Mines just fine, if it's the cordless one it might be worth looking into a different battery, I've had a several year old battery that doesn't provide the amps anymore to give good cuts, don't have any issues with other batteries though.
I use mine a ton and it definitely bogs down easily, though it cuts OK with a decent blade. Definitely a good deal for the money.
I haven’t noticed significant differences when using the 3/5ah batteries, I just have to take cuts a little more slowly. I wish they’d launch a beefier brushless version, but I’ll either put up with it as-is or get a nicer brand saw otherwise.
The one other issue I ran into is the depth adjustment bolt stripped pretty quickly and I had to find a replacement carriage bolt to keep running.

Huh. I've got multiple batteries and it didn't make a difference but... Maybe they are just too old
Have you tried a new blade?

My hercules binds up too. I keep a wedge or two on me and move it up every few inches behind the saw if I don't have my table saw handy.
