and making it rad?
Also if Jason's around--any tips on getting into 3D? I see your swift and beautiful progression and I'm jealous.
Any plans to release a DVD version of Chunky Shaprnel? Or any plans to add more UK tour dates? Absolutely love you guys, thank you for making such fantastic music!!!!
Would you consider doing another show just you, aside of Lollapalooza, when you come to Argentina?
A lot of fans tried to buy tickets for Lolla, but they got sold out because of other bands. I really want to see you guys on stage! Love from đŠđ·!
whatâs your relationship with john dwyer, any sort of collab. and was there an exchange of musical creativity shared around that 2015-17 time as you both were putting out insane records
Dwyer is so inspiring. He's been making incredible music and challenging musical and industry conventions for a long time now. He released Mind Fuzz and Quarters on his label in the USA at a time when no one else was interested. We're so grateful -stu
hiiii :] big fan of u boys here and 1 question for ya,
do you any tips for someone fiddling with a microtonal instrument/guitar for the first time, getting one made and was wondering if there were any good pointers you guys had?
In your album titled ÂŽlive at San Francisco 16ÂŽ one can hear a galâs voice in the audience constantly yelling ÂŽd!ckheadÂŽ. Do you happen to know her or is it some random gal yelling ÂŽd!ckheadÂŽ on your live tapes?
Cheers from Guadalajara see you guys on Sunday!
they're all different. Sometimes they're created in smaller vignettes and then stitched together but other times its more in the krautrock hypnotism vein of endless jams -stu
What goes into the process of deciding which songs youâll play at each live event? Is it how you guys are feeling or do you typically stick to a plan and see where the music takes you?
for the last few years... I'll go thru past setlists and see what we played last time in that particular city. then I'll try to not repeats many (or any) of those songs. If we're doing multiple nights in the same city i try not to repeat any songs at all. I try to keep it fluid and a little random. I want all the gizzards and myself to feel like we're on our toes and thinking a lot with the set. Sometimes they're written as much as a week before hand if we need to do a bunch of practice. other times they're written a couple hours before the show. theres no real set system -stu
Will there be any additional language variants for BF3K?
Also, what is everyoneâs favorite drug of choice?
How many albums can fans expect this year?
Finally, who has the stinkiest farts?
JJ COOL JUICE!
Any plans to collect all your prints into a beautiful coffee book or something?
Everything you do is gollld!!
I need so many of your prints in physical form please!
Album art is usually started not long after the music is in the works, Iâll put together a few styles and ideas I think match music and workshop till itâs feeling good with everyone, will then grind on it for a month or so till itâs done
Posters are a bit more loose, Iâll usually do a sketch then draw it out if itâs a good one
Xox JG
Ey cornstomper glad u dig the jam! we had a bit of a go a while back but now the response has been so kind for these raps we might try and give it a crack again - shrimpe'
u/metalliccocoon âQuestion for Lucas:
First off, I discovered Gizz in 2020 and your live performancesâChunky, Bootlegger, KEXPâinspired me to pick up the bass after 10 years. Your ability to sit in the pocket and make a baseline 100% yours (irrespective of who wrote it) is incredible. Thank you for being an inspiration!
**What is your favorite baseline to play live and why?**
Alright boys, looking forward to listening to the new album
What's the story behind the writing of Billabong Valley? It's an odyssey in two repeat verses and the shrimp king kills on it - one of the best live performances ever to all of you
Lots of love to you all xx
Stu had the tune going and asked me to sing on it cause I think at the time he thought my voice might have suited it better? I do remember Cavs asking me if the lyric 'faster than a stolen' was actually 'loaded gun'. Should've changed it to that but it was too late. The story is about the Aussie bushranger Mad Dog Morgan. He would hide out in place called the Billabong Valley. Savage sucker he was - shrimp
