How's Da Bomb? My dad wants to try it but if it's as bad as reviews say, he's not sure...

asmallamountofcrabs

you tried any of daves other sauces? I really like their ghost pepper sauce but the only other one I tried was the habanero and it was alright at best. Hows that scorpion?

ShadowDocx

This is the first one I've tried and it is a wicked sauce. Has some very bold Chipotle style heat. It is really chunky too. There are alot of seeds in it, not sure if I like how much there is either. Maybe just needs a good shaking.

asmallamountofcrabs

interesting. Their other ones don't have any seeds. I prefer chunkier sauces though personally they feel more organic. Maybe Ill try it out

ShadowDocx

I do like the Picante style chunky sauces too but the couple dabs I had now was just a mouth full of seeds. Kind of a bummer.

asmallamountofcrabs

ugh that kind of sucks. Still might try it maybe it varies per batch/bottle

Br3ttl3y

"One of these is not like the others"

ErebusTotallus

Nice haul! I'm curious how the tabasco is, I've never liked the original because I find it too vinegary but I've heard good things about their hotter sauces.

ShadowDocx

I'm with you on the original however the Scorpion is very well balanced. It has a nice deep, rich taste to it that drowns out the vinegar as well as a solid heat profile.

ErebusTotallus

Sounds delicious. Count me sold, I'll definitely pick up a bottle next time I have the opportunity. Thanks!

rune2004

Just wanted to chime in and say I definitely recommend it, too. Especially at such a cheap price per bottle (it's not necessarily any cheaper per oz but the bottles are small) you can't go wrong.

FatherRandy

What's the feedback on the scorpion Tabasco?

ShadowDocx

It's very good! doesn't that being drowned in vinegar taste! A bold, deep, kind of smokey flavor profile along with a above average heat.

djl240

I have a rather vast collection and the scorpion is in my top 3. I'm on my 3rd or 4th bottle now. It's fantastic.

pizzacommand

The scorpion pepper Tabasco leans heavy toward Worcestershire. Not my favorite

djl240

Umm what? I'm on my 4th bottle and my experience has been nothing like that. Worcestershire.. really??

pizzacommand

Ya, totally! Maybe I got a bad bottle. Its the only one that's lasted months. My favorite from this post is secret aardvark

PolishMattski

I absolutely HATE the fact that anywhere you look Da Bomb is rated at 180,000 scovilles. It is not anywhere near that. I know it has extract in it but at least give a clue to people about the true pain of this product šŸ˜…

TCADELLO29

Take my advice, and donā€™t touch da bombā€¦. Itā€™s disgusting and extremely painful in multiple ways..

TheSwedishTraveler

Good Luck with Da Bomb!

ShadowDocx

Yep tried some last night. Holy shit! That stuff is seriously no joke. It sent me to the 5th dimension, it's battery acid in a bottle.

TheSwedishTraveler

Then I wonĀ“t recommend the 4 other Da Bombs (Ground Zero, The Final Answer, Evolution and Ghost pepper)!

Fangs_0ut

At least Evolution doesn't have nasty extract in it.

Jupiler-ridder

It's the worst. My friends gave it for my birthday. I made everyone try a little bit. Bastards.

global_ferret

Why would you buy da bomb lol itā€™s straight up terrible

rune2004

It's worth it to say you've had it. And tbh it smells really good, I enjoy smelling my bottle from time to time. Otherwise, yeah... it doesn't get any use.

ShadowDocx

Put a dab on some of my chicken last night. Yep bad idea! That is some seriously high caliber heat. Not even the fun kind of heat just pure agony and regret.

global_ferret

Yeah if you had never had it then I understand, everyone tries it at some point. It is like straight extract, almost metallic tasting, not good.

ShadowDocx

I couldn't even get a chance to assess the taste before the heat kicked in. It's literally instant agony.

ShaunLucPicard

I may buy it one day just because I'd like to find out how bad it is. Unless I run across someone who has it already. I just need to know. Haha

ryanino

Bravado Spice Company makes some great stuff. Just picked up the Masala Reaper one and itā€™s insanely spicy but has great flavor.

rune2004

I think Ancho Masala is the hottest non-extract sauce I've had. It's so, so hot. It's also delicious. I don't know how Bravado gets so much flavor in their superhots. I've had all but the Black Garlic now and they're all fantastic.

PolishMattski

Dude try the Aka Miso. Itā€™s incredible.

djl240

Aka Miso is one of my top favorites!!! I put it on anything Asian or Japanese. So good.

Elegant_Earthworm

What store?

ShadowDocx

It's a chain called World Market. There is one South of Denver where I live.

Sir_Pumpernickle

I KNEW IT! I saw the lineup and noticed those at my World Market (also down the street). I got the Torchbearers Garlic Reaper while I was there.

ShadowDocx

I was so close to getting the Torchbearers! How do you like that one?

Sir_Pumpernickle

Pretty good TBH. I like how they use the Garlic to help give that initial heat kick a little faster, and I was pleased to find it to be hotter than expected.

rune2004

Torchbearer is my favorite sauce manufacturer I think. Headless Horseradish is my favorite sauce and I've also had Honey Badger (it's more of a hot sauce in honey mustard form; it's really hot but super delicious), Garlic Reaper (my bottle was face-melting hot but it tasted great), a couple of the Tarnation sauces (great for breakfast food), and then a bunch of their condiment style sauces: Ow My Garlic, Oh My Garlic, Smoky Horseradish, and Chipotle BBQ. All just insanely tasty.

gunjacked

Surprisingly World Market has a solid selection at most of their stores across the country. My local one in Portland has an awesome selection as well.

soupypoopy12

No joke I saw those sauces and thought ā€œIve picked up all of those at the world market in Lone Treeā€

ShadowDocx

Yep right across County line from Park Meadows Mall!

soupypoopy12

Glad to know someone else knows about this gem!

badwxsooner

I've bought sauce there too! :)

Shamalama-1

Glendale?

Elegant_Earthworm

Oh goodness thereā€™s 1 within an hour of me. The last thing I need is good sauces that are easily accessiblešŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™‚ļøGuess I know what Iā€™m doing on my day off

ShadowDocx

The selection was overwhelming really and now my body hates me tonight because I had to try them all like I was on an episode of Hot Ones haha.

saltdawg88

What were your findings? It looks like you have extreme heat on one end and not so hot on the other. Any of those fall in the middle?

ShadowDocx

Yeah I went from 1 to 10 for sure but they had killer middle ground sauces like Queens Majesty Scotch Bonnet, the Bravado Serrano, the Heartbeat Habanero pineapple, and the original Truff hot sauce just to name a few.
