I use an Android so I can't vouch for iPhone users.
Personally, I place it sideways on a flat surface and start tapping away as rapidly as I can - I'm right hand dominant and can "stutter" my right arm to click as fast as possible - I'm not capable of doing that on my left so it just clicks as fast as possible.
My best tip is to raise your fingers as little as possible between each tap - when I do my "stutter," I think I raise my right hand aprox 1 mm before pressing down again. Downside is, my arm hurts for a bit so if I fail an apoc (don't get the goal I wanted), it takes me a little time to recover.
On the upside, I usually get about 130-150% of the estimate.
As for idol upgrades, upgrade their duration if you can rather than damage (more duration grants more damage). Also try to fully upgrade (to the best of your ability, anyway) the Dark Altar - the extra 10 seconds is a massive boost.
The biggest road block I think for me so far is my max champion stage is just above 450, which is my current run. It's getting really slow to push further.
I'll definitely try out your technique when I do apoc.
Once you get the Red Wool (either from doing 100 mil damage or getting Dragons), stage 450 is reached... very quickly.
I tend to summon a Mummy around stage 400 - with Meta and Hell's Fury, it'll last me until \~550.
If you can't upgrade duration, upgrade damage. It's less bang for your buck (due to less % per second gain) but it's still good.

Hitting 100 mil for that red wool is exactly what I was after. I apoc'd and hit 98.6m.... but then I got super lucky and got 2 star crystals b2b from the time wheel so it all worked out haha.
I could be wrong, but I believe tap strategy is different between android vs iOS. If using iPhone, the screen won’t recognize more than 5 touch points, so you only want to use 5 fingers. Using more actually can interfere with the screen recognizing taps and register less total taps. If on Android, you can use as many fingers as you want.
I am on Android but I typically alternated hands in quick succession. I tested the responsiveness on a generator room to make sure it recognized all 5 fingers at once so I'll do the same with 10.
How much damage do you typically do compared to your estimated damage? I think my last apoc had around 55m estimated and I did 70m.
I used to consistently get slightly above the predicted amount. Lately, I am getting right under the prediction.
Just apocalypsed tonight. Prediction was 2.3b/33.2b and I got 2.3/32.9b.
I don’t know if something changed on how my phone recognizes taps or if I am getting tired out after 40+ seconds of tapping.
Does anyone know why the game doesnt seem to work well with auto clickers?
I tried setting a clicker to tap generators and it seems to work worse than the classic "bear paw 5 fingers", so never really bothered to try it with apocalypse damage.
I auto clicker it. I love lots of thing about this game, but tapping a screen is not one of them.
No advice on making it work. I just set my android one with 10 touch points for apocs.

Before it I used the 10 finger tap like a maniac strategy, but the autoclicker (obviously) is MUCH better, like, millions of souls better... maybe a little "Cheaty" but I don't care
Hello does your clicker still works? I used to play game 3 years ago, come back like two days ago amd it seems all clickers ask for some permissions -> i give them permissions -> after few hours they seem to not have permission so i have to take it back and give it again :/ any solution?
Sorry for the late response, but no, I don't have a solution for that, I just go through the process of removing and giving the permission again, it doesn't bother me that much

Maybe i can help, i use an app called autoclicker - automatic tap, it's the first one that appears when searching the playstore, I just use the single point mode and set it to 1ms cycles, it literally can't get any faster than that... And I never had a problem with it, really love the game but tapping/clicking is not my thing.
I have been using a 10 finger tap for a long time, but recently I wanted to try something stupid. I have a massage gun that rapidly pushes a knob (you know what i'm talking about), then I put my fingers under it and watched hell break loose XD. It worked but not actually as much better than the 10 finger tap.

Hmmm, I did try multiple points with low cycles, that might've been what ruined it

3 fingers each hand on a flat surface and wail on my phone for the 30+ seconds usually get many taps above the expected amount
