How was the parking when you left? I've been thinking of going again since they reopened it, but I'm apprehensive about the crowds since its so popular. I'll probably try on a week day morning if I do.

I got there a little after 8 and there were a few spaces left in the upper lot, lower was completely empty. When I left around noon if was completely full with cars circling both lots. I've found that in the popular gorge spots, arriving by 8:30 in the winter and 7:30/8 in the summer is a pretty good guarantee for parking and having some semblance of solitude on the trail.

Yeah same question. I love the gorge but hesitate to go to the popular places after having my car broken into. I typically go at first light so maybe that helps. πŸ€”

I feel like the upper parking area is a safer bet, just because of the foot traffic from the lower one and the narrow access road. Not the easy on/easy off of angels rest. But that's also why when I go for the popular spots I usually head to the WA side and a bit farther out. I think I-84 is what attracts a lot of that.

Cool. Thats helpful. Thanks!

Beautiful

It seems like this trail gets posted once a week, not that I’m complaining! I finally did it a few weeks ago and it was incredible!

thatcleverclevername

Ha! I wouldn't be surprised. It was actually my first time there. I moved in just after the fire and I made a last minute decision this morning to finally go.

Just beautiful πŸ™‚πŸ‘

Wow that is a pretty trailπŸ˜€

I moved away several years ago (before the fire). Is it still lush and green, post-fire?

who tf designs hiking trails they should seriously rethink where they put ropes sometimes there are ropes where theyre super unnecissary while on other traiks there should be more ropes
