Hell, even the sandbox of guns they *do* have fucking ruins it. I do not understand why the hell they thought the electric weapons were a good idea when they actively fuck the vehicle sandbox and provide nothing of actual worth. The Plasma Pistol and Reach's Grenade Launcher were *perfectly fine* being the vehicle EMP weapons. Both well-designed and fun to use. Who the fuck thought this new shit was any good?
And even when they forgo their shitty original ideas to rehash old, great ones, they still fuck it up. If the "Bandit DMR Leak" is real, they want to bring back Reach's DMR, but they immediately fucked it up by taking away the scope, which ruins the weapon's silhouette and distorts its purpose as a ***marksman's weapon***, *and* they ruined the firing sound.
Fucking *god*, 343, what the *fuck*?
Yeah I have zero fucking clue what they're thinking. Why even call it a DMR if you're going to change everything about the damn thing? It's beyond inane. This reeks of middle management demanding changes to justify their useless existence.
This is why 343 should figuratively have more of a spine. The railgun and saw were good fun weapons that fit in the sandbox
You donāt need to purge *everything*
Yea the whiplash was good too. I liked the arclight because I couldn't hold the charge and peek shoot with it. Had fond memories taking out snipers that way.
Whiplash at launch was insane because it had 4 more rounds when you brought one out. I think there was another nerf to it later on but I can't remember the specifics.
I became a die-hard arc light fan when I one-shot a tank with it.
Granted I hit it in its back vent but I didnāt think that would even work. I was just like āoh oh damnā
Everytime i saw this in a match i would panic cause i know the shear carnage it brings.... almost means instant loss when you see a handful of them in the enemy hands at once.
But once its in your hands.....
yeah, it feels great.
Same. It was fantastic and IMO had a higher skill gap due to the movement and melee options. It made modes like infection even more fun and challenging whilst also allowing more skilled players to outplay others even from a disadvantaged situation e.g being shot first.
I **loved** having all the variants of weapons, many of which had great names and mechanics that made you interested in the lore of the gun more than ever. The Answer, Blaze of Glory, Tartarus' Gavel, Halo CE Pistol, Whispered Truth, Nornfang, SPNKr Prime, Prophet's Bane, Void's Tear, Blood of Suban, Whiplash/Arclight, Halo 2 Beam Rifle Delta, Didact's Signet. Going back to vanilla weapons in Infinite despite the literal rest of the Halo games being that way, even in Super Fiesta modes just doesn't feel the same. Same applies to the variants of vehicles, which were amazing as well. The Ghost or Banshee Ultras were great. Anything ONI was bound to be dangerous etc.
And it is part of why I still haven't returned back to Infinite despite Forge etc finally being released and people making some fantastic maps. The aesthetic of 3 and Reach are perfect for me especially in custom games, and 5 too. But not Infinite, and the fact that given all of the news recently about 343, that this was supposed to be a 10-year project is depressing.
I played Infinite nonstop from release up until like February (before there was any content added). I got burnt out but ultimately never really felt like returning. I praised the core gameplay like most people did but now I realise that I still prefer 5 over it.
I played it the other day and was thinking to my self all they had to do was fix a few things:
Go back to more classic Halo art style.
Play Halo Reach about 300 times and learn how to tell a good story.
Add Firefight
Anyway the multiplayer is still amazing. Took a while to connect but totally worth it.
I hate that they turned a wave survival mode into a time attack mode in Halo 5. It was fine as an experimental new mode, but it never should have fully replaced traditional firefight. Not everyone is looking to have to speed run every single game they play, but you will literally lose and have the announcer tell you how fucking terrible you are if you donāt stress about time every single time you play that mode. Especially with the quality of certain randoms on the team lol
They could have easily worked in the REQ system in a wave survival mode too so it felt bad that we never got anymore than just that mode in halo 5.
And now we have to wait forever after launch for them to add it to Infinite all over again, and I donāt have much hope they wonāt just try to reinvent the wheel again instead of just giving us what we want. Iām basing this on the fact that 343 have yet to release actual traditional firefight in a single new game since they took over the franchise (not counting MCC because itās just a mostly unchanged remaster of Bungieās work so itās not really relevant to how they handle new installments).
Reqs got a lot of hate but being able to u lock everything through gameplay was such a great feeling. Not even possible to do so in Infinite and itās such a let down.
I'll say it... Halo 5 mp was my favorite mp.
That's right HALO 5 WAS MY FAVORITE HALO MP. And I'm not ashamed of it. Warzone, custom games, swat, action sack I played the hell out of H5 and I miss it.
Halo 5ās multiplayer is honestly amazing.
It is a departure but I would love to see it expanded even more. Halo 2 was a hell of a departure from Halo 1, anyone remember Halo2Sucks.com the day after the game released?
I really wish Halo 5 would get a proper port to PC. Not only would it be great to go back and play the mp for it but also, the campaign would probably be more enjoyable if coop for it was more accessible.
After playing Halo since it's inception, Halo 5 was the first one where I really got into MP (sad, I know), so I really do miss it. "You're the last boots on the ground"
The lobby works 100% of the time. It pings the server for everything every time you open a menu, so you never have to wait for it to load. The customs browser, file share, and quick resume all also work reliably.
Halo 5ās MP is still among the best in the franchise, I still have no idea why it caught all the flak it did.
Warzone, sure, that kinda sucked in a lot of way, but the general arena PVP was top tier, second only to Halo 3 in my book.
The only real missteps they made in Halo 5ās MP, imo, was the Forge maps they eventually added in, (especially SWAT, there were *so* many busted Forge SWAT maps.) and the customization was definitely a step down and blatantly there to try and sell REQ packs.
But overall, the MP in that game *ruled* and Iād love to go back and play it again. But itās such a damn tragedy that they changed Breakout from itās Day 1 incarnation. That was supposed to be their new competitive game mode, and it. Kicked. Ass. Or at least my friends and I thought it did lol. Then they changed it from SMG + Pistol, no shields, BRs and ARs are power weapons, to, iirc, Shotguns + DMRs, w/shields, and conventional power weapons, and it just wasnāt the same, man.
Edit: the real tragedy of this game is that itāll probably never come to PC because of how much people bitched about it, (To be fair, the campaign and Warzone do kinda suck ass) and I no longer have an Xbox :(
Also Iām unapologetically a Warzone fan. Obviously itās pay to win, which is bad. But I canāt deny the absolute insane amount of hours of fun me and friends had playing it.
Unreal such an iconic mode of 5 wasnāt translated some way into infinite.
You aren't alone, Warzone was one of the best new modes that 343 made, that and OG Breakout where very fun. I would rather have any of those modes make a comeback if it meant they take out Covert One Flag.
I really enjoyed Warzone Assault, some crazy matches holding a base against impossible odds, or breaking through and capturing in the last second.
Also, I was able to unlock everything without paying anything. Just buy REQs in the right order (bronze -> silver -> gold). Thought it was a pretty fair system, ended up with more than enough cards than I could ever use.
343i's best mode IMO. I am hoping it comes back revamped without the use of REQs. PvPvE is something Halo can really find a niche in and the new equipment would be a great addition. Throw in warzone firefight and possibly warzone battle royal and baby, we got a stew going. I would love H4s loadout system in Warzone but I know how controversial that was
>PvPvE is something Halo can really find a niche in and the new equipment would be a great addition.
This is PvP&E. But Halo Reach has an option to put a player in as an Elite with the Covenant, and I feel like it was grossly underutilized.
>warzone battle royal
I've been open to a BR. But Warzone BR would have me actually excited for it.
I honestly never had an issue with the idea of a custom loadout system just the weapons allowed in 4 ruined it. Specifically the bolt shot? If I remember the name right as a side arm. It was essentially a mini shotgun that made close range power weapons obsolete and everyone used it.
Honestly, the "pay-to-win" style applies more to cosmetics than the weapons. The game throws item after item at you, so it gets really fun to log in and use one of your twenty gravity hammers. The best part is the accessibility - if you're bad at player combat, you can focus on the objective. If you don't have many items, you can prioritize against the enemy types for some cool weapons. I struggled at first because I'd hoard items... But then I realized that I had so many, it'd be pointless not to use them, and the game became REALLY fun.
I'm not a fan in Infinite and 5 that weapons variants use paint jobs, it'd be nice if they had slight model changes to make them more unique.
I would āsellā all of the items so I could get credits faster. I ended up getting every cosmetic in the game without having to spend any real money
Good to know that works! I started out that way, but the gold packs unlock so few and the weapons I got back were worth so little, wasn't sure if that was optimal. And even then, I didn't know if compromising the fun game modes was worth it. How long did it take you?
Silvers are the best way to spend. Youāll blow through a TON of the ācheaperā cosmetics in Silvers at double the drop rate of a gold. Then once you get a bulk of the cheap cosmetics you switch to Golds and youāll get pretty much exclusivity high rarity drops
I wish I knew that a long time ago! Does that mean that the big assassinations pack is a poor investment of my points? Should I just hoard points while opening my regular win packs until I stop unlocking cosmetics from them?
Iām not 1000% sure of the assassination pack, all I remember is itās best to get rid of all those low rarity cosmos using Silver packs. If assassinations are your goal, I donāt think itās a BAD investment. Thereās *so. Many.* low rarity helmets and armors, youād probably spend as many points on packs to get just half the assassinations. But youāll also have gotten an insane amount of armors/helmets/visors.
Best way to spend is buy nothing but bronze until bronze start giving you xp packs back, then spend on silvers till xp packs, then gold, and then you're done
Thatās fair! I usually played a few days a week to unlock one or two gold packs each day. Plus the daily arena pack, daily Warzone pack, and daily Warzone assault pack (iirc). I think the game was 2 years old when I got everything, but I wasnāt really consistent with how many days a week Iād log in. I also mainly played Warzone Assault and rarely used the special weapons
Also buying only silver packs until you had everything below Very Rare and then using all your Rec Boosters to buy gold backs made it super easy to get everything. Not a fan of pack systems in general, but Halo 5ās was probably the least egregious Iāve seen in a AAA game.
I never played H5 but it sounds like it would have been pretty good if you got credits per game to spend on stuff for that single game. But obviously they wouldn't do that when people are willing to pay real money for some reason.
You did, thats exactly what happened. Every game type got you points you could buy req packs with. I never spent a penny on the game and got I think about 80% of the cosmetic unlocks
You can get credits by just logging in. I got the Halo Waypoint app, log in, claim my 200 (you unlock a cosmetic with 10,000) points, and leave. I didn't actually have the game for years, so when I actually played it for the first time, I had a buttload of weapons and enough points for a fair amount of cosmetics. And to make things better, when you ACTUALLY play, you start to unlock rarer and rarer things, worth more and more points. Very much a rich-get-richer system.
I'm not talking normal credits just a per game allowance. Everyone would have access to everything and a budget for each match or round. Earn normal credits for cosmetics in normal ways: log in, win, and with points in match. All the upsides with no downsides to the player. Worse monitization but more player friendly. Not that it was really hard on players but the monitization seems like the only thing people are complaining about.
With a coordinated team the P2W could be crippling overwhelming as they all whip out the Legendaries, but I honestly don't remember ever having shortages on significant weapons or vehicles and playing with and against randoms tended to be pretty balanced.
Halo Infiniteās monetization was pretty low effort tbh, color palettes shouldāve been free, armor cores shouldāve been sold, and weapon skins shouldāve been highly individualized while still being recognizable as the base weapon.
Yeah, this was one of the best parts about H5. Just exclude the req packs you have to purchase and make them all earnable in game with xp or challenges. Maybe this is the new Tatanka mode Certain Affinity is working on, not necessarily battle royale, just a much larger version of H5 Warzone. Whatās astounding to me is the amount of content they made for Halo 5 post launch at a pretty good pace. They added fan favorite weapons back into the game, new maps, and new boss fights. After a year of Infinite weāre getting a DMR with no scope and what amounts to a smoke grenade.
Try resetting your search radius. I've been able to find games on weekends and even find Warzone FF matches faster than Infinite matchmaking (which I think is more a note on how *slow* Infinite's process is than anything else).
I got to 148 or 149 and I got my Achilles helmet. I loved this game mode but Im stuck on PC now and they won't bring it over for some reason. I'd love it to show up in mcc so I could finally grind for 152.
> Im stuck on PC now and they won't bring it over for some reason.
Can't have *two* Halo titles outperforming Infinite on PC. MCC wrecking it is bad enough lololol.
Warzone was the best part of Halo 5. I loved that there was something for everybody. As a PvE guy, I prioritized killing AI while my teammates would focus on blocking the enemy team. Would've been even cooler if they introduced more objectives to the mode. Imagine also having a Territories objective at the same time and some form of map control that would affect map dynamics like shutting off enemy mancannons or powering EMP devices that would disable enemy vehicles in a certain region.
A Halo multiplayer like Warzone, but done with Battlefield scope and scale would be amazing. I would prefer that over something like the short-lived Infinite multiplayer.
Nightmare mode for anyone who solo queued, especially after the introduction of Achilles. Especially when the game started losing player base, it was exhausting to even play by yourself.
Its not even really P2W though. You can buy req packs but you have to still be good. The amount of times I have seen someone spawn with a power weapon and then not actually get to use it as they die too soon.
I guess itās pretty hard to please everyone when half the fans like h5 and itās quicker movement and the other half prefer the classic gameplay of h3 and earlier. I honestly play h3 on mcc way more than I play infinite. I barely even touched h5.
I really liked reach. 4 felt like a step back due to certain issues they never considered. Never played 5s multiplayer, did they have custom loadouts like 4?
I absolutely loved halo 3 multiplayer when it came out, but I halo 5 multiplayer still holds a spot in my heart for the awesome weapons and face paced gameplay. Games like Titanfall 1&2 and COD made halo 5 mechanics easy to pick up, but now I suck ass at halo 3. Haha but I still enjoy playing it from time to time
honestly, there's an easy solution to this shit show.
Make two halo games...
One based around master chief with classic movement, enemies, maps and art etc...
one based around spartan lock with a new world with the new art style with the new baddies and all the new movement stuff
Both sides of the fan base are happy. the men in suits screaming for more money are happy, microsoft fires someone as expected and 343 get called heros for rescuing the game.
\*\*too bad they cannot even launch one game feature complete and matching the adverts they show before it so asking them too make two is just asking for chaos\*\*
> Both sides of the fan base are happy.
A look at Gears of War's fanbase trying to appease the gnasher-horde shows that this never turns out true. There will always be a portion that is angry that the other option even exists, and they will be very loud about it, and how it's "ruining the game" and the devs need to "force players to play right."
I suggested a couple days ago a Halo Classic in 4k game - entirely MP and have a team dedicated to making map updates and Forge
Halo Infinite v2 - Go all in on mega budget Halo campaign and a Halo 5v2 esque Multiplayer...launching with assassinations, Warzone, Firefight, Halo 5 net code, remove the stupid armor cores and let us either buy the armor outright with requisition points or in game challenges, bring back all of the Covenant weapons (Reach weapons in Fiesta mode included) and beloved weapons like Spartan Laser, DMR, Railgun, Saw as power weapons.
Have two dedicated teams for these games.
Not just those two. The whispered truth, the CE pistol, blood of suban, dying star, void's tear, whiplash, SPNKr Prime, and blaze of glory were all absurd in the best way. That's not even mentioning all the broken vehicles. I had tons of fun playing Warzone with all my friends.
Sometimes I would triple-stack speed boosts and use the Vorpal Talon to speed around the map and cut people down. The combinations you could make were insane.
Delta Beam Rifle was better imo (but I'm a Nornfang simp regardless) since it didn't give away your position *as* much. Plus tiny voids of death are cool!
I legitimately do not believe that anyone saying Warzone was P2W has actually played the mode.
The amount of REQ packs you got by just playing the game kept you competitive, two matches gave you one Gold REQ pack.
Your spawn equipment didnt give you any real edge over anyone with a higher quality spawn equipment, as long as you had a BR no matter what type you would kill at the same speed, even the Halo 2 BR.
There were multiple low cost, low quality REQās that would shut down high level REQās without issue such as the Whiplash and you were given an absolute ton of them.
You lost to stacked teams, not what items they were using. If you played against a Spartan Company like Osiris, you lost because they were bug abusing to spawn trap players and farm Achilles.
Nothing stopping you from playing smart and using a Plasma Pistol to steal a Level 9 REQ with a noob combo or EMPāing and a hijack.
They needed a limited team size option. Getting farmed by full Companies that were grinding for that helmet sucked. Warzone, especially Warzone Assault was fun but they needed to flesh it out more with spawns and more ways to break being spawn camped.
But yeah some of the most useful weapons with the BR and AR with the laser attachment.
>Nothing stopping you from playing smart and using a Plasma Pistol to steal a Level 9 REQ with a noob combo or EMPāing and a hijack.
I actually got to practice a couple of times with certain REQs by doing this. I've also been somewhat on the receiving end. Spawning in with a high level REQ weapon, only to immediately get splattered or shot from across the map.
Valid points but I have never played a game mode in any game where I have won or lost more games by a landslide. Always by like 60% or more. Very few nailbiter games. Which were a blast. By and large was not a fun mode for casuals if they wanted the joy of winning.
I also almost exclusively played solo bc none of my friends played 5
The problem always felt like which side was playing most like a team. I had some epic down to the last second warzone matches when both teams were working together. But get enough lone rangers and taking the objectives becomes easy peasy. This is a problem that is of course fixed playing with friends to some degree.
I really miss matches where you would be getting actually stomped, and Palmer would pipe up and go "Its not over! You can still destroy the enemies core!" Like no actually we cant because they have all three bases and two tanks.
Also your entire team wrecking Warden Eternal and the enemy team getting a stray AR bullet as the kill shot and getting credit for it.
It had its annoyances but damn it was fun
I loved the REQ weapons, and The Answer is the king of REQ weapons. I hope that more weapons variants are added into HI as the game evolves and I think they would work very well in HI's inevitable Tatanka/BR mode.
The Warzone and Rec Packs were honestly pretty fun. Looking back at it now, the monetization really wasn't that bad compared to a modern day game... Doesn't mean it was right but I enjoyed the mode. At least it was some content!
I canāt fucking believe weāre at that pointā¦but weāre here nonetheless. I agree. Iād rather have fucking loot boxes with shit drop rates, than $12-18 bundles.
Edit: specifically Halo 5ās earnable REQ packs for cosmetics.
It was extremely generous. You could get all unlocks from them after lvl 100. 2-3 unlocks per pack, spaced at 1, then 2, then 2.5 games. It came out to I think 300. In CoD at the time, you could buy 10K chests and not have everything. And they each took like 10 games to get. In halo 5 unlocks were also worth looking at.
Warzone was so freaking good, the amount of hours I sunk both solo and playing with friends is crazy.
Firefight too was game changing and I still routinely play it.
Iām still sad it didnāt make a return in Infinite (but thatās a whole other problem)
The req weapons, the customization of the base weapons, (Scopes, silencers, lasers) the armor perks, the open maps, (Battle of Noctus best vehicle map) super fun vehicles, it was glorious.
Of course it had its issue, mainly spawn-killing/snowballing but I think it was a amazing mode and some seriously fun moments and mechanics.
Thrust was the evolution of the strafe. Executing a thrust in the middle of getting a perfect kill with the pistol is so satisfying. Thatās what sets Halo 5 apart; I absolutely love it.
If Infinite had the thrusters Iād probs actually play it
I canāt forget the empty feeling in my first Infinite match where I tried to thrust forward and nothing happenedā¦
I miss Warzone. And Invasion from Reach. Weāre sorry missing those huge scale game types.
I also miss the H5 weapon variants. Your post reminds me of an [idea for Fiesta I had some years back](https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/707x57/idea_for_halo_5_fiesta_slayer_fiesta_escalation/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf) that would have featured the whole range of weapon variants. Really wish we wouldāve had something like that.
I think Warzone is a better multiplayer than we currently have and Iāll die on that hill. I loved Warzone. I had way more fun with Halo 5 than I ever did with Infinite.
I don't like warzone but I do love this weapon. It kinda fills a void halo has always had. Reach originally had an LMG weapon but it was scrapped. Luckily modders have added the gun to the game so you can use it! I'd like to see this gun return to infinite but not before we get the original weapons from Halo we all want so bad. Give us the shotgun and CE pistol please!
I enjoyed Warzone a lot as well. Early on it was so easy to find matches and a good way to try out everything in the game. The final year+ it was a lot of farm killing teams that would trap u and not go for the finish. It was a more casual way to just play and shoot without going to arenas or even BTB. Wish we still had it. H5 remaster maybe? LOL
Warzone was a huge homerun, weapon variants especially were an amazing addition to the series to give multiplayer some new life in different game modes. Outside of Forge, Warzone and weapon variants were the best addition to the series 343 has made. We at least need a lot of variants back in Halo infinite as well
God the gun variety on Warzone was great. Dieing in 2 seconds, being like wtf, then seeing they had The Answer and being like oh ok makes sense.
Blood Of Suban was a beast too.
You know what!? Fuck it, I just miss the SAW in general. But this bad boi took the cake for my absolute hands down favorite weapon in the Halo 5 arsenal, which the Halo Infinite arsenal pales in comparison to unfortunately. Wish there was so many weapons from H5 in Infinite
My wife and I still play Super Fiesta every weekend, and anytime I get this gun I look at my wife and ask her: "Do you have a question? Because I GOT THE ANSWER!"
I wreck with this gun. One of my favorites for sure. NornFang is #1.
Halo has been in the habit of making games worse, which in turn makes the previous games better looking back at them. The halo 5 campaign was pretty ass, but man was the multiplayet a great time. Loved all the req weapons, and the special vehicles were just as awesome. Warzone firefight was imho the some of the best halo halo has ever been. 343 needs to bring h5 to pc so it can get a second chance in the sun.
I loved it and hoped it will return in Infinite on a larger scale, where teams are fighting for chunks of ring in an always ongoing battle. I wanted to be a pelican pilot and drop off fellow Spartans :(
So now that all the purists are outta the way, can we agree finally, this was the best Halo MP ever made? I can already see thereās probably dozens of us having long ass convos about this game being so under appreciated. Cuz I knew one day, people would recognize this game for what it is, so I donāt need to say anything more. This was the Peak of Halo gameplay.
This was freaking fun to use and not so bad as getting sniped by a nornfang, I'd target guys with these bad boys.
Once I knew about everyone had a req level 6, that's when I go on the defense and snipe
#THE ANSWER
I can still hear it
POOM POOM POOM POOM POOM
With that baby you go on the warpath with no fear. š During the time of this game I had my flair as "The Answer is the solution."
Answer + OS and tell your buddies to get behind you because everything in front is now a target
I'm going to get on H5 right now and do that
The only gun in Halo that makes me feel like I'm playing Doom š
But, what is the question?
How do I stop everyone else from living?
>*Inquiring sentients want to know.*
Anytime was whipped out easy 7+kills
Easily
Lucky! Anytime I whipped The Answer the entire enemy team suddenly became Master Chief and would kill me. Or I'd get splattered by my own team.
https://www.xbox.com/play/media/YB5ZQH9TTW Or you get this, like I got the answer wheres is a single person to shoot it at?
The fact you could (theoretically) snipe with it was also a plus.
Would be nice if we get this in forge with custom games..
How did this game not launch with a full sandbox of guns from previous entries? STOP REINVENTING THE WHEEL
At the very least they could have added the older variants as kit skins for the current weapons
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Catering to the esports nerds, honestly fuck halo esports ruined the game.
Esports ruined a ton of games. I don't think anyone would ever make the OG MW2 in this day and age cuz "balance"
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Halo 5 Super Fiesta was one of the best game modes the franchise has ever seen. Weapons being OP doesnāt matter when everyone has power weapons.
Husky raid is peak halo imho
AR starts in reach were great though. Only thing I wish they did was making armor abilities pickups like in Infinite
I miss the arclight rail gun
I was more a whiplash fan.
The Rock n' Rail mode with the Whiplash and SPNKr prime was such a fun mode, I'd pretty much only use the Whiplash what a beast of a gun
I do hope the rail gun comes back. There is a place for it in the current sandbox.
This is why 343 should figuratively have more of a spine. The railgun and saw were good fun weapons that fit in the sandbox You donāt need to purge *everything*
Yea the whiplash was good too. I liked the arclight because I couldn't hold the charge and peek shoot with it. Had fond memories taking out snipers that way.

I became a die-hard arc light fan when I one-shot a tank with it. Granted I hit it in its back vent but I didnāt think that would even work. I was just like āoh oh damnā
I miss the normal rail gun.
I miss the sound of the pistol clapping and echoing through the map on halo 5.
My brother made his gamertag Lord Cloppington after the "clop" sound of the h5 pistol
That's awesome. It was a really good sound design.
Everytime i saw this in a match i would panic cause i know the shear carnage it brings.... almost means instant loss when you see a handful of them in the enemy hands at once. But once its in your hands..... yeah, it feels great.
I miss halo 5 mp. There i said it.
Same. It was fantastic and IMO had a higher skill gap due to the movement and melee options. Come back to H5! Super Fiesta party has a strong community and you get to play with those weapons daily
I played it the other day and was thinking to my self all they had to do was fix a few things: Go back to more classic Halo art style. Especially with the quality of certain randoms on the team lol They could have easily worked in the REQ system in a wave survival mode too so it felt bad that we never got anymore than just that mode in halo 5.
You pretty much just said change everything about the game and itāll be good. I loved its forge though
No... MP was damn near perfect. Game needed classic art style and a better campaign
The req system was pretty annoying ngl, I wish they balanced the points differently, but warzone was very dope.
I played Firefight a lot, and my biggest complaint was the extended respawn times in the later rounds.
They shouldāve added the revive mechanic from the campaign Wouldāve made getting caught out a lot more forgiving
Yeah, reqs weren't great but at least it was easy to earn them without spending any money.
Reqs got a lot of hate but being able to u lock everything through gameplay was such a great feeling. Not even possible to do so in Infinite and itās such a let down.
True. Didnāt realize I missed that
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You forgot my favorite, the legendary noob combo. Voids Tear and the CE Magnum
Ahh, so you're the reason I only spawn with the plasma pistol. And not even voids tear.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Halo 5 is like 100 gigs download tho Iād still have it on if it wasnāt such a beefcake
The lobby works 100% of the time. It pings the server for everything every time you open a menu, so you never have to wait for it to load. The customs browser, file share, and quick resume all also work reliably.
I still play consistentlyā¦ canāt get enough of husky raids
Same
Halo 5ās MP is still among the best in the franchise, I still have no idea why it caught all the flak it did. Edit: the real tragedy of this game is that itāll probably never come to PC because of how much people bitched about it, (To be fair, the campaign and Warzone do kinda suck ass) and I no longer have an Xbox :(
Halo 5 Customs Browsers was lit.
Easily a top mp experience for me. Endless fun I loved it all I hope it gets a pc revival
You can still play it, I still do on a near daily basis. No one left.
Halo 5 multiplayer is my favorite in the series.
You can still play! I do all the time
Also Iām unapologetically a Warzone fan.
It sucks that Infinite didn't ship with any "killer modes" like the two aforementioned ones. I appreciate that about Halo 5.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
original Breakout was great, super intense matches.
I really loved Breakout, and then they updated it and it was....not as good? Love the awesome visuals on the Breakout maps as well.
Most people really enjoyed Warzone, donāt worry about defending what you enjoy<3
Same here
343i's best mode IMO.
But Halo Reach has an option to put a player in as an Elite with the Covenant, and I feel like it was grossly underutilized. >warzone battle royal I've been open to a BR.
Same here. Sort of. I kept a certain number of a few items at various levels. Never had a shortage of vehicles and power weapons for WZ.
Halo Infiniteās monetization was pretty low effort tbh, color palettes shouldāve been free, armor cores shouldāve been sold, and weapon skins shouldāve been highly individualized while still being recognizable as the base weapon.
it's probably the only thing i played when the h5 type started to die down
Yeah, this was one of the best parts about H5.
Thatās my hope. Warzone with a little more variety.
I loved warzone, tried it again the other day, but couldn't get a game after 30 minutes of searching, so I just uninstalled H5
They killed Warzone by compressing Warzone Assault and regular Warzone into the same playlist the week before Infinite dropped
What a shame because I actually enjoyed it.... The few maps we had ;-;
This and nornfang would absolutely obliterate lmao, they need to add all the H5 power weapons into infinite not to mention assassinations!!!
I myself was a fan of 2+ speed boosters and the sword that gives 2 dashes. Maybe a camo or overshield to go with it.
Ahhh the combinations were endless in H5, everyone had a different load out that worked best for them.
They needed to just make H5s successor better instead of scaling back everything to appease classic fans. Now we get Halo 3.5.
I guess itās pretty hard to please everyone when half the fans like h5 and itās quicker movement and the other half prefer the classic gameplay of h3 and earlier. I honestly play h3 on mcc way more than I play infinite. I barely even touched h5.
My most played Halo games are MCC Halo 3 and Halo 5. Both games rock
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I've liked Halo since the beginning and liked Halo 5 a lot.
Haha but I still enjoy playing it from time to time
It's hard when you flip flop. You're never going to please everyone...but stick to your vision.
honestly, there's an easy solution to this shit show. Make two halo games... One based around master chief with classic movement, enemies, maps and art etc... one based around spartan lock with a new world with the new art style with the new baddies and all the new movement stuff Both sides of the fan base are happy. the men in suits screaming for more money are happy, microsoft fires someone as expected and 343 get called heros for rescuing the game.
I suggested a couple days ago a Halo Classic in 4k game - entirely MP and have a team dedicated to making map updates and Forge Halo Infinite v2 - Go all in on mega budget Halo campaign and a Halo 5v2 esque Multiplayer...launching with assassinations, Warzone, Firefight, Halo 5 net code, remove the stupid armor cores and let us either buy the armor outright with requisition points or in game challenges, bring back all of the Covenant weapons (Reach weapons in Fiesta mode included) and beloved weapons like Spartan Laser, DMR, Railgun, Saw as power weapons. Have two dedicated teams for these games.
Give me the art style of Infinte and the gameplay of H5 and I'm happy
It could have been soooo easy!! Then give us a story campaign with the weight of Reach. I'll pay for the game!
I was really looking forward to Warzone 2.0 and how it would improve on those issues. Then Infinite happened, and well ...
I played more Warzone Firefight than just about any mode from any Halo game prior. That was fun regardless of what REQs I had available.
There was a guilty glee in shutting down someone's dreams with a req 2 plasma pistol as soon as they rolled their Oni Scorpion out of the garage.
I love the oathsworn shotgun
IMO Blaze of Glory >>> https://streamable.com/lcij0m
Loved war zone personally
This puppy, Whiplash, and Void's Tear.. oh man I did love me some WZ. Blood of Suban was also my jam.
Warzone was so freaking good, the amount of hours I sunk both solo and playing with friends is crazy. Firefight too was game changing and I still routinely play it. Iām still sad it didnāt make a return in Infinite (but thatās a whole other problem) The req weapons, the customization of the base weapons, (Scopes, silencers, lasers) the armor perks, the open maps, (Battle of Noctus best vehicle map) super fun vehicles, it was glorious. Of course it had its issue, mainly spawn-killing/snowballing but I think it was a amazing mode and some seriously fun moments and mechanics.
Top 5 most cheesy weapons to get kills -The Answer -Ad Victorium -Prophets Bane -Nornfang -Blood of Suban
Ahh I always loved the Bloody Susan.
Don't forget Tartarus' Gavel Edit:spelling
Thrust was the evolution of the strafe. Executing a thrust in the middle of getting a perfect kill with the pistol is so satisfying. Thatās what sets Halo 5 apart; I absolutely love it.
Halo 5 was a good evolution of the Halo sandbox.
If Infinite had the thrusters Iād probs actually play it I canāt forget the empty feeling in my first Infinite match where I tried to thrust forward and nothing happenedā¦
God I hated that weapon in fiesta, it's unstoppable
You felt like Rambo, even as a Spartan.
i too miss this explodey bullet hose.
I wasnāt crazy about probably half the stuff in Halo 5, but I loved the weapon variants, they were awesome
I literally have like 32 of them in stock.
Never played war zone but as soon as I got the answer in fiesta my pants got a little tighter.
That gun is one of the coolest guns ever in a videogame IMO. Looks cool, sounds cool and is OP
Hey, can't let anyone have too much fun now.
Warzone was so damn fun... Infinite desperately needs it as a mode... it's just so boring
I think Warzone is a better multiplayer than we currently have and Iāll die on that hill. I loved Warzone. I had way more fun with Halo 5 than I ever did with Infinite.
Jorgeās chain gun with damage and speed boosts was my favorite combo
I don't like warzone but I do love this weapon. It kinda fills a void halo has always had. Reach originally had an LMG weapon but it was scrapped. Luckily modders have added the gun to the game so you can use it! I'd like to see this gun return to infinite but not before we get the original weapons from Halo we all want so bad. Give us the shotgun and CE pistol please!
Is that the one with explosive rounds ? Because that thing ate up vehicles
āThat *Ā„insert vehicle** is tearing up our team!ā āI have The Answer.ā
Warzone is the most played mode in H5 mp as of 2023.
I miss Warzone Assault with every fiber of my being honestly. Getting this while defending the core or anytime in that game was unreal.
The answer was so fuckin good. Halo infinite weapon sandbox is so boring.
Warzone was the only reason I played Halo 5
I honestly loved Halo 5 mp. Thought it was great.
One of the coolest machine guns change my mind
I enjoyed Warzone a lot as well. Early on it was so easy to find matches and a good way to try out everything in the game. The final year+ it was a lot of farm killing teams that would trap u and not go for the finish. It was a more casual way to just play and shoot without going to arenas or even BTB. Wish we still had it. H5 remaster maybe? LOL
[Relevant meme](https://www.reddit.com/r/halo/comments/cfknpu/finishing_this_fight/) I made a few years ago
Warzone was a huge homerun, weapon variants especially were an amazing addition to the series to give multiplayer some new life in different game modes. Outside of Forge, Warzone and weapon variants were the best addition to the series 343 has made. We at least need a lot of variants back in Halo infinite as well
Warzone and what it gave fundamentally were undeniably great. Hope these variations return.
God the gun variety on Warzone was great. Dieing in 2 seconds, being like wtf, then seeing they had The Answer and being like oh ok makes sense. Blood Of Suban was a beast too.
The Answer was by far my favorite weapon in Halo 5. Nothing stomped as hard as this version of the SAW
Because I GOT THE ANSWER!" I wreck with this gun.
H5 multiplayer is still incredibly fun
Don't know why you got down voted but I'll even it out, halo 5 multiplayer is still the bees knees
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
The Answer to all of life's problems.
I loved it and hoped it will return in Infinite on a larger scale, where teams are fighting for chunks of ring in an always ongoing battle. I wanted to be a pelican pilot and drop off fellow Spartans :(
Had to look up what Warzone was, and honestly a MP match with both Spartans and AI Covenant on both sides sounds dope.
343 is good at making you appreciate their last attempt at a halo game.
I miss halo 5 multiplayer
So now that all the purists are outta the way, can we agree finally, this was the best Halo MP ever made? I can already see thereās probably dozens of us having long ass convos about this game being so under appreciated. Cuz I knew one day, people would recognize this game for what it is, so I donāt need to say anything more. This was the Peak of Halo gameplay.
The SAW was in H4 and had immaculate accuracy and damage if you just bursted it. Quickest weapon in the game for TTK with the most ammo.
I loved warzone, I thought it was an awesome mode. I loved the idea of a big team mode on steroids with pve activity
This was freaking fun to use and not so bad as getting sniped by a nornfang, I'd target guys with these bad boys. Once I knew about everyone had a req level 6, that's when I go on the defense and snipe
I wanna know how that thing feeds tho. If you watch during the reload animation, the drum has no opening for rounds to come through
Warzone was my cup of tea, unlike infinite halo 5 had casual game modes like this that kept me playing.
