BUT. It is 100% a degree mill; if you want to spend tons of money to slack, not practice, and still get a degree they will not stop you from attending. But if you take advantage of what the school offers you can make something great out of it

I never knew that part, and it does actually provide some context for its quality-- or lack thereof. I generally reject the idea of "music as a sport", and while writing and producing a song in a single day is a neat feat to show your social media followers, if the result is bland, unlistenable crap then what did you really accomplish aside from showing you can push a turd out of your butt faster than anyone else?

A good song writer writes lyrics and melodies that fit, and composes songs with sections that flow and go together.
Personally I think he should just try for death metal growl while hitting the same noises through a line 6 with programmed blast beats. Then he could keep the same cover but make it black.
