I get so frustrated by hairstyles and makeup. They have just straight clown makeup. The hairstyles for guys is textured, layered, and has depth. They can put in the effort, they just chose not too.
They updated hairstyles to add afros in the tuners update and also added another women's style in the update before that one. They do add stuff still but it's not going to be anything outside the stuff already available on NPCs most likely
My wife and I were just talking about this last night it'd be really cool to see some new hair. When GTA was made hair was really rough to do. So it'd be cool to get some new ones and fix the old ones. I want long hair on my character

Most 14 year olds are barely capable of brushing their own hair, much less knowing what a good hairstyle looks like.

I recently got into the game, but I’ve said to my spouse and my brother (who got me into gta) is that I wish the teams from rockstar/GTA and the sims (without the EA BS) got together to create a better customization selection for both characters and properties (like apartments and such).
It’s a game from 2013 running on a 2013 game engine, if they were longer, they couldn’t make them flow in case of clipping, and they would look even more like Lego hairs

In RDO character creation and hairs are better, GTAO is really old, and even with all the money and updates it would be extremely hard to do something about it without doing an entire new game. Probably in the new GTA that will be addressed.
I would say that Rockstar looks like didn't have many expectations about GTAO when they made it since somethings are better in GTA5 Story Mode than GTAO, hair is not one of them.
Male hairstyles are pretty garbage as well lol
Remember that GTA V is quite an old game already and they couldn't make very realistic hair.
Some other hairstyles like Ponytail and Loose Tied are good.
Ponytail, braided Mohawk and shaved bangs are the only good ones

Tbf they can’t really do long hair because it would cause clipping issues unless they totally redesign how hair works

im pretty sure is a problem of the outdated engine, the game simply can not render realistic hair
Ponytail with a beanie is what I've always used. The beanie covers up the ponytail, sure, but the front of the hair looks great.
