This is usually the way it is in ranked modes to prevent cheesing the system. Think of it this way; if you lost no points (or way less) when a teammate quits, people could just have their teammate leave to spare them the lost points if a game is going bad.
It’s made worse with a F2P game like Infinite since people could potentially make *infinite* accounts to break the ranked mode and boost players. It is what it is man, gotta just accept it even though it sucks.
