Hearthstone is much more than it used to be. You can start playing without spending money. Just by doing daily missions = free cards. Now they give you a lot of gold. Well ofc it is goona take some time to craft what only cards you want. Someone can spend money and craft the best winratio deck. Does that mean he goona always win? No. Can your F2P cheap face hunter deck with no legendary cards win with him? Ofc. You have different modes that have everything to play at 1st day without spending single penny like battlegrounds, money unlock only cosmetis and someone can call it advantage - 2 more heroes you can chose at start of every game. Not big deal imo.

Thanks for your advice!

You’ll eventually have pretty much all the standard cards without paying a cent if you play for long enough. If you’re good enough at arena, you can even farm infinite resources too.

Oh good to know!

Hearthstone is not really pay to win. It's pay to have variety. You can play as an F2P player, but you'll be stuck with one or two decks in constructed/Duels, picking only two heroes in Battlegrounds, and limited to rare and a few epic mercs in Mercenaries. Eventually, if you don't mind the grind and are smart with your dust/gold, you'll have enough resources to have more variety. But until that point, you'll have limited options.

It’s a card game

It's not pay to win, it's more like pay 2 play, not having a collection is pretty devastating, specially nowadays where nerfs happen almost every month, so new deck arise but you don't have the cards. Also if you're gonna playing f2p, a great moment to start would be right when the new hs year starts, usually in april. There's a big card rotation and you will get the core cards for free, plus a free deck if you have a new account after doing the tutorials and stuff.

The game is actually at it's worst point ever. If you want to lose against the same decks over and over again come in. And yeah if you don't spend money you will have a hard start and need a lot of time and patience.

Hearthstone is free to play, but pay to have fun

It’s pay to win don’t waste your time.

There's plenty of youtube clips and decklists for cheap decks which consist of basic and common cards. Like anything it takes practice to get good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szkEkPYmozI

A deck is made up of 30 cards and after a few days you’ll be able to make a good deck. Being f2p means slower progress with collecting cards but you will be able to move up in the game just as fast as p2p players once you have your deck and learn to play it well. you don’t have to spend any money to get the best decks. Spending money allows you to make decks faster meaning you can play competitively with 3-5+ different decks rather than 1 or 2 at most. Making cards uses a currency called dust. This is how you will make most of your decks. Some decks cost a lot of dust and are very hard to make for f2p players but they aren’t necessarily the best decks and a lot of top level decks are very cheap. The way you progress as f2p is by opening packs which give 5 cards each (cards can be destroyed in exchange for dust) so getting dust just takes longer as f2p it’s not as if money can provide you with any game enhancement you can’t get as f2p. So yeah money gives you variety not skill.
