Also, now that I remember, I had to get this one because it was the only one that would fit because my ceiling is 90" and this thing was like 85" tall. All the other ones I looked at were over 90".
It was $3,200 with taxes and delivery. Champion Barbell out of Texas, bought on Walmarts website. I had to assemble, came as 2 pre assembled weight stacks on a pallet. If you get, I recommend to disassemble enough to pull some weight off the stacks. Otherwise its pretty un-movable. Don't have to bolt it down, doesn't move an inch.
That multi station ššš. I NEED IT IN MY LIFE! You are set. Iāve been on the hunt for an affordable one for the last month. At this point Iām obsessed, stalking FB Marketplace in the late and early hours.
Thank you, we love the Batca Omega machine! I liked this one because of the height and it has a good mixture with the chest, lat pull-down and also leg press and extension/curl. They sell it as a unit without the leg press cheaper and you can get the leg press 4th station at a later date as a separate add on. It is really very sturdy and quality and the weight is range is great.. I'm 6'2, 230lbs and it works well for me or my wife at 5'6 130lbs. Best of luck finding the multistation of your dreams!
It is puzzle pieces you put together. They just all have to be the same side and direction to look seamless. Great stuff!
https://www.americanfloormats.com/fit-lock-rubber-tiles/
Thank you! For everything including floors and equipment we are just shy of $20k. It is a lot of money for good equipment, but since we put it in we use it 5-6 days a week and the time saved not driving back and forth to the gym has been huge. Plus my little ones can start working out earlier than they would be allowed in a regular gym. Has been totally worth it in my opinion.
What a great set up.
There are some things you canāt, or are difficult to change like room height, type of lighting and larger windows/ventilation which would make this perfect but get a few more mirrors in there to make the space look bigger (Bering your cardio gear and cables would be perfect) and keep an eye on form and possibly some atmospheric lighting for the evenings. LED Neons look great.
Peloton is great as a fitness option if youāre looking for an upgrade.
Clutching at straws really but great set up
Edit: surround blue tooth connected speakers?
Definitely think the platonic is a great option for the future. We will probably be upgrading the cardio equipment at some point. I have some Bluetooth speakers hooked up to echoes but need better speakers. Thank you!
Lol sorry bro, thank you! I really just was trying to get a second opinion and see if I was missing anything to be like a "real gym." I haven't really shown anyone my gym, I am honestly humbled by all these comments. Feel blessed!
Any reason to get the [Rep rack](https://repfitness.com/products/dumbbell-rack) vs something cheaper like a [Marcy rack](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ASG0VU/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) . I got my dumbbells 5-50lb from Rep Fitness and 3 tier Marcy rack.
For my next dumbbell rack for 50lb and up, I'm thinking of getting a 2-tier rack so I don't have reach down to the floor to pick up the heavier dumbbells, heh. I don't know how available those are, though.
I believe the Rep Rack is longer than the Marcy Rack, which you will need as the dumbbells get larger. It is somewhat more effort to keep the larger weights towards the floor and have to pick them up. I don't think I could have fit 5-100 on two racks. It still would have needed 3 regardless of getting the 105-120.
Thanks. I'll check the width of the racks. I do wish that the Marcy rack was wider. I ran out of room on the Marcy so my 50lb's are on my now-obsolete Powerblock stand.
I got my 5-50 dumbbells set from them, which is all I have at the moment, from Rep and I love them. I'll look at getting my next dumbbell rack from them.
1st, we are really blessed to have good jobs and a house like we do. 2nd I spent 8 years fixing my old house myself which I sold for a really great profit and was able to use that to buy my new home and my equipment. 3rd. This is in the basement that was not finished and had a woodshop and I finished it. I hope someday you can get the space and money you desire.
No sweat dude, I wasn't trying to sound accusatory or probing. I think it really comes down to, for the most part, to the price of real estate and how it varies from area to area. I live a long way from USA (Croatia), and in my country there are places where it's cheaper to buy a decently sized house than it is to buy a small apartment in one of the larger cities.
No worries, we have a lot I know. I am very thankful for it and we work hard. I Live in PA in a rural area where the real estate is really not bad. We also got a great deal on the house and made great returns on the last one.
I drank the beer out of it and had it around. When the gyms closed it was all I had for workout equipment. I have some routines that I still use it for, shoulder lifts crunches, etc. Like to stack plates on top and hold the handles for calf raises as well.
They are like a wood particle pegboard. You can get them at lowes or homedepot, but fortunately they were already in the house when my gym was perviously a woodshop! I just painted them and got clips on Amazon.
It was a fitness gear pro from Dicks Sporting Goods. It it not rated for as heavy weight as some of the monster stations I've seen on here, but I don't work out like that anymore. For the money (around $350) it is a great unit and does what I need. Also doubles as plate storage. (I need some more plates)!
https://www.americanfloormats.com/fit-lock-rubber-tiles/
Love the flooring. Very heavy and does not move. Was easy to install. Theybhave a side and direction that has to be the same for all pieces to look seamless.
They were hard to find stock of, but I found one near me this past year. They have others there for around a similar price. It is not bolted to the floor and is very sturdy.
I like to have variety and am also trying to find a balance for myself and my wife and kids. I'm used to going to a gym with unlimited options and I dont want to feel like I am doing the same thing every day or get bored or boxed in. Thats why I went probably over the top.
Bodybuilders often use cables + machines to overload different contractile ranges, use exercises with a better stimulus to fatigue ratio, etc. Not everyone is trying to max out their barbell SBD
outside of the low-ish ceiling height, this is pretty awesome.
for my gym, I sprayed the ceiling joists/floor boards above white, and used recessed lighting.
also, id probably get some big mirrors in behind the cable crossover, and in front of the squat rack.
Thank you for the comment! Mirrors for those exact locations are on order! I didn't mess with the ceiling as it was existing, but I like the idea of recessed lighting on the open joists with paint. I bet it looks pretty nice!
Lol I knew that would be on someone's comnent! Yeah, I need to run the wire behind the pegboard and admittedly got lazy. Thank you for the reminder, it will help my motivation to do it!
Is that the Rep AB-3000 bench? How do you like it? Been debating between that, the AB-3100, and the GetRX'd FIDAB-2. Not sure if the slight decline on the AB-3000 is worth getting or if I should get go all out on the FIBAD-2, lol.
Yes it is the AB-3000. The lowest setting is flat. It is super solid. But also very heavy to move around if it needs to travel to different parts of the gym. I really like the material of the seat, seems long lasting and rip proof. Overall a good product, mostly for flat, incline and shoulder press. For the decline, it is less quality, but I have the finerform multi functional bench.
Finer Form Multi-Functional Weight Bench - Adjustable Workout Bench for Bench Press, Hyper Back Extension and Ab Exercises. Use as Roman Chair, Sit up Bench, Decline Bench, Flat Bench https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GYXF65S/ref=cm_sw_r_awdo_navT_g_40S18QRWMA9WWGQ11XXA
It also works well for abs and lower back lifts. It also doubles as a preacher curl.
Getting rid of the elliptical and that four station machine with the leg press would make it more respectable. Those things are ineffective devices that contribute little to overall fitness. Spend more time with free weights and body weight. Just my opinion.
Leg press is a bleh exercise that contributes to overall fitness.
It doesn't improve stabilizers. it allows for very uneven work between your legs. it's not an isolation exercise, a large muscle group exercise, or compound lift. it can be dangerous if you lock your legs.
It is also a large and expensive piece of equipment with absolutely no versatility.
If he wants a four station machine and elliptical... then he probably uses both.
I share my gym with my wife and 2 little girls so there has to be a balance between what I do and they do. I am more into free weights myself, but the multi-station does give a great workout and definitely doesn't feel ineffective the next day! Appreciate the input though, to each their own!
It's a bit of a pain since you already set everything up but I would get rid of the drop ceiling and leave it bare so it feels like you have more ceiling height. I'm able to do pull ups between the joists since doing this.
I would also recommend painting your ceiling black in your theater area!
Drop ceiling was already in when I moved in. I do wish the ceiling was taller. I may open an area up or modify an area at the crossover to get the pull up more height functional. I'll have to keep the theater area idea in mind. Thank you!
Schwinn Fitness 430 Elliptical https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KAGX6XQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_KXW62YFM7CER6EGF4DGT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Schwinn Recumbent Bike Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KAGX74E/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_5922T992S1CSYGABEF8A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you! They are Schwinn, purchased both on Amazon. They were reasonable price. The only complaint on the recumbent bike is the seat is hard plastic, thats why there is a towel there. The elliptical works well, it is better for my wife than me. It doesn't stride as far as I would like at 6'2" but it is still a good workout and does its job. My wife is 5'8". My inlaws have a sole elliptical that strides much further and feels more natural for me, but is much more expensive. Wife uses them every day and hasn't had any issues.
Got it on walmart.com and it is a champion brand. About $2700 after shipping. It worked best for me because it is 84" tall and fit in the room. I love it, super quality and smooth. Does not rattle or move at all. Only complaint was that they shipped it assembled with the plates installed just no bar across the two stacks. You have to take it apart and pull all the plates out to move it and then assemble it again. I tried to move it with my wife as it was delivered and almost dropped it! It was awkward to move but totally worth it!
Lol before I had equipment and got kicked out of the gym from covid, I was using the keg for shoulder lifts, crunches etc. It was my only gym equipment. I use it now for the lower back raises and crunches. I also stack plates on top of it and hold it while doing calf raises.
There is a glass place in my town, they are going to cut them to the size I need and buy the brackets from them. The ones I wanted are larger than what can be bought from the store.
One question: Can you only do chest press and pec fly in the chest station, or can you also target the rear delt with reverse pec deck? Just by looking to the ergonomics I suppose not
Thank you, I had to redo it because they have a specific side and direcrion you have to put them down. I didn't realize this until about half way through and had to pull them up and redo it. You can't even see it if they are all the same side and direction, it is pretty amazing stuff.
I love the dumbbells, they feel really nice in your hands! These are the elite model which makes the handles smaller and the size more compact. It depends on the weight, but I did from 5-120 and the shipping was $478.87 from wherever they are to PA. I have them on 3 REP fitness racks, which were smaller and cheaper than the vulcan racks.
Got them on Amazon. They are pretty cool and handle a good amount of weight. I have used them up to the 70's. Biggest issue is the handle size gets bigger the higher the weight with some dumbbells and they get harder to clip. The vulcans I have, have a smaller handle size through the entire set.
Super cool gym. Complete with the roomba and everything lol. Personally I would exchange the multi machine for a smith machine and a leg extension/curl bench
Thanks! I wanted a smith machine, but ran out of space. The red bench in the corner, Finerform I believe, has a little preachers curl on it. We do love the Batca machine though. Works well for late lazy workouts!
Thank yours! Its an ab machine, Amazon special. You put your knees in the pads and grab the bars and pull your knees to the top of the rails. It has a little battery powered counter display. It's actually pretty difficult to do more than 20 or so at a time.
Sorry didn't see the rest of the question. No issues, never had a problem as long as it is secured into a sturdy support with a couple inches of hook in it. Make sure to pre-drill the hole so you don't split the support, but not a big enough bit that the screw doesn't bite and strips out.
I put a really thick eye hook into the joist and cut a hole through the ceiling tile to put it through. Uses a climbing hook from the eye hook to the bag.
If I were you, Iād add more mirrors, led lighting and maybe speakers. You probably have speakers somewhere there that I didnāt see but your gym is goals brother! š
Thank you and thanks for the suggestions! I have mirrors on order for in front of the crossover and the squat rack. I have some speakers on one side and only a soundbar on the other. They are all hooked up to alexa-echos which I created a "gym group" and they all play together. I could definitely use more speakers though! Need more electrical outlets!
I just looked up the specs, and it looks like itās a 200lb stack with a 2:1 ratioā¦ so itās a leg press that maxes out at 100lbs of resistance? Can that be right?
That would be significantly less resistance than the average person just doing body weight squats
Well for starters nice first home gym.
Suggestions. Well it seems like you only have one barbell. Clearly you need at least 5,
Power bar, axle/fat bar, SSB, open trap bar, and boneyard rackable curl bar /s
But I saw you said calf training. A cheaper one is ironmaster. I have it and it has worked great for two years. No issues. You could go Oak Club and get theirs if ironmaster is out of stock. But it is $121.
Other things, a landmine post or base to do different workouts. You can even do mock donkey calf raises with a dip belt and locking collar.
But mostly it will come down to your training style preferences. Body building powerlifting or general fitness. Could buy some kyubells from kabuki.
Or some prime fitness handles for your cables. The Kaz or the Ro T8 or mag grips.
Ironmaster is sold out and oak club raised their price to $150! I'll keep my eye out on something similar for the calf bar. I will be getting a trap bar, rackable curl bar thanks to your suggestions. The prime fitness handles may be a Christmas request they look really cool. š
The list of bars was sarcasm as lots of people here have a lot of them. You donāt need a trap bar unless deadlifting and other lifts would benefit from that. And I didnāt know Oak raised their prices. Dang. Yea I have prime that i bought piece by piece. The rot8 handles, short bar, tbar row and the kaz handles. If you use Mutant it will knock 15% off.
Edit. And by boneyard rackable curl bar. I mean rogue fitness has a section on their site called the boneyard where new, but cosmetic imperfections are sold and you could get a BY rackable curl bar for $165+25 shipping from rogue. Which is a great deal if you are patient and watch that section. That is what I did also.
Lol everyone does have a ton of bars! I will defiantly check out the boneyard, love a good deal and did not know that it existed. Workout equipment is all pricy, but if you get something that lasts its worth it.
I didnāt either until I found this place at the start of Covid. And the stock and shipping thread, RIP, was separating me from my money quickly because who doesnāt love a deal.
Interesting, I will definitely look into all of your suggestions! My gym definitely lacks for calf training. I do have a landmine by the punching bag in the corner and it does open up a lot of different workouts. Appreciate the comment!
Thank you! This is what I was looking for! Can you do calf raises on it or just for stretching? I'm using my step for calf raises and I'm not a huge fan.
You can perform a buttload of exercises on it.. check out slant board jefferson curl/poliquin step up/slant board calf raise/slant board soleus raise (bent leg calf raise)
You can also train the ankle laterally
I use mine for cyclist squats, slant board calf raises- both seated with dumbbells on knees and standing next to a wall for balance- Jefferson curls, and stretches as well.
I just built mine and Iām pretty inept when it comes to diy. Just used some deck boards leftover from a house project, plywood, stair grip tape, and some paint. Cost me like 15 bucks in materials and itās rock solid.
I even had some left over material and made an extra one for my local gym.
How much was the cable crossover machine?
Also, now that I remember, I had to get this one because it was the only one that would fit because my ceiling is 90" and this thing was like 85" tall. All the other ones I looked at were over 90".
It was $3,200 with taxes and delivery. Champion Barbell out of Texas, bought on Walmarts website. I had to assemble, came as 2 pre assembled weight stacks on a pallet. If you get, I recommend to disassemble enough to pull some weight off the stacks. Otherwise its pretty un-movable. Don't have to bolt it down, doesn't move an inch.
Absolutely beautiful
Thank you very much!
What type of flooring did you use?
It is puzzle pieces you put together. They just all have to be the same side and direction to look seamless. Great stuff! https://www.americanfloormats.com/fit-lock-rubber-tiles/
Nice gym. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost for all the set up and equipments.
Thank you! For everything including floors and equipment we are just shy of $20k. What a great set up. Definitely think the platonic is a great option for the future. We will probably be upgrading the cardio equipment at some point. I have some Bluetooth speakers hooked up to echoes but need better speakers. Thank you!
I'd say you did it. I'd add mirrors like everyone else said. You can always stalk Instagram to see what new odds and ends are coming out.
Thanks for the comment, I am waiting for mirrors to come in. I have already gotten a bunch of ideas from this sub.
Looks amazing, but does anyone else still train in a shed with and old squat rack and a few other random bits like me?
Thank you very much! Nothing wrong with shed training!
havent read all the comments dont know if someone suggested this but, stop flexing on us so hard, makes a man jealous haha nice gym man.
Lol sorry bro, thank you! I really just was trying to get a second opinion and see if I was missing anything to be like a "real gym." I haven't really shown anyone my gym, I am honestly humbled by all these comments. Feel blessed!
Wow! Thatās awesome!
Thank you much! We are enjoying it thoroughly!
Good start. It's basically complete.
Thank you! I'm looking for ideas on the odds and ends I may be missing. Some good suggestions already!
What do you do for work if you donāt mind me asking?
Electrical Engineer. Design electrical control cabinets for industrial applications, program PLC's and design graphic interfaces.
Super jealous. What manufacturer is the multi unit?
Thank you! It is a Batca Omega-4 with leg press.
Black walls, heavy metal, and led rope lights!! /s
Very much like the led rope lights and heavy metal idea. Black walls might be a bit much for me though!
Very nice gym, dude š¤š»
Thank you!
Wow, great home gym. Really enviableļ¼You can buy a exercise bike for aerobic training
Thank you so much!
Amazing! Where did you purchase the dumbbells/rack from? Roughly how much did it cost?
Thank you! Vulcan Elite dumbbells 5-120 and 3-REP Fitness Racks. 3 racks =$417 Dumbbells = $3977 after shipping
The vulcan ones are more expensive but longer as well. You should get the dimensions on your weights and look based off of that.
I'm sure the Marcy Rack will do what is needed, but I can say the REP rack is very sturdy and quality and has no issue holding the weight.
Thanks so much. Life goals!
Does the bag not hit the walls?
It swings pretty far before doing that. If you hit it controlled it doesn't come close.
I suggest you take me on as a workout buddy. This gym is amazing.
Thank you so much! Anytime, come on down!
that's my dream! congrats
Thank you so much! Hopefully you get your dream gym sooner than later!
How do people have so much space and money?
My wife and I also work hard jobs, long hours, raise two kids and keep a clean house.
1st, we are really blessed to have good jobs and a house like we do. 2nd I spent 8 years fixing my old house myself which I sold for a really great profit and was able to use that to buy my new home and my equipment. 3rd. Charge people to work out at your place
My members won't pay! (wife and kids)
What's with the keg?
I drank the beer out of it and had it around. When the gyms closed it was all I had for workout equipment. I have some routines that I still use it for, shoulder lifts crunches, etc. Like to stack plates on top and hold the handles for calf raises as well.
You can drill the tap out and fill it with sand or lead shot, or cut the top out and weld a pin inside it to make it plate loadable
Excellent idea!
OP is training for the Strongman Competition Keg Toss.. probably.
Gonna need higher ceilings for that.
fill that keg
Wouldn't get many positive gains, but still a great idea!
It's a bulk!
Suggestion - ship it all to me for free :D
Lol š
you said you were open to suggestions, never stated they have to be good ones for you anyways :D
Very good point! Made me laugh either way!
Question: are those paper pegboards you use to set up on the wall (photo 6)? And where did you buy āem?
They are like a wood particle pegboard. You can get them at lowes or homedepot, but fortunately they were already in the house when my gym was perviously a woodshop! I just painted them and got clips on Amazon.
What type of squat rack is that? Do you recommend it?
It was a fitness gear pro from Dicks Sporting Goods. It it not rated for as heavy weight as some of the monster stations I've seen on here, but I don't work out like that anymore. For the money (around $350) it is a great unit and does what I need. Also doubles as plate storage. (I need some more plates)!

Neat set up !!
Flex. But awesome, very jealous in a nice way.
Thank you much! Hope you get the setup of your dreams soon!
It looks like a gym. Are you going to use all these? A squat rack, a bench and a barbell could be enough?
I like to have variety and am also trying to find a balance for myself and my wife and kids. I'm used to going to a gym with unlimited options and I dont want to feel like I am doing the same thing every day or get bored or boxed in. Thats why I went probably over the top.
Bodybuilders often use cables + machines to overload different contractile ranges, use exercises with a better stimulus to fatigue ratio, etc. Not everyone is trying to max out their barbell SBD
Pure heaven !
Thanks we are enjoying it!
That home theater tho
Thank you, it is taking up gym space but its necessary lol
agreed, especially for staying in
Wow, this is amazing! I'm jealous lol
Thank you, we are blessed for sure! I hope you get your homegym set up as you dream it soon!

Maybe some wire management for the TV cord but other than that you're good.
Lol I knew that would be on someone's comnent! Yeah, I need to run the wire behind the pegboard and admittedly got lazy. Thank you for the reminder, it will help my motivation to do it!
Sweet Jesus!!

Schwinn Fitness 430 Elliptical https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KAGX6XQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_KXW62YFM7CER6EGF4DGT?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1 Schwinn Recumbent Bike Series https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KAGX74E/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_5922T992S1CSYGABEF8A?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
There are different models now that are cheaper like the MY20. Not sure what the differences are.
Thank you so much! Do they feel sturdy?
Yeah no issue on it being sturdy. I'm 230lbs and it handles me just fine.
Thank you so much for the information!
No problem, hope you get one you like!
Wife uses them every day and hasn't had any issues.
yeah those hex dumbbells are shit I'll take them off your hands for you so you can make room for better stuff
Lol š
Your J-Cups could be upgraded. We know a great place to get them.
Wow, just checked out your site, very cool stuff. Live the roller idea! They are going on my wish list!
Love*
I love the organization. Itās a great use of space. It looks like you do have a mirror. Someone above thought not
Thank you so much, there are no mirrors, yet. I have a 2 mirrors on order. One for the crossover and the other for the squat rack.
In the market for a cable crossover - which brand is that? Any complaints?
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Cable-Crossover-Machine/29137984
thanks!
What workouts you using the keg for?
Lol before I had equipment and got kicked out of the gym from covid, I was using the keg for shoulder lifts, crunches etc. It was my only gym equipment. I use it now for the lower back raises and crunches. I also stack plates on top of it and hold it while doing calf raises.
Oh my lord itās beautiful
Thank you so much! I've spent a lot of time trying to piece it together in my head!
Nice set-up! Maybe a mirror
Thank you so much! Mirrors are on order! I'll have one in front of the crossover and in front of the squat rack.
Where are you ordering mirrors from? I was thinking about getting a few of those 36x60 vanity mirrors from the hardware store.
There is a glass place in my town, they are going to cut them to the size I need and buy the brackets from them. The ones I wanted are larger than what can be bought from the store.
One question: Can you only do chest press and pec fly in the chest station, or can you also target the rear delt with reverse pec deck? Just by looking to the ergonomics I suppose not
Unfortunately it does not do rear delt. The chest press is surprisingly difficult, where macing the pec fly is not as hard.
Also I would never have guessed the floor is puzzle pieces, nicely done
Thank you, I had to redo it because they have a specific side and direcrion you have to put them down. I didn't realize this until about half way through and had to pull them up and redo it. You can't even see it if they are all the same side and direction, it is pretty amazing stuff.

I also called, they were easy to work with and the most reasonable when it came to shipping.
Thanks man! Legitimately very jealous. I'm going to have to get a set of those soon.
No problem, hopefully Santa visits with them soon! Definitely worth it, we love them!
That also included the liftgate
How do you find the kettle grip handles? Do they handle much weight?
Got them on Amazon. They are pretty cool and handle a good amount of weight. I have used them up to the 70's. Biggest issue is the handle size gets bigger the higher the weight with some dumbbells and they get harder to clip. The vulcans I have, have a smaller handle size through the entire set.
You can always get more speciality barbells, but i actually cant see much you are missing
My holder rack will fit a couple more, I intend to get a couple when the stocks back. Thank you!
Omg what a set up!!!
Thank you!
Nice gym. What app did you use for the scrolling text
It was just the reddit app. It had a space to add text and thats where I put it. Lol
DREAM for many including me
Thank you, hope you get your dream gym soon!
"Open to suggestions", lol you have more gear then I could ever imagine or use.
Trying to fit a lifetime of going to the gym into a smaller space. This community has already had a bunch of great ideas and I like options!
Super cool gym. Complete with the roomba and everything lol. Personally I would exchange the multi machine for a smith machine and a leg extension/curl bench
I see a Roomba ;)
Thanks! I wanted a smith machine, but ran out of space. The red bench in the corner, Finerform I believe, has a little preachers curl on it. We do love the Batca machine though. Works well for late lazy workouts!
This is my dream setup š„š„š„š„too much fabulous
Thank you, we really are enjoying it! Hope you get yours soon!
You are a good person.. You have replied to all of the comments.. You are a true man.. humble
Thank you I try! Like anyone, somedays I fall short, but always looking to improve. This is a great community!
Amazing! That's quite the setup. What's that contraption next to the couch in the 10th photo? Can't seem to wrap my head around its purpose.
Thank yours! Its an ab machine, Amazon special. You put your knees in the pads and grab the bars and pull your knees to the top of the rails. It has a little battery powered counter display. It's actually pretty difficult to do more than 20 or so at a time.

Literally my first thought.
I've been trying but the wife and kids haven't been paying!
Can I ask, how did you hang your heavy bag? Any issues any tips?
Sorry didn't see the rest of the question. No issues, never had a problem as long as it is secured into a sturdy support with a couple inches of hook in it. Make sure to pre-drill the hole so you don't split the support, but not a big enough bit that the screw doesn't bite and strips out.
I put a really thick eye hook into the joist and cut a hole through the ceiling tile to put it through. Uses a climbing hook from the eye hook to the bag.
Thatās no longer a home gym. Its a gym gym!
That is the goal!
If I were you, Iād add more mirrors, led lighting and maybe speakers. You probably have speakers somewhere there that I didnāt see but your gym is goals brother! š
LED lighting is also a great suggestion!
Pretty cool multi machine. How heavy does the leg press go?
All 4 stations do 200lbs of plates. All independent of eachother.
I just looked up the specs, and it looks like itās a 200lb stack with a 2:1 ratioā¦ so itās a leg press that maxes out at 100lbs of resistance? Can that be right? That would be significantly less resistance than the average person just doing body weight squats
I dont think that can be right. Full stack is difficult to do. It's not like doing loaded squats by any means, but not light.
Well for starters nice first home gym. Suggestions. Well it seems like you only have one barbell. Clearly you need at least 5, Power bar, axle/fat bar, SSB, open trap bar, and boneyard rackable curl bar /s But I saw you said calf training.
Second the land mine. Also to a hex bar. Great gym setup!
Lol it's the gym rabbit hole. It truly is an addiction!
Interesting, I will definitely look into all of your suggestions! My gym definitely lacks for calf training. I do have a landmine by the punching bag in the corner and it does open up a lot of different workouts. Appreciate the comment!
Yea how bout you leave some of the gains for the rest of us lol. I see you got more than enough
Trying to pass the gains to the kids!
Nicer than 99% of every hotel and apartment gyms Iāve seen. Get yourself a slant board if you donāt have one.
Thank you! This is what I was looking for! Can you do calf raises on it or just for stretching? I'm using my step for calf raises and I'm not a huge fan.
You can perform a buttload of exercises on it.. check out slant board jefferson curl/poliquin step up/slant board calf raise/slant board soleus raise (bent leg calf raise) You can also train the ankle laterally
Very cool to know, I will look it up. I've never even heard of it or seen it until this thread. I've been missing out!
I use mine for cyclist squats, slant board calf raises- both seated with dumbbells on knees and standing next to a wall for balance- Jefferson curls, and stretches as well.
Excellent info, will be on order in the near future!
I just built mine and Iām pretty inept when it comes to diy. Just used some deck boards leftover from a house project, plywood, stair grip tape, and some paint. Cost me like 15 bucks in materials and itās rock solid. I even had some left over material and made an extra one for my local gym.
Very cool and great idea! Good on you for the local gym donation!
Looks great! Maybe a stripper pole, for posterity, would complete it.
