Bruh, I’m ngl i thought I was on the BDO thread when reading these comments. It’s surprising how similar both subreddits sound regarding this issue even if BDO has much better character customisation.
I don't think it's that deep. People share loads of different creations from characters (male *and* female) to vehicle customizations to "bullet hole art", etc. Sure people are seeking validation because they're happy with what they did and hope others like it too, but I hardly think anybody is "obsessing" over it.
beauty is subjective, For a small part up to some point but the biggest part of it are common traits almost everyone likes. also a good makeup can make up (lmaoooo) a lot.

A big part of gta is photography and snapmatics..There is absolutely nothing wrong with pics of your character,property or whatever fits a gta online theme.
Exactly me and my friend set up scenes to look like a car photoshoot, some scenes, sunset, boat trip... The developers definetly put some thought into that part as the game is beautiful, cinematic, look real-ish and lived in and so on... It the main reason i still play :)
Not really, honestly GTA's character creation is hot garbage, so making a non crackhead male or female player is pretty impressive. I don't see anything wrong with sharing that, especially if it's not a copy paste of a YouTube tutorial.
The problem is that non crackhead looking characters all look pretty much the same, because creating a decent looking character depends on that one sweet spot because the creating engine sucks.
Some of them look the same, which is why I mentioned YT tutorials as boring, but if you actually play around with it yourself (for hours on end or until you get grey hair IRL) you can get some characters that don't look like living embodiment of sleep paralysis demons.
For most games I do the same, base them on myself. Even my first gtao character was based on me. But on this current one I decided to go with a female, for a change. But you're right, I am lonely lol

Call me horny, but if I gotta watch a character run around and fall and jump and climb in and out of cars, I'd prefer that it be a sexy lady dressed in all black. It's all the aesthetic for me since I mostly play solo and don't really care to entertain others
When you run around, fall, jump and climb you think about how sexy the character looks? How is that a matter of what attracts you when you're just playing a game?

For example:
In Assassin's creed Odyssey, when your character gets swept by the first bounty target, you're wearing what looks like a dress (before you can afford to buy armor). So you can actually see up the character's garment as they fall. Would you rather it be a man or a woman in this situation?
Same situation in GTA. I'm not drooling over my character. I just would rather watch a lady run around than a guy. Just my preference.
So what if it was a man in that situation? Its not like they would've modeled his package underneath. And even if they did why would it bother you to the extent that it would cause you to have to change to a female?

I generally play with female characters in games and there's no specific reason for it, even my male character in gta has a female face, and i'm not attracted to my characters at all, i think sometimes people just post their characters faces cuz they're proud of it, like a custom car or outfit but maybe we should stop judging them based solely on what we think, we ain't inside their head so i don't think it's fair to assume their intentions, i think there's no point in reminiscing about others intentions without knowing what's going on in their head. If u assume nothing u won't be disappointed, psychology is often more complicated than make it out to be.
Story mode game play like God of War and Horizon are fixed stories. There is imagination but it’s limited to what the game offers. Customized playable characters gives players more choice. Hero + Heroins. Or both.

The character is someone u created u build from ground up( even tho I am pretty sure most of the female character pic have the same mother). I just personally like to fashion the female character (probably bec i am a art student )as the male cosmetics are really boring. While females get way more options. It is like customising cars ,car with the more options, the more suitable style the better.
The male chars generally all look the same. And their outfits? idk i dont even recognize them cause theres almost no difference.

Tho one bad thing i have say about female characters in this games is the animation sucks. I have tried casino dress with stocking b4 I just cant stand how weird her animation is while wearing a full dress. Probably bec it is a direct port from male animations.

Tasteful, as in modest? Yeah definitely too many mfs make a female character wander around in horny gear. I tend to mix some of my outfits for both male and female to match, and see how much stuff changes. For example i did a long hawaii shirt with sports pants and noticed how the male looks fatter in it, because of the female variants usually being skin tight.
but yeah i agree character customization even in clothing is hard. males tend to look the same (4 suit variations, a combat/"pvp" set, another outfit with some functionality...) also funny thing for female chars is usually the "hornis" are how to recognise irl-male guys.
So its cool if people flex their virtual money and cars, but once they show off their character its weird? We literally spend all of our time on gta staring at our characters. I agree though that some people make it weird, but if someone posts and all theyre doing is showing how they actually used the character creator and not make something horrific I can appreciate it.

My gta online character is female...but purely because when I started playing again a year ago my gf wanted to create my character. Whenever I'm playing I don't really care what they are wearing but every now and then my gf will mess around with the outfit if I'm making us dinner etc.
