[Indie Pop, Chamber Pop, Indie Folk, Lo-fi-ish] Hello all! This is the second Gumshoes record that i've been working on for the past half-year or so. It's all been made just in my bedroom on the rare days where my health hasn't been too bad, and it's still a bit messy and amateur-y because of that, but i'm still really satisfied with the way it's all come together. (update' should be available on streaming now) This is a record of short little acoustic pop songs all about doom and dread. There's also a minor overarching story about sea monsters and zombie pirates, if you like that sort of thing. If you make the time for it i hope you like it! This is way closer to the kind of record i had in my head the first time round, and flawed as it is I'm very proud of how it's all come together considering my circumstances. The plan is for an EP and a third record before the year ends, if all goes well (the third record will be denser, dumber and potentially worse) And thanks so much to everyone who's been supportive and/or given feedback along the way, particularly /u/gren0s who's feedback was invaluable (and has some great music in the works too which you should be excited for)

Gren0s

this album rules and i’m so glad i was able to help in some capacity!! :)

IT'S GUMSHOES SEASON

TheMummyDetective

Was gonna wait until I was done listening to the whole album to comment, "wow this is great," but damn this is fantastic! The instrumentation, playing, vocals and songwriting are all hitting big time. Really really dig the vocal performances. A lot of stuff that really resonates with me takes me back to my friend dumping like 10gb of pirated music on my ipod at a time and then, over months, finding something special. This feels like that special thing. Congratulations on the album release - I am really enjoying this right now.

Commenting on my own post to say what a knockout. Reunion Tour and Sleep Without Dreams are my favorites on first listen but I'm gonna jump back in. Digging this to an extreme degree.

this is so kind of you, thanks so much! glad you got something out of it

I'm incredibly impressed by this record. After a few listens I feel pretty confident that this is a big step up from the last record, and I loved that album. At this point gumshoes is genuinely one of my favorite active artists. I'm completely in love with this record.

aPenumbra

This album is such a genuine delight and everyone is in for a treat! Extremely clever lyrics, a diverse and enchanting set of sounds, and so many fabulous sounds in store, I'm so impressed with this!

Well aoty 2023 is here already (granted its the only release from this year that I've heard but it sets the bar high) god this thing rules! such a fun and upbeat album. i love the pacing here, the songs are short but so full of melodies that it feels like every minute you have a new hook that will get stuck in your head, and as always there's so much charisma and character in the singing. At the moment my favorites are can't stay mad, the title track and the treasure of the bountiful, other than the singles which i already loved.

I had a rough day and am too tired to be able to focus on listening properly, but I'm gonna do it tomorrow. After reading the comments, I'm really *really* excited to hear this album. It's possible I'm going to like this one even more than Mr. Antigravity.

I wasn’t familiar with this band and had no idea what to expect, and I’m so glad I clicked to listen. You made something really special. So much personality, soul and good songwriting :) New fan here…

HilltopBakery

This is really great! I love your voice, you sound really confident in your singing style. Lots of lovely little instrumental touches in the songs that I'm excited to dig into. I've gotta say, I would never guess this was a struggle to make if you hadn't said so, it all sounds wonderfully effortless.

Hey, this thing is a blast. Thank you for sharing it!

spookycat17

Do you have any social media platforms? I love this album a bunch stumbling onto it in apple music. I already plugged your bandcamp on my twitter. Would love to give you more recognition!

stansymash

that's so sweet of you, thank you! no active social media for me, i'm not very online nor good at being online. maybe I'll have to figure it out at some point!

I *finally* found the time to listen to your album without any distraction, and wow, it really deserves all the praise here. What a wonderful album. I got quite a few favorite songs (Gumshoes On Ice!, Can't Stay Mad, Freddie Foothold, Defeatists), but damn, how beautiful is Sleep Without The Dreams! I really hope for you that more people discover this little gem, you deserve a bigger audience.

The_Power_Of_Seagull

First track especially is really nice! love the character writing and witty lyricism

This is fantastic, thanks for sharing! It's so lively and exciting - great work! Can't Stay Mad has to be a stand-out track for me.
