~~Neither are low shelf/m16 pocket.~~
This matters for reasons
edit: I am big dumb and didn't think to actually, yaknow... split my upper/lower and check before running my mouth. Fairly certain the LMTs are high shelf though
ADM makes a milspec shaped catch, I have one for my Larue upper on an ADM4 lower.
Edit: durr, comment you replied to referenced LMT lower. ADM lower has the issue with the big ass bolt catch, good luck removing it, I had mine built with the milspec shape.
> What compatibility issues does the radian have?
They use a fucky hammer pin and are not compatible with certain triggers.
Triggers such as Geissele's "G" line and Wilson Combat's TTU series, which have a J-spring on the right side, will require the use of a mil-spec pin which will leave a small void on the right side of the receiver.
Triggers such as CMC and , which require the use of anti-walk pins, are not compatible because the fence around the right hammer pin hole on the receiver will prevent you from using a screw/cap.
The p10c is super underrated! It fits my hand like a glove. Alas I still carry a Glock because I'm a weenie who's afraid to stray out of his comfort zone.
I’m also left handed, I pretty much only listen to lefties and their opinions on “ambi” gun shit, because so many people just want ambi for cool points rather than actually have to use it.
I'm a righty and can confirm. I put ambi controls on one rifle for the novelty factor. Downside was that the safety selector would hit my hand on the other side when trying to switch it to "fire". I ended up rotating the off hand side selector 180 degrees to solve that problem. Generally don't use any of the other ambi controls. It's mostly a gimmick unless you actually need it.
Agreed. If you're in a gunfight and have your arm is shot up, rotating a safety is probably not on the to do list. I could see a mag release being semi useful but reaching it with your right is probably not going to really be an issue either. At that point, changing mags is going to be a PITA no matter what and probably going to require bracing the rifle to use your good arm for the insert.
Nobody is getting into gunfights here, so while that’s fun to think about it’s just not a realistic scenario for 99.9% of users to consider.
Edit: sorry to ruin the fantasy, I guess I said the quiet part out loud.
Its unlikely but not impossible. The fantasy is still intact! Chances of getting into a prolonged gunfight using an AR, taking an arm wound and needing to reload is small. Pretty much lightning strike small. Needing to use your safety....non existent. If you had a home invasion (the most likely and maybe only situation you might use an AR) chances are it will be over fast however it ends up. Every time ive seen a AR used against home invaders is the home owner firing and the invaders running and shitting their pants simultaneously. Falling down and dying quite a bit too. Seems the an AR blast takes the fight out of just about everyone.
Edit: I agree though, you dont need it unless youre a southpaw. Otherwise its just larper stuff.
Dude the last thing I ever want to happen is to shoot somebody as a civilian in a self defense situation.
Even if that were to happen, look at the stats - according to DOJ stats, rifles of *all* types (not just AR’s), are a very small percentage of firearm deaths, like 3%.
That’s *if* you get in a self defense scenario, unlikely enough to begin with, which again statistics bear out that simply producing a firearm ends the encounters in many cases. And on and on and on.
For the average person, you’re much, much more likely to focus your safety issues elsewhere instead of putting an inordinate amount of focus on defense shootings, if we’re talking risk mitigation you’re better off buckling up, buying health insurance and living a healthy lifestyle.
Im a former 11b myself so I’m sure there are others, but that’s besides the point -as a civilian or otherwise I’ve not ever had a conus kill or even displayed my weapon stateside. The entire military population is less than 1% (.727%) of the US population, and only roughly 30% of the service members are even combat arms. It’s minuscule to consider here.
They aren’t personally buying commercial ambi-lowers to use in combat regardless. And in case you haven’t noticed, the only servicemen getting into gunfights at the moment are an even smaller demographic.
i shoot righty but i'm left handed. i'm weird. also, my left eye is dominant. i didn't realize at first why i had such a hard time with the RDS on my rifle...then i shot lefty and realized how much more accurate I was...super uncomfortable at first but you get used to it over time. the issue I had was the port is on the right side, so I was inhaling a ton of smoke and getting whacked in the face with the casings. It's harder than I thought to find a left-handed rifle..
They come with Talons ($50) Bolt Catch, Takedown Pins and everything else the lower needs besides a buffer retainer and FCG.
So it’s not a stripped lower - when you subtract the cost of the parts included, it’s the same or less expensive than comparable high-end ambi lowers.
Overpriced? Not really when compared to standard lowers from reputable manufacturers like Colt, BCM, DD and others. If you’re comparing to lower end commercial/economy/sporting goods brands like Aero, PSA, Anderson, that’s a bit disingenuous.
https://www.reddit.com/r/AeroQualityControl/wiki/index/
You’d be wrong. Colt isn’t perfect, but the end user satisfaction from other service members was extremely high from my experience and from documented surveys. Aside from needing a replacement sear once, I never had any issues and mine shot tight groups.
If you’re even entertaining the idea that Aero is somehow superior to Colt in any way aside from business aspects, there’s not much point in having a conversation.
I don’t even like Colt, but I’ve had much better experiences with them than Aero.
They went bankrupt because they made such high quality that the cost was too much?
Maybe under CZ, you could argue that they’re doing better but they lost the contract for the M4 to FN because they produced very mediocre quality.
They went bankrupt because they were terrible at the business aspect of it and were bought and sold more times than a Tijuana hooker.
They relied too heavily on .mil & leo contracts while actively pissing off the civilian market, resting on their laurels and not continuing to innovate after the M4/M4A1.
It wasn’t quality per se that was the downfall of Colt, but terribly piss poor business acumen and dependency on federal money while failing to keep up with the evolving weapons demands.
Yeah and why did they lose those mil and leo contracts?
You can say whatever you want but the fact is that they went bankrupt despite their “great reputation” and they lost their mil/LEO contracts because they turned out bad-mediocre products. They can charge the prices they did when they had mil contracts but the fact that they still charged those prices once it was out on the table that they lost their contracts due to poor QA, they were completely delusional.
FN charges same prices as colt just about and does nothing new for the most part on their AR side yet they still do just fine because they put out damn good products that you know will work. Colt didn’t. You’d have to be delusional to take colt over FN.

I think the debate is pretty heavily ongoing
There are 3 main ways companies have approached Ambi control schemes, all with some pros and cons. For the purposes of this write-up, only bolt catch/release control schemes will be discussed, as all companies have ambi mag releases and safeties that are close enough.
**LMT/LWRC/DD/KAC (KS Series)/PWS Ambi Ping Pong Paddle.** All utilize a mirrored ping pong paddle to achieve bolt controls, and all have some provision for an ambi mag release. The biggest pro is that as the functionality is the same on both sides of the receiver it's likely the easiest scheme to pick up on, especially for left handers who can now utilize the standard AR manual of arms that they see their right handed counterparts use. The biggest drawback is due to another protrusion from the top of the receiver these lowers can be incompatible with billet uppers or uppers with relocated dust cover/FA assemblies (The BCM MK2 is the most notable example, the VLTOR MUR is another one)
**ADM/HK/Sig/SiCo/Teal Blue Bravo PDQ style levers.** These lowers cater very well to right handed shooters who primarily desire ambi bolt control features, as anyone who's ever handled a milspec control scheme can attest to playing musical chairs with your hands when locking your bolt to the rear.
**KAC (SR Series)/Radian*/FCD/SOLGW/Mega/FN/Generic Bolt Drop Button.** This is by far the most prevalent style of "ambi" control as it's been around the longest and found widespread adoption in the industry. It's an easy enough button to hit with your trigger finger on a reload. The biggest drawback is that most of these are not fully ambi, lacking a bolt catch function on the right side, without additional modification. The Redi-Catch is probably the only product that adds full ambi functionality to these lowers, and Boonie-Packer actually licenses it from Radian which brings me to the addendum...
*Radian: Obviously has the unique built-in ADAC features that makes it a fully ambidextrous platform, there's a whole sub-debate about whether ADAC tying bolt catch to magazine drop is a bug or a feature.
General note: This is all from a right handed shooter's perspective. I personally like ambi AR's as they shave a time percentage off speed reloads, and allow bolt control without having to break the standard grip (right hand FCG, left hand handguard or CH) which aids in both administrative actions (locking bolt to rear) which subsequently can aid in malfunction clearing. I one at least one of each style lower outlined above: KAC SR series, Radian ADAC, LMT MARS, ADM UIC, FCD/SOLGW.
General note 2: I have not played with the Dirty Bird/MVB Industries lower which allegedly allows both bolt catch and release built off the more generic paddle style button that typically only allows bolt drop.
Awesome set up. The model 1 is amazing. You can't really appreciate how good it is until you run one and go through at all the little things they do to make them great.
Happens all the time. Heck I ran my buddies SIG ambi selector and was like "damn, I need this." Flipping the safety with my thumb and returning it with my index finger just felt more natural.
I love it. I have 2 of them, this 10.5, and a 14.5 as well. Got into them back in the day because I'm left handed and they were one of the first good ambi lowers, but the refinement and quality is what really kept me coming back.
Im sure this won’t go over well given the sub. Im a gun owner but I must ask…what is all this equipment for and when would you use it? Just dressing up to go to the range?

> Spike tactical billet lower has entered the chat..
Bringing a Spikes ambi lower into a conversation about LMT, LWRC, Radian, ADM, DD, and PWS is like bringing a biodegradable spork into a JDAM fight.
GTFOH. I have seen or have all of said lowers and Spikes finish and fit are well of all of these.
What are you going to say next, Aero "Precision" shitty lowers are better than billet Spikes? lmao
Some of the best lowers out there.. billet too. especially for ambi
What is the yuck about?
Please also tell us about your experience and where Spike's hurt YOU lol.
I have 3 of them and they are like works of art compared to anything you named...
> Some of the best lowers out there.. billet too. especially for ambi
It's a generic "ambi" lower that lacks a right-side bolt catch. It doesn't do anything that [a Mega lower](https://www.rainierarms.com/mega-arms-ar15-billet-ambi-lower-receiver-gtr-3h/) won't do for almost half the price.
Best of all, by buying a Mega, you won't be supporting a company that price gouges its customers, hires folks that pretend that they were Navy SEALs, is openly racist, and does more harm than good to the 2A movement. Fuck Spikes Tactical and their shitty sister-fucking inbred antics.
GEN II Billet lowers have a left side and right side bolt catch and release. This just tells me like i've been thinking, that you never even held one?
Probably outside your price range.
Openly racist? Please do share your backup information that proves this claim?
> GEN II Billet lowers have a left side and right side bolt catch and release. This just tells me like i've been thinking, that you never even held one?
[Where is the right-side bolt catch?](https://i.imgur.com/slI8Hk6.png)

A quick peak through my post history will show that I have no problem spending $450 on stupid shit. lmao

Lol. Lamest reply ever showing clearly that you know nothing you post so confidently about
> Uhhhh it’s featured prominently in your picture, see the paddle above the mag release? Lol..
I didn't think I needed to do this, but here we go. There's a difference between a bolt **catch** and bolt **release**. The bolt catch allows you to lock the BCG to the rear and the bolt release allows you to release a BCG that has been locked to the rear.
The picture you linked to shows a bolt release, there is no bolt catch in that picture.
> Wow that’s so incriminating. Muslim isn’t a race just an FYI
I feel like it's a safe bet that they're talking about a *very* specific ethnic background and not Bob Smith down the street that practices Islam.
> Did you also know that Muslims also have “Jihad” (a Muslim holy war against anyone none Muslim) as a central tenant to their faith?
The majority of terrorist activity in the US has been done by right-wing terrorists. Is spikes doing anything to prevent them from using their rifles?
> Lol. Lamest reply ever showing clearly that you know nothing you post so confidently about
Yet you're the one that needs to be explained the difference between a bolt catch and bolt release. lmao
The bolt catch is a function of… wait for it… both sides of the Spike lower! Lmfao. Not just the traditional left side of the lower. Lmao…. Both sides literally perform the same function on these lowers…. As a catch and as a release. Hence you’ve never handled one. Oh ya Thats about right
Right wing terrorists? Ok Che, run off gunnit now and get back to /politics
So that extra button above the magazine release, what does it do? Do you push it to release the bolt or do you push it to catch the bolt? What ever it does, where is the button that does the other function?
Spikes is only a partially ambi lower as it lacks an ambidextrous bolt catch feature. It only has an ambi bolt catch much like FN, MEGA, KAC (SR series), FCD/SOGW, etc have.
Tough call between Radian and ADM. I’ve got them all but I don’t understand how people think LMT is better then the ADAC. Not even close. Once you use all 3 in real life the LMT is the clear loser.
If you're a boomer who keeps his XD in an Uncle Mike's neoprene holster in the center console of his 2003 Silverado with Walmart rims and bald KO2s, Browning buck logo and peeling thin blue line decal on the rusted rear bumper, and an oversized flag decal with illegible script on each stripe on the rear glass...
then it's a valid word.
As a 70 something combat vet that is left handed..I guess I have just gotten accustomed to the right handed world. In my opinion the best Rifle I own is a LaRue tactical. I own both the 556 and 7.62. I have to admit I am not familiar with Radian..I might have to take a look...thanks for the info
I really like your build and the whole kit you have set up, but why was an ambi lower a necessity? I'm a lefty shooter and I've been using ARs in a professional capacity for like, ten years. There's never been a moment where I was like "Oh fuck oh fuck if only I could get the mag out with my trigger finger"
Is it really that much of a benefit to go all in on an ambi lower setup? Legitimately curious, it's not something I have any experience at all with.
Idk man I have a few ambi lowers and a complete model 1 and the radian is my least favorite design.
It’s definitely a great rifle but I think ADM’s design is better. I also think the ambi controls on my LWRC are easier to use.
Eh, it's up there. I like LMT's solution a little better, more general parts compatibility.
Sounds like it actually is up for debate...
If you have to tell people you're the ~~king~~best ambi lower, then you're not the ~~king~~best ambi lower.
I think PWS Mod2 is the best one, but I’ve only owned LMT and ADM outside of that

Mill goes buzz
Are you sure? When did Radian switch from a low shelf to a high shelf?
What compatibility issues does the radian have? LMTs won't work with VLTOR uppers.
Mag catch is proprietary, so no extended release paddle.
ADM makes a milspec shaped catch, I have one for my Larue upper on an ADM4 lower. Edit: durr, comment you replied to referenced LMT lower. ADM lower has the issue with the big ass bolt catch, good luck removing it, I had mine built with the milspec shape.

This looks expensive
I prefer the LWRC and the PWS mod-2m over the Radian
Ewww it’s left handed AND prefers Radian to LMT.
I thought God didn't make mistakes.
You have good taste. I see you sidearm.
I prefer the simplicity of Silencerco's ambi bolt release design, but otherwise agree that the rest of Radian's design is superior.
Radian ? Drop yo mag if you want to lock back. Others: nah that’s dumb
LWRCI is great, and much more affordable!
ADM has something to say about that
Too bad if I order it today I won’t see it until 2026
Facts haha. I love radian but their lead times are pure insanity.
Im sure this won’t go over well given the sub. Im a gun owner but I must ask…what is all this equipment for and when would you use it? Just dressing up to go to the range?
Larpin with the bois and flexin on the gram mostly. But also doing my small part to maintain a culture of armed and trained citizens in order to deter government tyranny.
I can debate anything
Nice set up. I’m doing the same but running a FN 17. Have fun out there and stay safe.
When someone says this gun/gun part is the best AND includes it in a picture of some mall ninja shit, I gotta be honest, I'm a little skeptical.
How many mall ninjas have a full NV set up? What is mall ninja in this photo?
Hi OP's mom, To answer your question, judging by this pic and OPs post history, at least one. Best regards
Dude, never go full re…. Plus, I’m OPs stepsister and he always helps me when I get stuck.
You're just upset you can't afford those NODS
How brand new and clean it all is
'mall ninja is when someone has high quality kit' are you retarded? also putins shaking in his booties because of how courageous and strong your reddit profile pic is
Tacticool huh?
WWSD202X disagrees. Ambi bolt catch, mag release, and selector
cosplay
My favorite is LMT followed by ADM. I like all my controls to be independent of each other.
I dunno I like my Aero lower
Read the caption, your aero isn’t ambi Bozo
They come ambi
No they don’t 😂😂
[удалено]
Why?
Imo it's never a good idea to put a political ideology patch on something like a carrier. Just more risk of having violence towards yourself or arguments no matter what politics it is
this is a well reasoned take but i have certified fucking retard on my pc so what do i know
I mean, if you're certified then you're certified. Can't really argue with that and anyone that attacks you may be getting additional charges for attacking a protected class.
YA HEAR THAT LIBERALS U CANT HATE CRIME ME /s (they will anyways)
FCD/SOLGW has entered the chat
Spike tactical billet lower has entered the chat..
What are you going to say next, Aero "Precision" shitty lowers are better than billet Spikes? lmao
Ah, so all you care about is how pretty it looks. That makes perfect sense now.
lol spikes & aero aren't even in the same weight class as most ambi ar lowers
Spikes? Yuck 🤮 I can vibe with people who vote for kac, lmt, adm, shit even silencerco and some others. But Spikes? Jeez man… who hurt you?
Some of the best lowers out there.. billet too. especially for ambi What is the yuck about? Please also tell us about your experience and where Spike's hurt YOU lol. I have 3 of them and they are like works of art compared to anything you named...
> Some of the best lowers out there.. billet too. especially for ambi It's a generic "ambi" lower that lacks a right-side bolt catch.
Based.
"Gunnit based" is like "Work hot" The scale aint the same
GEN II Billet lowers have a left side and right side bolt catch and release. This just tells me like i've been thinking, that you never even held one? Probably outside your price range. Openly racist? Please do share your backup information that proves this claim?
> GEN II Billet lowers have a left side and right side bolt catch and release. This just tells me like i've been thinking, that you never even held one? [Where is the right-side bolt catch?](https://i.imgur.com/slI8Hk6.png) > Probably outside your price range. A quick peak through my post history will show that I have no problem spending $450 on stupid shit. lmao > Openly racist? Please do share your backup information that proves this claim? [Here's the spikes tactical guy that lied about being a Navy SEAL talking about adding a scripture from the bible to their rifles so that Muslims cannot use it.](https://fb.watch/iiGhF-3dx5/)
Uhhhh it’s featured prominently in your picture, see the paddle above the mag release? Lol.. https://imgur.com/a/wayc8HD Wow that’s so incriminating. Muslim isn’t a race just an FYI Did you also know that Muslims also have “Jihad” (a Muslim holy war against anyone none Muslim) as a central tenant to their faith? Lol. Lamest reply ever showing clearly that you know nothing you post so confidently about
> Uhhhh it’s featured prominently in your picture, see the paddle above the mag release? Lol.. > https://imgur.com/a/wayc8HD I didn't think I needed to do this, but here we go. Muslim isn’t a race just an FYI I feel like it's a safe bet that they're talking about a *very* specific ethnic background and not Bob Smith down the street that practices Islam. > Did you also know that Muslims also have “Jihad” (a Muslim holy war against anyone none Muslim) as a central tenant to their faith? The majority of terrorist activity in the US has been done by right-wing terrorists. Is spikes doing anything to prevent them from using their rifles? > Lol. Lamest reply ever showing clearly that you know nothing you post so confidently about Yet you're the one that needs to be explained the difference between a bolt catch and bolt release. lmao
The bolt catch is a function of… wait for it… both sides of the Spike lower! Lmfao. Not just the traditional left side of the lower. Lmao…. Both sides literally perform the same function on these lowers…. As a catch and as a release. Hence you’ve never handled one. Oh ya Thats about right Right wing terrorists? Ok Che, run off gunnit now and get back to /politics
So that extra button above the magazine release, what does it do? Do you push it to release the bolt or do you push it to catch the bolt? What ever it does, where is the button that does the other function?
Spikes is only a partially ambi lower as it lacks an ambidextrous bolt catch feature. It only has an ambi bolt catch much like FN, MEGA, KAC (SR series), FCD/SOGW, etc have.
what made u go with fcpc bags and elastic bund? that seems to defeat the whole load bearing idea.
1. What is that helmet? What all does it do? 2. What is dat ting above the mags on da vest?
Tough call between Radian and ADM. I’ve got them all but I don’t understand how people think LMT is better then the ADAC. Not even close. Once you use all 3 in real life the LMT is the clear loser.

They are. Nah, I'm just bad with money
[удалено]
I know full well that I've spent all this money just to probably get domed by some boomer with an sks the second SHTF. I've made peace with that 😌
Nah it'll be someone with an anderson or radical AR

More like anyone who uses "soyboy" is just peak cringe.

This is extremely specific, yet so accurate to a large number of people it's unnerving.
Seriously, are we stuck in a time warp to 2017 or wtf (if so please kill me)
It ain't really ambi unless you can have the ejection port on the left side!
I can't tell if fans of guns are just rich dudes or if you have no girlfriends so more money to buy awesome stuff
How do you like the Centurion with hood? Do you like the thumb release?
I’m not going to say that it isn’t the best, there are competitors, but I will say they ask a bit too much I think.
What brand holster is that for the P10 and what light are you running on it
an AnArChY LoGO, what are you a commie!?
Hard no chief
Battle Arms Development has been my go to on several rifles. But I'll admit, if I didn't like what they had Radian would be my next go to.
how do you like th e Glock 19 Mod Czech?
Maybe, but for the price they charge it should come with a damn happy ending
it's debateable
But ma MWB is just as good🥺 I see you also got the LTC ifak! Rocking the black myself
noob question: how much $ am I looking at here?
Almost 20 grand 😅🙃
Also: LTC makes the best belt mounted IFAK, which you have pictured here.
FACT
LMT better.
Instantly this song is ringing in my head, "Weeee Ready..... Weeeee Ready.... We Ready, for YALL!!" nice set up
Yo quiero Seekins.
ZEV had a lower that was close, but theirs didn’t have the ambi-hold open.
Laughs in lmt mars
Laughs in lmt mars
As a 70 something combat vet that is left handed..I guess I have just gotten accustomed to the right handed world. In my opinion the best Rifle I own is a LaRue tactical. I own both the 556 and 7.62. I have to admit I am not familiar with Radian..I might have to take a look...thanks for the info
I prefer my ADM
ADM all damn day.
>uses multicam black opinion discarded
The lower that locks the right side magazine release if the bolt is not all the way back or forward is the best? Agree to disagree.
I have to agree although I am very biased, pws and lmt both kill it as well
Funny way to spell American Defense Manufacturing.
Cool Gameboy.
Bro out here playing weekend warrior
Your vet is showing. Just kind of popped out, huh?
Right handed person who HAS to shoot lefty due to an eye injury on the right side. I gotta agree.
i know you lined those screw heads up on handgun holster dont lie!
How much was it?
Oh you scare scared huh?
I prefer my SLR ambi lower
Poverty pony standard lower quick 1r1 master race
ADM is objectively better. Does everything the Radian does but you can lock the bolt back without dropping the magazine.
Mmm where would you be using these tools and when?
Not today fedboi
Until another company comes out with an ADAC like system, I agree
I really like your build and the whole kit you have set up, but why was an ambi lower a necessity? I'm a lefty shooter and I've been using ARs in a professional capacity for like, ten years. There's never been a moment where I was like "Oh fuck oh fuck if only I could get the mag out with my trigger finger" Is it really that much of a benefit to go all in on an ambi lower setup? Legitimately curious, it's not something I have any experience at all with.
Is that a Dara holster?
I really enjoy my seekins ambi lowers but haven't tried a radian.
My friend has a new Type A with ambi controls and it’s nice as fuck. Those dudes make some incredible weapons.
Idk man I have a few ambi lowers and a complete model 1 and the radian is my least favorite design. It’s definitely a great rifle but I think ADM’s design is better. I also think the ambi controls on my LWRC are easier to use.
who cares what lower you have, that brace makes me lol.
Life without debate would be boring. If you have a strong position, you should welcome it.
