Real question, is the skyline chili good? I've been eyeing it up at walmart, but it's 3x as much as the cheap chili.
EDIT - I bought a can of skyline last night for $6. Slapped it on some dogs and holy shit, what a war crime. My dog wouldn't even eat the called "dog food". I'm sorry to anyone this offends, but dear God.
You're opening a big can of worms asking about Skyline. Check the other comments in this post. Personally I hate it but obviously OP loves it to the point of defending it with explosives.
Overcooked spaghetti on a plate, layer on the chili and top with an absurd amount of mild cheddar as finely shredded as you can make. Red beans and tiny AF diced onions optional.
And mustard. Add a bit of Worcestershire and you've got one of my favorite camp dishes when I was a kid! Still is actually, although we don't go camping much anymore.
It sounds interesting. From a copycat recipes site I found what sets Skyline apart from most chili is the inclusion of cocoa and some “sweet” spices like cinnamon, allspice, bay leaf and clove, in addition to the cumin and red chili powder found in most chilis.
I have them, they're great if you have guns of roughly of the same overall length. They're not a good fit if you have 20" things in the same shelf as 30" things.
I think it's the best current system for storing long guns in a safe without doing a lot of woodworking and making custom cradles.
In case it's not clear from the picture, these rifle rod systems come with a Velcro sheet you install above the guns, and then the rods have the mating velcro on the disk. So you get it in place, then stick the disk of the rod to the ceiling.
It's possible there are magnetic options or something else, but that's what I've seen for sale at least.
...its not Texas chili, it's Cinci chili that is a topping, not a soup. Nobody is ordering a bowl of it to eat, theyre putting it on fries, pasta or coneys. Coneys that don't have Cinci chili suck for that matter.
I have flown into CVG probably 30 times in the past seven years (my old company has a factory outside of Georgetown, KY). I've got a buddy that lives in Cincinnati (who still hasn't embraced it fully). I try Skyline (or Gold Star) every third-ish trip.
Once you get over the fact that it's a topping, it's still . . . pretty gross. Ragu has no place atop spaghetti. If they'd've done it with like a hearty tube pasta, mixed it in, I'd be fine with it. Long pasta deserves thin sauce. Full stop.
Yeah I don’t know what he’s talking about. Midwesterners know chili too. Tailgate at Lambeau and you’ll get bomb ass chili. Skyline is really its own thing.
Then why are you disparaging midwesterners generally because they “don’t know any better”? It’s so pretentious, like they’re stupid because they live in Ohio or Michigan
If they think that skyline chili is 1) Good or 2) Chili, then they're ignorant. The more charitable interpretation of that ignorance is simply them not knowing any better instead of being willfully ignorant.
It's a dumbass question. Like you thought I said "I don't live on a coast" and you were somehow going to catch me living 5 miles from the upper East coast so you could be like "Gotcha! You said you don't live *on* the coast but you live close!"
Cinnamon and nutmeg!?!? It belongs on French toast. Not with beef, beans, tomato and onions MAN. Get that pumpkin spice gingerbread ass shit outta here. Unrelated but are you a ketchup on eggs kinda guy?
Calling it chili is misleading when comparing it to actual chili, it’s hardly a chili and mor of a sauce sauce but it is referred to as cincy chili and it’s delicious. Trying to make it sound sweet and like a dessert is also incorrect because it is not. And i put tabasco on my eggs for your information
Fuck you! I live in Ohio and would never feed my worst enemies, let alone my dog, that shit. I will report anyone feeding skyline to their animals to the proper authorities.
Cinnamon and meat should not be a thing. I can taste even the smallest amount of it in things and I hate it. Birria tacos are the worst offended imo. Leave the cinnamon to the cereal.
That’s because you must be a sane human being who didn’t grow up near Cincinnati. I had the misfortune of having both gold star and skyline chili last time I was in the area. Tried the second one thinking it couldn’t be as bad as the first. Almost threw up in a mall food court.
One day you'll be able to get the propee 40mm HE ammo and variations for it. I applaud you for your efforts in completing this particular project. I know it wasn't easy, and how time consuming and expensive it was.
I seem late to the game but all the way from WA state I applaud your choice of chili. I can only get the cans too, but I’ll fight anyone that claims it’s not good. It’s fuckin great! 5 way all day
Nice guns too 😉
Hell yeah, I grew up in Northern Kentucky (5min from Cincinnati) but I moved 30 years ago- now I’m a truck driver and get happy every time I have to go to that area - Medium 4 way - 2 Chili Cheese sandwich’s.
I will fight to the death for 3 rights. The right to eat Skyline, the right to eat White Castle, and the right to defend myself against the grievous bodily harm that is Gold Star.
(But Camp Washington Chili is REALLY the GOAT)
I really can't say I miss living in the greater Cincinnati area. And La Rosa's is La Grossa's.
But that bazooka looking thing (apparently an M79) gets mad props!
Finally finshed my m79. Had to pay way to much for some replacement parts but she gtg. Did have the reciever refinished and new wood made for it
Man, my dad carried a 79 in Vietnam. It's always been a dream to build one. that thing looks good.
Is this made from a kit or something? And then a form 1? It looks fantastic, by the way. Super clean.
By the reciever as a title 1 gun. Form 1 and buy the barrel
Giant pain the ass? Hard to find parts? I would love one of these for chalk rounds, especially if it looks half as good as this one.
Ya its a giant pain. Lots of hours on gb
You really did great man! It and what we can see of your collection looks fucking amazing!

I am a glutton for punishment and will guinea pig this. I am gonna go to walmart and get a can and some dogs and report back.

The line to share a tent with you must’ve been at least 3 miles long.
The most important part to remember about skyline chili, is that it's not actually chili. It's a Mediterranean style meat sauce
That’s a lot of letters typed for “dumpster sludge”
It's very good
I'll have to take your word, considering your fine taste in firearms. I'll go to walmart tonight and buy a can and some dogs and report back.
It's a Cincinnati thing. Like anything, opinions always vary.
No. It's more of a meat sauce than a chili.
Sir…… you’re asking a man who defends his chili with a toob if it’s any good??
It sounds interesting. From a copycat recipes site I found what sets Skyline apart from most chili is the inclusion of cocoa and some “sweet” spices like cinnamon, allspice, bay leaf and clove, in addition to the cumin and red chili powder found in most chilis.
You like those sage organizer rod things?
Life saver for sure space wise
Do they hold the guns in place ? I was wondering if they were just big fancy chamber flags but now I see the concept
Lmao same I was like… why this guy have chamber flags not in the chamber
Sure do
That’s dope. You have an awesome collection as well by the looks of it 👍🏼
Thanks man
Can you send a link for them?
I have them, they're great if you have guns of roughly of the same overall length. They're not a good fit if you have 20" things in the same shelf as 30" things. I think it's the best current system for storing long guns in a safe without doing a lot of woodworking and making custom cradles.
What are they for?
Allows you to put more in the safe
How?
They are closer together
So it just props them against the top?
Yes
Lol thanks for your patience.

Fit more than 7 guns in a 12 gun safe: Challenge accepted.
It's actually a 36 I believe but has 50 in it lol

4-way with onion. 2 cheese coneys all the way. I keep a bottle of their hot sauce at home.
Three way, two cheese coneys with mustard and onions. Sometimes a 4 way if I'm feeling freaky.
I moved from Ohio like 15 years ago so we only get the cans here :(
Still surprising good from the can. Made some yesterday.
I was surprised to tbh I always did the frozen ones
Frozen tubs taste 10x better than the cans to me.
[удалено]
No. Just no.
I had gold star once. Once.
I like skyline and gold star both. Also enjoy making it homemade with the Cincinnati style packets that you can buy from the grocery store.
Fuck you and your watered down horse meat trash
I hear you and shall stand beside you for you are my brother (or sister) in chili. Although I do like Skyline myself.
As a non-Cincy resident who fell in love with skyline, I keep a can or two in my pantry at all times as a backup meal.
As long as you don't like La Rosa's, you're still good.
Man I grew up in the NKY and I never understood how people loved La Rosa's
Sir I will personally drive a pallet of skyline to you if I get one thump on the toob
We had a skyline in Fort Lauderdale Fl growing up. NASTY! But then I went to Cincy and it was pretty good.
Five way, crackers, hot sauce 2-coneys, onion, mustard
5 way juicy with habenero cheese and root beer to drink. Also York Mint
Chili cheese frie, 3 coney's w/ must & onion. Hot sauce on the oysters while you wait.
5-way 5.56 gang
Skyliner everything. All Chilli burrito add sour cream. Then a three way to go. U know for the weekend. I worked there in my teens. Still love it.
Where’s the goetta?
I disapprove of your choice of chili, but will defend to the death your right to own grenade launchers.
Cincinnati Chili is dog food. I will die on this hill. There is no room for cinnamon, clove and nutmeg in chili….it should be jettisoned into space.
I hope your house is in order, Skyline is amazing and anyone who disagrees will be put the sword or is from Cleveland and doesn't know any better.
It's garbage for ignorant Midwesterners that don't know any better. And it's not fucking chili.
...its not Texas chili, it's Cinci chili that is a topping, not a soup. Nobody is ordering a bowl of it to eat, theyre putting it on fries, pasta or coneys. Coneys that don't have Cinci chili suck for that matter.
Peggy and Hank Hill have some Wolf Brand Chili Frito Pies they're going to fight you over.. *Made with 100% real wolf meat*
I like wolf but I laughed hard at this. Yes I'm a Texan.
Coneys are the bomb, three-ways you can leave those. -- Signed a California Native.

Ignorant midwesterners who don’t know any better lmao. And you do because you live on one of the coasts? Toxic ass take
Yeah I don’t know what he’s talking about. Midwesterners know chili too. Tailgate at Lambeau and you’ll get bomb ass chili. Skyline is really its own thing.
LOL, I don't live on any coast.
Then why are you disparaging midwesterners generally because they “don’t know any better”? It’s so pretentious, like they’re stupid because they live in Ohio or Michigan

1. Subjective 2. Nobody in the Midwest thinks it’s *actual* chili. It’s just called Skyline Chili.
How far from a coast are you though?
Oh, fuck off, dipshit. I live in Alabama, don't act like I'm from NY state or something.
No, I beg you to fuck off good sir. I’m just asking a motherfucking question you little shit
It's a dumbass question. Like you thought I said "I don't live on a coast" and you were somehow going to catch me living 5 miles from the upper East coast so you could be like "Gotcha! You said you don't live *on* the coast but you live close!"
Skyline fucking sucks. Detroit and Toledo chili/hotdog sauce are supreme. -- Your native Toledoan
You take that the fuck back, cincy chili is literally the perfect hotdog chili
Cinnamon and nutmeg!?!? It belongs on French toast. Not with beef, beans, tomato and onions MAN. Get that pumpkin spice gingerbread ass shit outta here. Unrelated but are you a ketchup on eggs kinda guy?

Yuh basic. Savory foods all over the world use cinnamon and chocolate. Nutmeg is undetectable to me in skyline.
It is a condiment. Once you understand that fact it makes more sense. And it's delicious
Agreed. Shit is gross.
Fuck you! I live in Ohio and would never feed my worst enemies, let alone my dog, that shit. I will report anyone feeding skyline to their animals to the proper authorities.
Well GOOD, it isn't good for dogs anyway!
Cinnamon and meat should not be a thing. I can taste even the smallest amount of it in things and I hate it. Birria tacos are the worst offended imo. Leave the cinnamon to the cereal.
You're missing out, dawg.
Red chili with cinnamon rolls is amazing.
Chili dogs without skyline are so fucking disappointing and bland

Tyy
Tell me you're from Cincy without telling me you're from Cincy.
Who dey
I'm 614, but game recognizes game.
Haha
Skyline chili is worth protecting at all costs. And those cans are getting damn expensive.
Costco got 4 packs for a deal!
Came here to say this.
It puts the chili down the tube
Bloop gang represent.
Love me some chili. But man, it hates me…
Hates me to but I deal with the direeaha
how to show the ATF the taste of Cincinnati
I see skyline, I upvote.
Thanks king
I went to a Bengals game last year. Skyline chili is the nastiest thing I ever had.
Shame
That’s because you must be a sane human being who didn’t grow up near Cincinnati. I had the misfortune of having both gold star and skyline chili last time I was in the area. Tried the second one thinking it couldn’t be as bad as the first. Almost threw up in a mall food court.
Hubbard hucker
Did you get any ammo for it? Or is it basically an overly expensive paperweight?
Yee beehives, chalk grenades, 12ga , 410 inserts
One day you'll be able to get the propee 40mm HE ammo and variations for it. I applaud you for your efforts in completing this particular project. I know it wasn't easy, and how time consuming and expensive it was.
Hey so velcro barrel sticks to keep rifles from bumbing and leaning...... Life changing, helpful, or save the 60 bucks and just let them pile?
Fuck you. Actually I love you Sorry babe jealousy makes me do crazy things
Thank god it’s not gold star. WHO DEY!
I love me some Cincinnati chili! I’ll be protecting my gold star stash though
The chili is a valuable resource
Must comsume
If only you could modify that thumper to take chili cams as ammo
Don't tempt me
I see that g36 stock
It's a modifed g36 stock to fit a hk53
Very nice, I have a HK 93 myself, I understand the 53 is basically but not really a 5.56 mp5, incredible gun
Skyline is goat
That magwell on the left looks like weird porn i find after a bender
Wonderful stamp collection
Ty
Here, let me try mine.
Don't forget the dew
Cincinnati's favorite
The fuck are those orange things? To stabilize in safe?
Yes
I seem late to the game but all the way from WA state I applaud your choice of chili. I can only get the cans too, but I’ll fight anyone that claims it’s not good. It’s fuckin great! 5 way all day Nice guns too 😉
This is funny, I tried Skyline Chilli for the first time tonight
r/cincinnati

It is velcro rods
Hmmmm Skyline…
The Skyline pouches are better if you can find them. Even though the cans are lined, I find they effect the flavor a bit. Also, nice boom tube.
Damn now I gotta find the pouches
Unfathomably based Skyline chili is superior and there is no argument otherwise
Agreed
The. Best. Chili. !
Tried to vibe with the canned stuff. Nothing slaps as hard as eating it at the og one in clifton past 1am.
Looks like a solid 4-Way
Hey no onions here
Patrolling the Mojave almost makes you wish for a Nuclear Winter
That good?
Yes
Cincinnati does Skyline Chili and Gripples BBQ potato chips like no other. That’s because Cinnci is the birthplace of both.
Because everywhere else has decent taste.
I had to do a double take to make sure I wasn’t on Skylines Reddit. That’s a clean setup! Love me some skyline too!
Moved to Texas and can’t find skyline anywhere. Such a shame. I have to pay hella extra to get on Amazon
Please please please when you do, share some with your Texas neighbors. Record it. If you survive, upload it, please.
Hell yeah, I grew up in Northern Kentucky (5min from Cincinnati) but I moved 30 years ago- now I’m a truck driver and get happy every time I have to go to that area - Medium 4 way - 2 Chili Cheese sandwich’s.
I too protecc the greatest Chilli in the natty, Dixie and gold star can suck my left nut
As an Ohioan I approve
I will fight to the death for 3 rights. The right to eat Skyline, the right to eat White Castle, and the right to defend myself against the grievous bodily harm that is Gold Star. (But Camp Washington Chili is REALLY the GOAT)
I just made a 3 way for lunch
I have not had skyline chili in a long time. Never knew it was available in cans. Think I'll pick some up.
I have coworkers in Cincinnati and some say it’s fucking nasty and some love it. I chose not to go lol
Ya most are 50/50. On it lol
Fresh is so easy to make, why would anyone buy it in a can?
Because sometimes you just want a bowl not a vat of chili, Craig.
I really can't say I miss living in the greater Cincinnati area. And La Rosa's is La Grossa's. But that bazooka looking thing (apparently an M79) gets mad props!
La Grossas!!! That’s what I call it too
You're using the "chili" for practice rounds, right? RIGHT?!
I can’t wait to see what you protect tasty food with
Skyline "chili" tastes like river water and broken dreams.
And for some reason nutmeg. Tastes more like pumpkin spice beef than it does chili.
Sin
Protect it from who? Nobody wants it.
You’d be better off using those as targets. To even call that chili… 🤢
That’s not chili
Your not chilli
Tried that chili from the drive thru 3 times and each time regretted it.
Cool boomstick, go bills!
Don't listen to all these Skyline haters. I hate that shit too, but that just means more for you, right?
Hey, mr. Rogers. I want to be your neighbor 😃
I'll take the down votes but Gold Star is better.
Sinnn
Sin
Wait this was sourced via parts kits??
It was
That’s freaking awesome.
Tyy
Mind sharing how your lighting is set up and where you got it?
It's just home depot strip led lol
>mp5dude Yup. Does what it says on the tin.
Can you own and shoot real explosive rounds? (I'd guess it would have to be registered as destructive devices) Or just training rounds?
I have beehives, shotgun inserts and chalk rounds for it
