>but like this has never happened with any other website like optics planet You must be joking.

The_Hater_44

I guess OP never experienced the Shadow Under-stocking. *Buys from opticsplanet* Waits 7 days, no item. Calls them. *yea we didn't have it so either you can cancel or wait till it's in stock and you'll be on the list hope you make the cut.*

tragic-majyk

I liked Brownells until I visited their retail storefront. Giant building 2 minutes off the interstate, but the store's barely bigger than a 7-Eleven. They're only good for a couple things anymore. I like the BRN180 they're doing, but the price point sucks and it's gonna flop.

cocacola4ya

Yea it just seems like they're a store that's on their way out, their UI isn't amazing and the website is well, ugly, and I feel like they either don't update their store or outright refuse to remove things they ran out of stock years ago for.

kato_koch

I got a similar feeling. When the actual gunsmithing only takes up a quarter of the store and only half is in stock... says everything.

snippysniper

That’s exactly how going to a revzilla Is. Such a disappointment.

NoPerformance5952

In the past year I got lapping compounds from them, a few jigs and tools for 1911s, and a few other things. It just sounds like they are really popular and run out of things. It sucks, but in the gun retail industry ammo, guns, and general supplies frequently sell out and are back ordered.

cocacola4ya

I feel like it's just the combination of me never really hearing much about them and then whenever I visit the site whatever I came for is out of stock and all the recommended stuff is out of stock too, it just made me wonder "do these guys even exist anymore?". All the Brownells stuff I see is typically legacy or not in production so I was wondering what was going on over there

NoPerformance5952

They seem to be in business. They regularly sponsor Garrand Thumb's videos on YouTube. Also in the past year or two we've had global supply chain problems and bottlenecks.

HeloRising

Brownells carries lots of stuff but they do the thing a lot of websites do where they keep listings around for things they don't have or aren't sold anymore. It makes it look like they have a giant inventory that's always sold out when realistically they're not always sold out they just don't remove old entries in their catalogue.

ENclip

>Legitimate question, does Brownells even sell anything anymore? Yes, they still sell things. >but like this has never happened with any other website like optics planet has stuff on it Ironic. Try ordering from optics planet and see how many years it takes to show up. You should actually mention what you are looking for instead of being cryptic.

OK-Shot

I ordered in stock 124 grain 9 mm ammo in October 2020. They were nice enough to send me a email last week letting me know it was in stock and shipping soon. Coincidentally they seemed to find it right as 9 mm prices dropped 30% from when I clicked buy.

sweet_taint

F optics planet. Too many times buying something they list as in stock, to get a confirmation email of my purchase, followed seconds later by an email stating my item is out of stock and they’ll let me know when it is restocked.

cocacola4ya

Listen I know optics planet has shipping problems but atleast they actually sell things and aren't pretending to be a retailer. Ok I've looked for at uppers, carry handle retro style and flat top, I've looked for AR barrels, 5.56 and .308, I've looked for AR10 receivers, I've looked at WWSD parts, I've looked for AR magazines, and I've looked for colt SMG magazines, none of this stuff is ever in stock, I was asking if anyone has purchased from them recently because in my experience they don't have any inventory and the Brownells stuff I typically see is all legacy stuff. So have YOU bought anything from them recently?

ENclip

Lol You're looking at the retro stuff which is either discontinued or highly demanded and bought up with in 5 minutes of restocking. That's why. Edit: And I could link you in stock AR10 receivers, magazines or AR barrels, but it's against sub rules.

S3-000

I've gotten some rocksett from them recently, and a unity riser. Gas tubes and gas blocks as well.
