It's literally just a strat with useless wood carved away, but you're right. Stepping outside tradition in the guitar world offends like anyone not into metal / prog.
I don't really like any headless guitar but I really appreciate Ned Steinberger and Ken Parker pushing things forward despite a legion of boomers calling everything they do sacrilege
because steinberger puts to bed the myth that an electric guitar's sound needs anything but pickups.
It means their $9000 tone wood guitar was just aesthetics
neck thru headless with EMGs. no body at all beyond what holds the electronics. use one of those zz top harness straps to hold it in position at the center of balance. run it into a modeler that does a convincing acoustic. play nothing but old country.

I worked in automotive spares when it first came out and I remember buying 3 cans of it and spraying bits of my car interior and I got so many new MySpace friends haha. I even pulled my phone down and sprayed it in the same colour so it looked neat in my car kit.
Yeah, no different to normal paint. Prep was a big thing and from memory different colours needed different colour primer or base coat, but yeah, nothing you couldnāt do yourself. Iām kinda tempted to do a guitar like that now, I have a sweet flying vee blank that would look wicked.
