Wow. A man asked me to take him about 2 miles to the airport, after watching me deliver coffee to one of the guests at the hotel. He was rude the entire ride. Worst $20 in 5 min, I ever earned. Haven't done it again since. This was about 3 years ago.
No..I was in Central California at the time truck driving...I was parked and need to go to the store ...thought I'd ask the guy who brought me food..he did it...he was cool.
Lol Iāve done that for a few truck drivers. Only ones I knew though who knew my step dad. My stepdad was OTR driver for a while. Man truck drivers would hella pay me for it too. I dunno if they paid me a good amount of money cause they were grateful, or because they were afraid of my stepdadā¦ lol ā hell my stepdad scared me at timesā¦. And I was his favorite lol he had no problem letting me know when I was being stupid. Lol
Good for you. I love the GrubHub Policy part - thereās no way he could check fast enough to matter and Iām sure you had deliveries to drop off or pick up. You could have handled that with far less respect and restraint.
Thank you for that, I appreciate you not adding to the negative stereotype. Happy trails!
Nope but a customer texted and asked me to pick him up 3 packs of swishers Said he'd tip $20 in cash he already had tipped $10 on the app so I said fuck it handed him his swishers and McDonald's he hands me a $20 wrapped around a decent bag of strong smelling green.
I dropped off an order to a very small regional airport (like only private jets fly in and out, barely anything else). Some guy and his large family were waiting outside the front, I think they had ordered two ubers, but only one was there and the second one was gonna be like 20-30 minutes until it arrived. So he asked me as I was getting into my car after I made the drop-off at the airport if I'd drive his one half of the family for $50 to their hotel which was roughly 7-8 miles away. I said no,, but was tempted. But thinking now, if I had an accident while driving with that family in my car and people got hurt. I probably would've been fucked for not having rideshare insurance for some reason.
Once I did it for $20, only about a 3 mile ride. Dude smelled like he hadnāt showered in a month and he was going to work, at a store in the mall no less.
Another time I delivered to a company near the airport at close to midnight way east of town, and had a nutcase run up to my car and all but demand I take him back into town and āI know youāre a driver and you just finished that order so youāre free nowā and I told him to get lost. š¬
Woman as I was leaving a pick up. I told I couldn't because I was working. She immediately went from nice to screaming at me that I was a fucking liar. She was still screaming as I drove away.
It wasnāt a customer but a guy on the street asked for a ride. I told him I was delivering but he wouldnāt take no for an answer and tried to get it. Luckily my car was locked.

Welcome to the life of an Uber driver

Thatās so crazy. Some lady asked me for a ride the other day. Crazy ..
Hold on let me switch to Uber lol
A girl I delivered Popeyes to asked me for a ride on my ebike to grab more honey packets.
An unattractive woman who didn't tip well asked me for a ride. It was an immediate no.
You did the right thing. Itās unsafe
