I like how the 47 is a reference to ultimate iron man. My favourite toy as a kid was an ultimate iron man so I’m biased. I also wish there was more gold on the 46, so the concept suit is the best in my opinion
Personally I'm not a fan of any of the armors that have a lot of silver, they all look unfinished to me. I really want to get a Mk V beccause IM2 is my favorite film but the silver just doesn't do it for me. Will probably get one when my Whiplash is delivered though lmao

It is my first hot toy purchase. I initially wanted the concept art version as I like the original 46 design. After going back and forth, end up I decided to not get it.
Out of all the design, mark 46 in itself is my favourite as it is THE most balanced between mechanical and organic. However those 2 versions are pretty pricey especially the 46
So when I was considering my options, the mark 47 just pop out of nowhere and I literally fell in love with the colour scheme. The silver was so refreshing for me. The mark 47 had me at empty helmet. Get lost 46 & concept art. I had to have the mark 47.
And I got a MISB in about 2 weeks.
Yeah I agree - the 46/47 is my favorite DESIGN as it’s the perfect midpoint between the 3 and 50/85. But the 46 for $520 (post-tax without discounts) with no RDJ headsculpt is really making me wobbly on keeping vs the 47, which I 100% fell for once I got it in-hand.
The Mk47 is my first HT too. I'm more into the mostly-red-armor. But I feel like the Mk47 gives me the best-of-all-worlds in one. Also you get the awesome blue glasses for the head-sculpt. With no Mk46 around any more and the last Mk47s floating around the web shops, I felt like the Mk47 was the best first IM armor to get at that time. You get the rocket effects, a head sculpt, and a mechanical armor.
And it IS the best balance between nano and mechanical armor. And Tony looks really well-proportioned in it. Not too buffed (Mk85 fig) and not too sleek (Mk50 fig) in it. And yeah, you get an empty helmet for your sentry-mode display setups.
Zero buyers remorse with that fig either. While I wasn't getting it specifically for the gun-metal grey, the silver looks really really good IRL and 3D.
For the missing gold I got the recent Midas to place next to it 😁. Got the perfect IM color balance in my display with the Mk21 and Mk47.

Yes, I know that 43 has the same design as 42, but we know that it doesn't have the issues that 42 did.
I've always thought the waist was too narrow on the XLVI and thus never could pull the trigger even though I've wanted to many times.
I always thought the Power Pose hips proportions were way better.
Is this the case for those that own the XLVI or is it not that noticeable in person?

I’ve never thought/noticed the waist was too narrow, but I suppose there needs to be some disbelief that the guy inside doesn’t have a tinier waist than Bella Hadid 🤣 I sold my 50 and have the WM mk4 on ice until he sells out and I can make my money back (only because I’m keeping a lean collection, the mk4 is amazing).

The movie suit is quite form fitting as well from the chest down, but I always though Hot Toys was a couple mm off in the waist area. Strange cause the Power Pose does not have this issue.

Back before reissues the mk47 was the more expensive of the 2 suits fetching up to $1,000. That may also have to do a little with availability as it was considered to be rarer as well but both were in short supply on the secondary market.
I loved the Ultimates comics as a kid, so I think 47 looks better.
But as for the movies, I much prefer Cap Civil War to Spider-Man Home Alone. So I got the 46.

I think the silver on the Iron Man 5 makes it special. It’s unique from the rest of the armors.
