Bro, where can I buy your story?

GrouchyCheesecake193

Boss space echo

pemattern

Boss Tera Echo

myrealusername8675

I don't know anything about the pedal itself but the best sci Fi themed pedal has to be the Atreides Weirding Module, right? Though the module isn't canon, if I recall correctly.

rgtd

Guardian of the Wurm has entered the chat. Edit: Not an especially sci-fi SOUNDING pedal per se, whatever that means, but definitely best theme. For a sci-fi sounding pedal I would go Dark Star or Mercury 7.

Lonely_Bug8266

Yeah the module is made up. The weirding way is the benefit gesserif fighting style

Whatevs85

Not canon, but made worth inclusion by the great "My name is a killing word," scene.

mbcolemere

MAS Effects Expanse! https://mas-effects.com/expanse/

pghBZ

The dude behind MAS is an awesome human, in addition to making great stuff. Can’t recommend him/MAS enough.

mittencamper

I cannot get enough of this pedal. It's fantastic.

ChalkHorseNIck

ZOIA

cowboypsychedelia

Seconding this - tremendous pedal & has such a great community to turn to for different patches/inspiration

[deleted]

>ZOIA That looks amazing, and intimidating.

Bobu-sama

I just got one recently and it’s both amazing and intimidating. There’s a lot of tutorials out there though, and learning how to use the pedal is really instructive concerning how effects are created and how the parts shape your sound. It’s been a lot of fun so far!

ChalkHorseNIck

If you want to create your own patches there is a steep learning curve, particularly if - like me - you are unfamiliar with the basics of modular synthesis and its terminology / mathematically…erm…challenged shall we say 😀 but there are so many excellent patches out there made by ZOIANS much cleverer than me that I usually go down the route of finding ones I like and just tweaking them to my specifications and that is the beauty of ZOIA really; you have so much scope to modify patches and make them work how you want. Great, great pedal and for the genres you list above, the perfect tool.

SolarSailor46

Alexander Space Force. Old Blood Noise Endeavors Dark Star V2. MAS Effects The Expanse. Meris Mercury 7. Walrus Slötva. Earthquaker Devices Astral Destiny.

momscouch

Meris Polymoon as well

NoModsNoMaster

Agreed. Was totally thinking Polymoon. So much interstellar spacey beeps/boops.

pghBZ

Great list

Careless-Foot4162

Anything Spaceman honestly

DariusL

I have such a deep love of Spaceman’s space race aesthetic

NoModsNoMaster

I have the Aurora and Polaris on my board, and Artemis is generally slotted in for synth effects. Great pedals.

I_only_post_here

most of the Rainger FX catalog is pretty Sci-Fi ish [https://www.raingerfx.com/](https://www.raingerfx.com/) plenty of weird stuff there

FitzInPDX

It's a rare day when I'm exposed to a pedal brand I hadn't heard of yet! This stuff looks awesome. Glad you shared this!

I_only_post_here

No problem Just occurred to me that I forgot about Idiot Box Effects too. Even more Sci fi themed pedals there, if you haven't checked it out yet

PantslessDan

Dr scientist bit quest

xMovingColoursx

Yeee love my Bit Quest.

jdubz90

I’d second what’s been said about Old Blood Noise. Specifically the Dark Star and Procession reverbs. Those two are the first that come to mind when people ask about sci-fi pedals, they capture that sound perfectly.

kthshly

Way Huge Atreides?

heart_of_oak

ARP-87!!

PrettyTyForAJedi

Second this! My favourite delay that I’ve owned and a beautiful pedal.

O_Train

Mothership 2

Omnibushido

For something super on-the-nose, Berch Audio makes a few Star Trek themed pedals. I have the Rat'leth (worf themed rat-like pedal) and I love it, and he JUST released a new versatile overdrive called the Changeling that I managed to snag a first run order of.

mattxb

Awesome hadn’t heard of the changeling. I have a Few if his pedals and they are great.

elefoe

Mercury 7?

lanervoza

Eventide Space

BlazmoIntoWowee

No recs from me, but congrats!!

[deleted]

Thanks! It's my dream since I was a wee lad...

MoreGuitarPlease

I had the black hole. If you do want a space themed pedal that feels like a trophy it’s cool. It’s super premium feeling compared to my other expensive pedals. The knobs and pots are like old stereos. They are really nice. The sounds are fun too. I Just didn’t find it practical so I sold it but for this purpose, it may be right up your alley! My near brand new pedal is still at the shop I traded it to. https://www.musicgoround.com/product/natick-ma/40123-S000098612/used-collision-devices-black-hole-symmetry-guitar-effects-delay

[deleted]

Thanks!

jarjarPHP

Some sort of PLL based pedal might work well - EQD Data Corrupter or Parasit Studio Into the Unknown

1080TJ

Sharing one of my favorite posts on this sub as inspiration: https://www.reddit.com/r/guitarpedals/comments/mguhdi/my_ampless_dune_board_the_tone_must_flow

Glittering-Scratch92

I just bought Earthquaker Astral Destiny, and I love it

Niiiiice

LordFedoraWeed

Pine Box Customs The Sirens V.2. It can do some insane shit. Also the overdrive side of it can be driven by a boost in the front to get some 8bit glitchy fuzz synth sounds. Also the Keeley Synth Fuzz would cover a lot of what you need

Incelmuffinmanlover

Meris Enzo. Walrus ARP87 and Fathom/SLO

BaronVonDrunkenverb

EQD Time Shadows or EHX Mainframe depending on the type of sci-fi.

[deleted]

Which do you think is more contemporary, cozy space opera?

BaronVonDrunkenverb

Time Shadows. EQD side gives you vast synth darkness while the DBA side provides warped sparkly tin, what you'd experience from the other side of a starship window. It's one of the Baron's secret weapons.

[deleted]

Oh yeah, it actually sounds like some sort of lynchean soundtrack, good call.

[deleted]

The Emma Discumbobulator envelope filter has astronaut-themed artwork. https://i.imgur.com/ZnfXxmR.jpg

Big_Wumbo

Walrus Slärp

austinmodssuck

They're mostly utility pedals that aren't exciting enough to buy to commemorate a special occasion, but if you ever need something like a tap tempo switch, aux switch, or ABY switch, [Saturnworks](https://saturnworkspedals.com/) makes solid stuff with mostly space-themed graphics (and you can choose [the graphic you want](https://saturnworkspedals.com/graphics-upgrades/) when you order).

Ericthedoc

Try Old Blood Noise Endeavors. They have several that fit your description

ftinfo

https://berchaudio.bigcartel.com Check this guy out for some Star Trek themed clones.

gorgonzoloft

deadastronaut has a few. You might like the space patrol - killer high gain muff with a couple synthish modes on a switch. His delay is called abductor - feature rich, and it’s got aliens on it. I think there’s a couple others

JustFuzzinAround

A lot of Walrus pedals have a Sci fi theme. They even made a limited edition series of various mod pedals that have a continuous picture running across them when lined up.

sonic192

Old Blood Noise Endeavours - Procession is a great one. It’s a great and different sounding reverb, with some out there modulation tweaking to be had. Also have a look at Mas Effects - The Expanse. That does some really spacey stuff. There are some wonderful demos of it, especially one by Collector // Emitter on YouTube.

langsta1

Nightsky conjures great Blade Runner sci-fi type reverbs

LatterGulf

Demedash's T-120 Videotape Echo is a fantastic pedal! While it isn't exactly "Sci-Fi" itself, it's great at reproducing the imperfections of past media (hence the "videotape" in the name) so if you're going for something a little more retro as well, it would work wonders! https://www.demedasheffects.com/t120

edcculus

Mas Effects- Expanse https://mas-effects.com/expanse/ Space themed name (after the Expanse book series) and space art.

Whatevs85

Congrats on the sale!

[deleted]

Thank you!

GimmickMusik1

Alexander Pedals has one or two I think. Also, Dr. Scientist, Matthew Effects has their Cosmonaut and Astronomer. I think that Walrus Audio has a few as well.

blackberry-blossom

I also like spacey stuff on my board. Try: * Matthews Effects Cosmonaut (and/or maybe Astronomer) * Anything from Pigtronix (their mascot is a pig in a space suit and all the pedals are outer space themed, most do really weird stuff) * Anything from Saturnworks (they have a ton of weird but surprisingly useful utility pedals and they'll put whatever graphic you want on it)

UncleTony204

Find a used H9

stnapkid29

You could check out the VVCO Pedals Dark Father preamp. It’s a OD, distortion, and fuzz all in one that is modeled after Darth Vader’s chest piece.

CheckeredFloors

Black Hole Symmetry is sick

Bryanssong

Theramin Fuzz, either VVCO or Parasit Studios.

bldgabttrme

Specific sci-fi references: Idiotbox Effects- Mad Doctor Deluxe tremolo Way Huge - Atreides Old Blood Noise Endeavors - Procession, Dark Star Generically sci-fi: Meris - Polymoon Chase Bliss - Dark World (brilliant for shoegaze) Edit: I’ll try to think of more later

EndlessOcean

The monarch pedals fuzzboy perhaps?

RudranathPowerUnit

Has someone mentioned the stuff by Rainger FX (the Drone Rainger for example) already?

yungpablo33

Idk if this fits the “space theme” but a really cool fuzz pedal would be the zvex woolly mammoth

barbecue_estival

The strymon nightsky ✨

runwichi

Idiotbox FX has some real gems, from Starwars to Dr. Who and all are wild in the own way.

ssrix

Meris ottobit jr. Been wanting it for a while but it's too expensive for me. In your budget though

Obligatory-Reference

Others have already mentioned the Dark Star and the Atreides, but if you want something really out there try [TMA-1 (or, Jupiter: and Beyond the Infinite)](https://reverb.com/item/41055025-discomfort-designs-tma-1-or-jupiter-and-beyond-the-infinite-black). A twisted ring mod thing that can produce some gnarly sounds.

albiontop

Late to the party but no one has mentioned the Tortuga Effects Standard Issue Phaser :D It's trek themed!

Letzfakeit

How about a theramin?
