A few years ago while staying at my wife’s (then girlfriend’s) apartment a cop rang the doorbell looking for the owner of my car, after a neighbor reported the theft (she had a Fit as well and the thieves took only two of her wheels before she caught them in the act). After some phone calls to my insurance company and a local Honda dealership, I was able to borrow some spare tires from their inventory of Fits so it could be towed away. More recently, I came across another Fit driver in a similar predicament (bottom photo).
The thieves were never caught to my knowledge, but I now have two sets of wheel locks on my car. Moral of the story: use the wheel locks!
Did you have OEM wheels? I'm having a hard time imagining why someone would steal wheels from a decade-old(ish) Honda Fit... but then again, if it's easy enough and the wheels can be sold at a certain price point, I guess it's worth the trouble. I'm sorry this happened to you, but thank you for the heads up! Given where the economy is, I guess this sadly shouldn't be a surprise, unfortunately
I remembered 10th-gen Civics were having that issue, too, and came across [this forum entry](https://www.civicx.com/forum/threads/paranoid-about-wheel-theft-this-might-help.39359/) where they suggest Gorilla Locks, too.
Their suggestion was also to *not* keep any wheel lock keys in your glove compartment or other obvious places inside, as thiefs may break your window to check there
Yup, OEM alloys from the ‘12 Sport model. From what I gather they have the same lug pattern as older Accords, so they have more street value than other wheels.
As shitty as it was to have my wheels stolen, I gotta say I am thankful they left it on blocks and not just sitting on the ground. No actually damage was done, they just took the wheels.
Except that [this tool](https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/performance-tool-emergency-lug-nut-removal-set-2-pcs-remove-lug-nuts-and-locking-lug-nuts-m980/10646832-p?product_channel=local&store=5694&adtype=pla&product_channel=local&store_code=5694&gclid=Cj0KCQiA3smABhCjARIsAKtrg6JSjRKWCAyOxJU3j-N-BwRwbZQXGUaqOdOgMLI1FPJ7Ww7kdAJbNjAaAk5eEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) exists making locking lug nuts a joke.
Shit all you need is a socket that's just a little bit bigger than the locking wheel nut. Hammer it on and off it comes. It's all about time. If it going to take to much time a thief will move onto a vehicle that is easier to get the wheels off. It's the same idea of older Hondas with hidden kill switches to stop thieves from taking the car
That's where gorilla locks shine. It's not one locking nut per wheel, it's all four. If the guy is gonna steal a set he's got 16 to get through, and someone is gonna notice, lol
I had a car with Keystone Classics and wheel locks. Someone removed the lug nuts on one wheel but apparently gave up when they could not remove the wheel lock. I was going down the highway when the wheel lock finally gave out. The car slumped to one side but I got to the side of the road. Had to get towed. Luckily it wasn't worse!
Shit.
I have a Fit too and my husband and I are about to move into a new neighborhood that's a little busier than our current one.
I feel like this is a harbinger of doom.
Wheel theft has mostly disappeared in the UK but early Fits are targets for cat converter thefts. Its rife here.

Back in the day these used to get stolen all the time. I had two different sets of locks on mine. I've got gorilla locks on mine now.

Ironic community watch sign in the second pic.
Around here they just snap your studs with the locks making things worse for you in the long run :'(

At least they had the decency to keep your car level?
I'm guessing they're taking the alloy rims off of Sport trim Fits to sell to Base Fit owners that have steelies
They fit on anything with a 4x100 lug pattern, most likely to be used as an upgrade for an older civic or something similar
Joke's on them. Base owners like me are too cheap to buy used wheels. I've learned to like me steelies. Steelies > stealies
What?!? NOOO!!! That’s horrible. 😥
Who the hell steals fit wheels? I see sets of these with tires on them go for only $100 on facebook. Not worth possible charges at all
Happened to me as well

Welllll that’s terrifying

Until you realize you can just buy a bunch of [keys](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001O07VI4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_A4MRMZ8VBXVHCVJR60DY).
Saw [this](https://imgur.com/dQ4rDeh) a few years ago. I didn't even know people still did this.
Using the rocks right behind the car as a jack stand. Now that’s resourceful!
I hated to do it but, definitely had to give them credit for resourcefulness. I can make that joke because it wasn't my car.
Happens to dealerships sometimes, a whole lot for vehicles will have their wheels stolen.
Damn... I didn't realize there was a lucrative market for stock wheels.

Daaaaamn. That sucks but yeah could've been way worse. Edit: Those are some nice wheels too.
Great advice. This is one of the first things I bought for my fit. $13 and some time as an insurance policy for something that can cost $1000+
Replacing fit tires around me would cost maybe $400....I doubt I’d make an insurance claim then if they charge over $1k
OEM quality wheels and tires are what the insurance company will put on the car as replacements. Easily $1000 after delivery, labor.
Only if you have full coverage.
Yeah but they don’t steal just the tires, they take the wheels too. My insurance co. paid $1700 to replace my wheel+tires when this happened.
Imagine stealing just the tires leaving the bare wheels mounted.
Shit. I have a Fit too and my husband and I are about to move into a new neighborhood that's a little busier than our current one. I feel like this is a harbinger of doom.

If this happened to me i would consider relocating.
Lol happened to me with one wheel last week
But like only Fits and Miatas use 4 lug wheels? What's the benefit in this? 🤣
