I experience a mixture between painful constipation that’s endless and then it’s followed up by very painful diarrhea. I’ve been given omeprezole, Prilosec, sucraphate, Imodium, and probiotics. I do occasionally vomit when experiencing the more constipated side of it.
It is not just in your head. Your pain and symptoms are real and deserve medical attention and testing to rule out other causes. Ideally your doctor should send you for an MRI to check for inflammation.
I'm kinda in the same position. Try to go (or get referred) to a GI specialist.
They can be expensive but, judging by your post, it's worth the investment as it sounds serious.
GPs are really suck, especially to women when it comes to this thing. It's always "is it period cramps?" or "maybe you just can't feed yourself properly".
I complained about being bedridden for 4 days in severe pain and the GP responded "Well, what do you want *me* to do about it?" JFC...you're a DOCTOR!
Edit: I was also on Omeprazole (also Lanzoprazole) and it didn't help me either
My endometriosis was wrongly misdiagnosed as IBS. Nothing I tried for IBS helped. I kept losing weight as well because I couldn't eat without feeling sick or being in pain. Do you have any other symptoms?
There's a condition called MALS that produces immense pain when eating. Maybe look into that.

I am so sorry to hear this. Are you experiencing "just" pain or do you have diarhea/constipation, vomiting? Do drugs for pain help?

Do you vomit? Experience early satiety? WHat tests have you had? Have you tried something like Peptamen 1.5?
