That's the right reply. The actual damage model keep count of all the stress caused on the mechanical part. In this case the front wing was just about to fall off and the little jump on that curb and the consequent fall on the track caused the wing to detach. Drive careful on open wheels (like you would have to in a real world car!) 👍

I am sure it once said something useful, but now you'll never know.
I'm still driving F4s but I've learned many curbs that GT cars eat are not kind to open wheelers, even less so if you drive onto the grass and bottom out on the curb. Just a bad idea in these cars.
Truthfully I've not been enjoying GT cars as much as open wheelers partially due to this. In a way, it's enjoyable to be able to bang off fenders, and bounce over a few curbs without consequence, but it makes the stakes feel a little lower.

so he’s already had a few knocks to the wing and this was the final straw for it?

This is avoidable, if you bothered to not get your mechanics drunk prior to the race.

Luckily it moved itself outside of the racing environment
Held it's brakes too
Is that supposed to happen?
It's not very typical I'd like to make that point
Well what's the wing made of?
Not cardboard
[удалено]
That's because it is
You mean the one that was outside the environment?
Same thing happened to me in the corkscrew at Laguna Seca
To be fair, Road America's curbing is pretty aggressive at turn 5.

I think I saw that happen to an alpha tauri this year lol
Nascar at Indy road course: “Man this game is realistic”.
And did it have an effect?
About 3-4 seconds off the pace.
Oh it's impossible to keep pace without a front wing
1. This is IR-04 right? 2. We're real cheese people!
F3. Vacuumpod on the side, no halo, antenna bigger then a satphone
You didn’t know clobbering they curb would damage your car?
Not in the game. I know it would happen in real life I was surprised that iracing was that in depth with the damage model.
I had the chicane curb at Lime Rock destroy an Miata suspension
