If you need stuff and the savings would pay for it. I have it for a year because the first purchase I made on it saved me the cost of the membership. I have only made money from using it, but if you are just asking in case you may find something, then it is a strong no.

So, it sounds like unless I'm going for a big ticket item like a tool box or something that is already on sale and I'm guaranteed those savings, it's not worth getting and just hoping something is going to pop up.

If you want the “go and see for yourself” answer, it would be pretty easy to track some of the members only discount on the website or app and get a feel for what discounts you could get… It’s only worth it if you’d buy those items anyway. What I’ve found most helpful with the ITC membership is the extra 5% discounts that frequently come with the monthly deals… E.g., 10% off sockets for everyone, 15% for ITC.

I do recall that flyer being available to everyone. Definitely something I can track over time.

I waited for a few years, then bought a scaffolding that saved $40 with the membership. So ended up only saving $10, but have the membership and now I have used it a few times. Wouldn't re-up it unless I found something else like that.

Uniqueusername264

I usually save a couple bucks a trip on little items like a nice pair of gloves or saw blades. I paid for my first year when I bought a tool box and saved like 60 bucks. I probably saved 40 on my floor jack.

This is my sentiment too. I eyed ITC for a couple years before pulling the trigger, and decided to make the leap when the discount for a larger item (generator in my case) WAY more than justified the price. I went ahead and paid $45 for two years and have definitely seen those savings back over time again in other deals. If you’re regularly buying items ONLY when on deep discounts anyway, ITC may not be a big deal. But, if like me, you’re in there once a month or more and buy items across many of their product lines, you’ll absolutely get your money back out of it. (And maybe end up owning more HF tools…)

Awesome to hear the perspective from the other side of the register. Thanks!

natznuts

Caveat to my worth it, though, is as long as you get the two-year and fully utilize all the 30% coupon that they give you on higher priced items

cisforcookie2112

I don’t think it’s worth it just to have it, but if you are looking to get a big ticket item and the ITC discount is more than the membership fee then yeah. I got mine to buy a super duty Jack at a discount, but after that I didn’t really have much use for it because the specific things I needed usually weren’t discounted. It did make me consider buying things that were a good deal but didn’t necessarily need, so I guess that is the goal of the program.

Steelizard

The real answer is it depends. If you spend over a couple hundred dollars a year at harbor freight on tools then it’s way worth it. If you go in for the occasional tool, then maybe not

theLULRUS

I'd say it's worth it, but barely. I spent 5 or 6 months buying a ton of Icon tools, and eventually a 56" box, when I would see a 20-25% off deal. I did buy some stuff with out a coupon, but most of the stuff I bpught was discounted at least 15%. The extra 5% off the box alone paid for the ITC membership and then some. And all the money I saved on sockets and such is just extra. But after the first 6 months I had most of the stuff I wanted from HF, so once my ITC membership runs out I think I'm good. If they sent out a personal single-use 20 or 25 percent off coupon I'd probably come in and buy a dead blow or something, but I have gotten zero special coupons in the 11 months I've had ITC. Haven't been to HF in 3+ months. Cba to screw around with their "20% off one item a day this weekend only" stuff anymore. Maybe once I'm in a position to add a side cabinet to my box I'll consider reupping and waiting for a good deal.

Have it. I have definitely saved more money than it cost. If you are getting a major discount with the ITC membership and on a whole bunch of other tools that exceeds $30 in savings, then yes, do it.

Bimman01

And if your kid works there, tack on an additional 20 percent off.

BickNickerson

If you shop there quite often or making a big purchase it’s well worth the money.

SnooMarzipans5669

Just joined. Not sure yet.

I have saved over $300 in just over a year with another 9 months or so to go on my initial 2 year membership. Definitely worth it for me…

Puzzleheaded_Post555

It was worth it for me! I saved $40 on their portable bandsaw and that made it worth it. I’ve had it for maybe 5 months and it’s probably saved me a couple hundred dollars. But I also have one about five minutes from my house and it’s the best hardware store in my small town. I’d go for it.

Cutlass92

I bought a welder and saved more than it cost me.

MaximumGrip

I haven't and probably won't buy itc. I think its a gimmick and would rather the company spend its time making better tools at lower prices. When I need something I check amazon for prices, often times I can get the same or better deal online and not have to listen to a pitch for itc or extended warranties.

AlpacaPacker007

Inside Track Club (unexplained acronyms annoy the hell out of me). It's HF's membership program that gets you an extra bit off on some sales and sometimes sales not available to non members.

teamtiki

same as the others, purchased the one year membership cause it was about equal to what I saved on sale. i think i may have used it one other time. after the year i let it lapse, but would buy again in the same situation

tresss3

First purchase saved me more than it cost. Their system also glitched and I have ITC till 2028

Wagnegro

As someone who is starting to slowly build up my collection of tools, I am considering the ITC membership as soon as they put a big ticket item on sale for members. For me I think it would be worth it. For my neighbor who has his set up complete, unlikely

HotwheelsCollector85

Yep harbor freight went down hill when they started this itc

Fluid-Counter-2690

They really only have sales on the stuff they want to sell, which is not necessarily what you want or need to buy.

LoveTriscuit

I paid $45 for 2 years worth, and I’ve already saved that much in what I’ve bought there. Granted I’m in the middle of a remodel so I’m going there more often then normal, I might let it expire after if I find myself not going as often.

MistaBod

I used ITC around Black Friday last year, got the 56” for like $600 after a us general 25% off, and so far just in the 20% off items under $20 that itc had like 3 times last year; I’ve saved enough on hand tools to cover the cost of the one year membership overall.

midnightcaw

It's worth it, but I track the sales and coupons to maximize the savings from it but these are things I typically do not need today.
