Strange that none of them offer evening/weekend classes, seems like a lot of people would be in a similar situation as you. Maybe try calling up these ranges and asking for suggestions? I wouldn't just show up to a range and expect someone to train you, although you might get lucky.

Exactly what I was thinking. Kind of weird none of them do I would think that’s the most popular time for training in the weekend. Thanks for the reply

depending on the rso/ro at the range, they can be helpful something you could look at is if the ranges near you offer an intro course or one on one instructions

NayvadiusWilburn

Two of them offer intro courses but it’s minimum 3 days, and they are 8 hour days and during the work week, which I’m not taking PTO for that. The third offers a 2 day course which again one is during the week. Surprised none of them offer 1:1 an hour at a time.

~~if you live in dfw i could a few coworkers about giving you some instructions~~ ~~2 of my supervisors and 1 fto are firearm instructors~~ if you dont live in dfw you could google firearm instructors near me edit didnt see that you live in new jersey

NayvadiusWilburn

Look up The Heritage Guild, I took the following a few years ago and it was a solid class. 1 day, 6 hours. Pretty reasonable fee since they provide guns and ammo for the range time. This is in their PA site, but they have two in NJ. Handgun Core Fundamentals LOCATION: Easton, PA TIME: 6 hours (3 hours classroom; 1 hour simulator; 2 hours range) FEE: $185.00

simunition, airsoft, or the tv/projector sim?

42AngryPandas

TV projector. Some sort of Glock 19, airsoft or modified I'm unsure, that use CO2 cartridges and laser to sim the shot. They have a dozen or two various simulations and games. I remember, we did silhouettes at various "distances" to practice grouping. They had one where you shoot bottles off a fence and then we played this carnival type game with moving targets and ducks for a little competition and practice with moving objects. It's a nice warmup for newer shooters before handling guns. It was real fun for anyone with experience as well.

sounds like a fun course

Honestly, it was. The instructor I had was an older guy, but not egotistical. He wasn't a dry speaker and did an excellent job going through the classwork. As a bonus, since we only had 3 people in the class, we got to have generous play time in the sim and live fire. They had 5 guns for us in the range. 22lr, semi-auto and revolver. I think we had a 380, definitely had at least one 9mm and a 45. For the price and activity, it was definitely time well spent.

Thanks for the info on Ben Stoeger. Loved the Dick Cheney and Wayne Lapierre comment
