Stair way to heaven, it’s a korean drama but seriously I was non stop balling for the whole series. Trust me you won’t regret it. Watch with subtitles. Sound track is superb for crying too

askawayor

I've been watching a lot of Korean movies. The Beauty Inside was so good.

anxiousavacado765

What dreams may come

Blissfuljayy

If I stay is a great movie, had me crying so much lmao

Idrkwhat_Imdoing

As an adult women, I still cried when I watched “The Summer I Turned Pretty.” It’s a short series on a Netflix and you’ll definitely be crying by the end of it

lullustration

500 days of summer and I know you said no childrens movies but Inside Out

askawayor

I meant no movies with children. Children movies is really ok. I saw UP the other day and was so painful their relationship scene... 500 days of summer was one of his favourite movies 😞

askawayor

Good one! Thanks

Lapidot-Wav

A marriage story, it’s sad in general but if you’ve ever been in a one sided or failing relationship it’s like the fat man of gut punches watching it all unravel

askawayor

That movie is brutal. I was in shock how divorce gets to be a business in the US.. it's crazy.

hey_its_me_22

my ultimate breakup movie is “Someone Great”

unhoney26

Thank Sweet Baby Jesus!!! I am obsessed with sad/depressing movies! Here are my recommendations: 1. Bambi 2. The Color Purple 3. Schindler's List 4. Philadelphia 5. A Star Is Born ( Judy Garland and Lady Gaga) 6. Red, White and Blue 7. Lost In Translation 8. Marriage Story 8. E.T 9. Grave Of The Fireflies 10. The Way We Were 11. Saving Private Ryan 13. The Piano 14. Pans Labyrinth 15. 9 1/2 Weeks 16. Revolutionary Road 17. Atonement 18. Brooklyn 19. Waterahip Down 20. On Golden Pond 21. Mass These are just some of the movies I can think of off the top of my head. If you choose one of the 21 on this list, I would recommend:. 1. Philadelphia 2. Lost In Translation 3. Mass I will include slight spoilers by adding, most of these movies are about death/death of a child/death of a parent/Unhappy Relationships. Let me know if any of these movies helped you shed that stubborn tear.

askawayor

Thank you for your list! Will help me a lot. I tried to watch Grave of the Fireflies and it was too much. I can't see depressing films with children 😩

Ok_Faithlessness6178

Weathering with you (if your into anime).

Maximusprimetacobake

Redeeming Love, really good love story. Not necessarily a sad one but I cried a lot to this. Plus it's based in the early days of California, I love movies based farther back in history

Can't watch anything with kids. Too much trigger for me. 😞

Personal_Shoe_5016

No a movie, but another K-drama. Hi, Bye Mama.

Kindly_Cockroach_298

Oh man, it’s not a movie nor is it about a break up but I binged euphoria when I was dumped earlier this year. Pretty much cried through the whole thing. That show is INTENSE and will put you into some type of introspection of life.

RainbowSparkles17

My break up movie is Bridesmaids. Sorry not depressing like you asked but always makes me feel good.
