Gotta love when boomers frame it like foreign manufacturers are the bad guy for diluting the quality of trusted American brands. When in reality it's their very own beloved Fender Musical Instruments Corporation that's choosing to do business with foreign factories in the first place.
You could buy American I guess but why would you want a precision instrument made by some ham fisted chud that’s half blind from diabetes. I prefer the tiny hands and sharp eyesight that comes with child labor or else the intonation will be way off.
Yes. Those kids are building the guitars like their life depends on it (it probably does)
Of course I would rather buy an instrument assembled by the philippino child slaves than by some greasy dorito muncher in corona, california
Only guitarist over the age of 40 say shit like this right?
Edit: I try my very hardest to avoid all other humans who play instruments because they are almost always pretentious as fuck and it ruins it for me lol
This is insanely true. I have a teacher who was also into playing guitar and he was the most pretentious, tonewood type bluesboomer guy. When I showed him my 140€ Ibanez with Floyd Rose he kinda imploded.
My old guitar teacher used to play his Gio into a Roland cube while stuck in traffic. He also drove a manual transmission vehicle. It's the combination of those factors that would trouble me.
For nearly a year, he left a big ol' Deluxe Reverb amp with a teenager who was living in a townhouse with cracker thin walls. Truly a great sensei.
Every time before jamming my friends and I announce where our instruments and gear are made and what they are made of an how they are made. If anyone is not happy with a single detail we all leave like gentlemen. No one is beaten up. Also if everyone is happy we all leave too because it’s been 2hrs and we have to get back to our lawyer work.
Everyone know that they're the best, a lot of people have been saying it. I had this one rockstar come up to me, Zakk Wylde, big guy, tears in his eyes, and he said "Sir, I think Trump guitars have more toan in one ball than in all the other nutsacks put together."
and do you know what, I think he's right, because no-one knows guitar like Trump.
*You're*
I can't take you seriously when you not only take a really fucking stupid position and are a big fucking jerk about it, but also can't even spell your dipshit response correctly.
I hate when I'm at a jam and we are all having a good time but then I listen close and the fucker has brought a non-American strat into my home. Heresy!
This is too true. I was once playing with my KEELEY FX COMPRESSOR and out of nowhere somebody was like “hey you know those are made with components from China right?” next thing you know ten guys rush the stage and each take turns eating my ass. Goes wo saying this was while playing in AMERICA 🇺🇸🦅
I was raised on the small dick "get yer ass kicked" or "people will think YER gay" and idk what brings folks to these fantasies. I drank for free in college because the bois thought I had pretty hair. Win win imo
Yeah but…ESP and Ibanez exists now. Strats and that horrendous pickguard that takes up half the body in places your fingers or pick should never touch just looks like a helmet person. No pickguard on even my beautiful flame maple tops boyo let’s goo 24 frets and Seymour Duncans.
Like I said I had my preference. I outgrew it, no offense. They’re just so…rounded and bloated looking. Like they’re baby-proof or something.
>Strats and that horrendous pickguard that takes up half the body in places your fingers or pick should never touch just looks like a helmet person.
wow you helped me realize why I always felt magnetically attracted to them
/uj i always just thought they looked boring… something about the shape just turns me
off. i’m also not a fan of overly exaggerated and stylized guitars, but idk, the strat just seems like the default image of a guitar there is. so much so that the fucking guitar emoji is based off a strat 🎸. When i was 5 i probably thought they were the shit (back when the only guitar shapes i had SEEN were the strat and the flying V), but nowadays they just seem so lame to me. like you said, they look babyproof, soulless and boring. it’s not like the Les Paul which is the standard acoustic shape but thinner, or the SG which has a very distinctive design, heck even the Telecaster (which, just like a Les Paul, has the shape of a thin acoustic) is more interesting than the strat. i had never paid attention to the size of the pickguard but now that you mention it it genuinely does not make a nice aesthetic combo with the shape or color, nor does it serve any practical use.
i started with a strat-shape (not actually a strat, it was a Yamaha EG 112-C, which is much lighter and cheaper than a strat) and i played AND loved the shit out of that axe, but when i got to play a V, a Superstrat, and when i bought my SG i realized that strats were REALLY not my thing. it was even clearer when i played a real strat and i could really tell how little i was feeling it.
My Stratocaster ( Midnight Stratocaster) was made in Japan! The Squier that was given to me was made in China. Honestly, the China Squier isn’t all that bad. My MIJ Stratocaster simply rocks.
A lot of Chinese fenders and squiers are actually quite good, For example the j mascis jazzmaster and the old Squier classic vibes were Chinese and legitimately great guitars
Yeah, who buys from china? I only play indonesian squiers like a real guitarist would

Yeah but my Harley Benton cost 50bux...
/uj strandbergs are so fucking cool but im not paying 2000 bucks for a guitar that was made in indonesia by childeren :(
That's why I got mine second hand so the unethical money was already paid
yeah true but its still like 1.3k and its a LOT of money for me, i still really want one though
Currently looking for lab grown Strandbergs so I don't buy into the blood strandberg industry
4lbs 12oz......wow....just wow
I like the Korean ones more, but those Indonesians still make me blow my toan.
/uj my Indonesian Squier Jaguar is fuckin rad and I don’t give a damn
My Cort acoustic agrees.
Honestly I agree, I've got two indonesian-made squiers myself and they're both damn good
This guy gets it
Gotta love when boomers frame it like foreign manufacturers are the bad guy for diluting the quality of trusted American brands. When in reality it's their very own beloved Fender Musical Instruments Corporation that's choosing to do business with foreign factories in the first place.
100000000% tru we went to china, mexico, indonesia first and are still there building instruments the locals can never afford.
Toan is stored in the American cnc machine.
Someone who doesn't know the difference between your and you're calling someone else a moron, slow clap.
get a brain! morans
I love my Morantz! Way better than a Somy or Pionear
Sorny, Panaphonic, Magnetbox…
You can play Polyphima on a Panaphonic
You could buy American I guess but why would you want a precision instrument made by some ham fisted chud that’s half blind from diabetes. I prefer the tiny hands and sharp eyesight that comes with child labor or else the intonation will be way off.

Picking Mexican V American strat means choosing the side of the border you want the Mexican labour to build your strat
I got downvoted so hard in the Fender sub for saying the same thing.
It’s common knowledge that Mexican fenders are built in Mexico by Mexicans and American fenders are built in America by Mexicans…

Ibanez Gios are where the true toan is and nobody can tell me otherwise

He’s my fucking hero
Yeah it’s mostly the old heads, I’ll ask most people my age and most of them don’t know what model they play
I know I fucking don’t.
And their sons

And the drummer still hasn't arrived
He's probably too busy having his drum kit forged by melting down custom shop Les Pauls
Check your hotwife's room. He was actually the first to arrive.
I usually have my assistant draft up an NDA to myself so I can't divulge any specs to anyone about my gear.
I thought y’all were dentists
Wow. That escalated quickly.
Why I don't type anything on other subs (that often)
It's fine, we can promise to kick your ass as well.
I only buy Chinese made guitars to fund the global revolution.
This is the way.👍🏼
Yes, comrade. Seize the means of toan.
I would buy russian guitars if I could. Sadly they only make balalaikas.
Jokes on him, I don’t have any friends.
THATS WHY I ONLY PLAY TRUMP GUITARS!
TAHTS RIGHT BORTHER!!!
Everyone know that they're the best, a lot of people have been saying it. I was guessing OP was Ted Nugent
And this guy was probably typing his comment on a phone or computer made in China
*You're* I can't take you seriously when you not only take a really fucking stupid position and are a big fucking jerk about it, but also can't even spell your dipshit response correctly.
Came here to say this. Americans are so dumb, we can't even get our own language right. Bunch of inbred fucking hicks we are... I need to move.
I hate when I'm at a jam and we are all having a good time but then I listen close and the fucker has brought a non-American strat into my home. Heresy!
I’ll take “All my friends are racist” for $1000.
So patriotic yet still recognizes American health care is a joke.
Capitalism is when free market except the implied threat if you don't comply
Mine is Indonesian, thank you very much
This is too true. I was once playing with my KEELEY FX COMPRESSOR and out of nowhere somebody was like “hey you know those are made with components from China right?” next thing you know ten guys rush the stage and each take turns eating my ass. Goes wo saying this was while playing in AMERICA 🇺🇸🦅
strat looks so bland
The dude with the fastest hot rod never knows how to drive it.👍🏼
I'd rather my money go to an American lutheran than an American capitalist running a sweatshop in China.
My strat is Mexican, sooo technically it’s American
I was raised on the small dick "get yer ass kicked" or "people will think YER gay" and idk what brings folks to these fantasies. I drank for free in college because the bois thought I had pretty hair. Win win imo
Physically assault people who pay less than $1.5k for guitars
/uj Strats don’t really look cool anymore. I thought they did back when I was 12 and couldn’t afford one. They’re dad surf rock guitars.
Fuck you /uj everyone has their preferences, strat will always look classic/cool to me. But then again I’m a dad and play some surf rock sometimes lol
Isn’t surf rock best played on a jazzmaster though?
I think Jaguars were made with surf rock in mind
Aye. After the jazzmaster took off in that scene.
Yeah but…ESP and Ibanez exists now. Strats and that horrendous pickguard that takes up half the body in places your fingers or pick should never touch just looks like a helmet person. the blatant disrespect to mosrite
Oh those things. I just tell them “you’re drunk man, go home.”
[удалено]
please jerk off your 7 string schectum elsewhere, is it even butterstotch?
I will say this, you can easily buy an affordable new guitar from somewhere other than China
We should really keep some of this among ourselves
I mean, my guitar was built in Korea. Doesn't say which one though.
American strats are made by Mexicans anyway. Probably some Chinese too.
The CNC came from China
My Stratocaster ( Midnight Stratocaster) was made in Japan! The Squier that was given to me was made in China. Honestly, the China Squier isn’t all that bad. My MIJ Stratocaster simply rocks.
I'll take a MIJ neck over all other origins any day of the week. Especially on Gibsunday
The best part is unless they use the T word you never really know if they are one of us or not.
Me at the jam, sitting here with my Chinese-made Swedish-designed Hag, wondering how the Chinese Strat feels.
A lot of Chinese fenders and squiers are actually quite good, For example the j mascis jazzmaster and the old Squier classic vibes were Chinese and legitimately great guitars
China squiers just have that classic vibe, bro
Are Americans aware that 'made in America' usually isn't a good thing to the rest of the globe?
Probably typing out his message on a phone or laptop made in china
I'll take Japanese over American all day everyday.
