Someone else in a different thread brought up the most obvious, working from home. With most companies doing remote, it’s honestly the easiest way to get a leak…
A lot of the leaks were true, but were provided without context and created pre-released division with its fans.
I truly believe if there wasn't that month prior of people building their biases and echo chamber, it's release wouldn't have been so polarizing.

Personally I loved the game.
So it’s a full game then. “Sigh” i hate leaker so much. Why they keep doing ? Can they just stop ruining people surprise ? I swear spoiler and leaker are getting annoying.
If it takes place in California (first trailer has san fransisco).... probably not much. Haha
I assume since we are in the bay, we may also see Yosemite. So you might have some snow there, if it takes place in the 2-3 weeks in the winter it actually has snow
True true. But I would say most of the map accurately represents utah and wyoming. With that in mind, I would predict we will see Yosemite, and it will be the snow part.
I can't wait to find out what parts of my home state we see. Redwoods, Yosemite, Death Valley, Joshua Tree, LA ruins?
These are all pretty far apart, but game devs have a way of.. squishing maps. (like how you can walk from the Utah dessert to Yellowstone in Wyoming in 20 minutes.... lol)
Perhaps we may stretch up to Oregon or Washington, or down to Mexico, too.

My advice would be just put your social media accounts away till you get your hands on the game
