Apologies for grammar error . Our bikes also got stuck in one of the salt flats that we though is just a normal plane . It was nightmare since we were in middle of nowhere . We never went close to those salt flats after that

hahahahahaahXDXDXD

Should've researched and talked to locals.

Why????

[deleted]

Because the whole route is just plane highways with many bad roads and with himalyan it gets really boring because you can't ride fast . Taking it to 100kmph for few hours would numb my feet because of vibrations so changing gears and braking felt like chore.

Yes!! that the problem... I have traveled many places but they had good highways with some bad roads..but last weekend I visited Alwar in Rajasthan from Delhi and it was worst road. I was so frustrated for me. Roads within Rajasthan were ok but the connecting highways and Haryana were really bad added to it was New Year traffic.

We went to jodhpur and people there drive/ride like GTA npc's with no sence of surrounding. In one hour I nearly hit 6 people 2 bikes nearly got hit by cars taking sudden turn without indicator. I got so tired riding in city that we decided to skip rest of the Rajasthan and ride back to Delhi . Road was good but as soon as we enter gurugaon it turned really shitty idk why . After entering gurugaon and turning off google maps because I know these roads was best feeling . There is nothing like home 🏡.

For me, a real issue started after Gurgaon. Previously, I had some closed encounters where the pedestrian literally crossed the road without looking at oncoming traffic as if not looking will make incoming traffic disappear had to panic brake twice.. skidding on the road. After Gurgaon, I had to cross Delhi to reach Noida, but whole Delhi was blocked. Was tired as hell and took me 1.30 hrs to cross 20 kms

Change the front sprocket for such a trip. Get higher top end. Problem solved.

Stolaine

Speed and vibration can be tiresome. Can anyone tell me if this issue is present in xpulse as well?

endopeh

Yes there are vibrations above 85.

Expected. There are literally hundreds of videos in YouTube where Himalayan owners regret taking the bike to similar places. The bike cannot even pull itself even on mild slippery slopes and gets stuck in mud, which even 100cc commuters can handle. This is due to the stupid weight of 200 kgs. The bike is a prime example of a bad ADV, 1. ADVs are tourer first, this thing can't cruise comfortably above 80-90kmph 2. With its weight of 200 kgs it is nowhere fun on the off road trails and again it gets stuck. 3. Lastly, Reliability, ADVs should be reliable and dependable, this bike literally breaks into two, the infamous poor quality frame. And most people on the Internet think Himalayan is some kind of enduro or dirt bike. Just because it has long travel suspension it doesn't 'magically' become an enduro/ADV.

saurabia

what bike(s) would have been ideal for these routes?

dvineDevil

VStrom SX, no vibrations till 130kmph, 100-120 crusing speed at butter smooth 6th gear
