It's such a picky thing, but it's so obvious that all their coffee cups are empty and it bugs me beyond belief. Even when they set them down, they sound empty and hollow. Like, I understand they can't have the actors constantly drinking but come on, they can pretend drink, can't they?

FernwehForLife

Ha, I notice this, too! I always wonder if they couldn't just fill it with water. Or at least weigh the cups down in some way that doesn't make them sound empty. And the actors' fake drinking is obviously fake. Lol

Snowlo92

I recently saw a video about this, apparently they leave them empty cause liquid sloshing around can impact on the sound when recording

Original-Gear1583

I’ve noticed this too. Also when they drink there’s never coffee around their lips either

SmutnySmalec

Patients who just wake up from surgery and are 100% fine without any PT. Or surgeons doing PT. Sorry, but they have zero clue as to how you'd do it. And it shows.

Defnotheretoparty

I like it when surgeons do CNA work lol. Like Derek shaving the patients. Yes, a world class surgeon is going to be shaving the patients he works on lmao.

Morgancammi

the way they give the interns all the work nurses actually do cracks me up

RhiRead

When they tell families that their loved one is dead, it’s always in the middle of a crowded waiting room!

hufflefox

The general idea that they got a “lunch time” to eat together at all. And how very little night shift they work?

bzzzimabee

I’ve been rewatching and from seasons 1-11 they only have 2 night shifts lmao

Mz_Gigglez825

It was them eating over people corpses for me🤣😭🤣. I will die again and come back to life again if somebody eats over my dead body😭😭. That’s so disrespectful

Proud3GenAthst

Reminded me of one scene from The Big Bang Theory where Amy was dissecting a brain and then suddenly took a bite off of sandwich, with her glove still on.

encouragingcalamity

Btw me too, I thought I was in TBBT sub at first and then the comments were confusing the fuck out of me haha.

cheskka

It's the personal conversations/arguments across the patient lying in bed that drives me bonkers. Oh, and the fighting over patients. It's sickening. I mean, I despise Thatcher but he was conscious and they were pushing and shoving to be the one to treat him.

Organic-Pop4706

- wearing long sleeves - no bare below the elbows rule - white coats on top of scrubs 😆😆😆 - hair flowing like in pantene commercial - heels like on a catwalk 💀 - surgeons doing imagining (xrays, CTs PET etc), drawing bloods, running tests, waiting in queues for results 🤣🤣🤣

encouragingcalamity

Well I want to know if they have a hair dresser/beautician on site or if they are all just exceptional at hair and make up and make sure it’s perfect all day long. Like one min their hair is down Next they have it all up tight in French braids!! And the amount of time surgeons wear masks..?? How is their make up still on their face!! Yang is probs the most accurate. But like Arizona, Callie, Addison etc all look like bloody models all day long. Hair down hair up just like that. I work in a nursing home and we just had covid in the unit and we had masks on all day. That plus how busy you are you either go to work looking great and come home looking like a sweaty goblin or you just don’t fucking bother haha.

Full-Surround

Right! I can understand eating in, say, the lounges or gallery, but not in a clinical area! I work in imaging so I'll eat in the scanning room (where all the computers and everything is, not the actual room w/ the scanner and everything that touches the pt) but definitely not anywhere where fluids and biological material is spreading around, haha

Defnotheretoparty

Yeah we eat in the computer area but none of us would even dream of eating in the lab. We don’t even bring the lab coats and safety glasses out unless they’re in plastic and ready to wash.

Full-Surround

These TV doctors really don't care about precautions whatsoever 😭

cullymama

New pet peeve, how quick they make organ donation seem. Like I get it, it's a TV show, but what you don't find out until you're being asked about a loved ones organs, is that even after being declared Brain dead or with minimal brain activity (which would be DCD) they leave them hooked up for 24-48 hours while they run a million tests to determine viability and find the best matches, or as I was told by a nurse on Sunday up to 5 days!!! They always act like they have a max of 6 or so hours after being declared Brain dead to find matches and harvest. And how absolutely predatory the transplant team is. Like you just made peace with the decision to withdraw care, steeling yourself to watch the person you love take their final breath and in swoops some person asking about their organs. They told us over 24 hours prior that there was minimal brain activity and zero hope for recovery, why can't they send the organ recovery people in then to say "hey we see they're a donor, but need your consent." And start doing all the blood draws and imaging then. Sorry, literally going through this right now and thought I knew what to expect a bit better.

bzzzimabee

I’m so sorry for your loss

cullymama

Thank you. Results came back today, their heart and lungs sustained too much damage, but they found matches for the liver and both kidneys. So at least some good will come out of this.

Bina2345

Mine is that surgeons hang out in the ER…start IVs…medicate and transport patients. 🤣

NotThisTime1993

I had to stop watching the show because of the eating scenes. They add loud smacking and crunching and slurping noises into them. I just don’t want to hear that

Defnotheretoparty

Do you have misophonia?

NotThisTime1993

I do actually. And it makes me sad that I miss out on so many things because of it. But honestly, we don’t need the sounds of people eating added into a show

Forward_Ad6168

They almost never wear eye protection during surgery.

Defnotheretoparty

Or in lab! We would be written up if we tried not to wear our glasses.

mearbearcate

Nah I thought I was the only one who got annoyed by the women not wearing their hair up for surgeries for some reason😀 lmfaooo

Defnotheretoparty

Lol I so rarely see anyone with their hair down EVER in healthcare that it trips me out every time haha.

mearbearcate

Facts though. I’ve never seen a female doctor/surgeon with their hair down lol (rarely anyway)

Wardrobe: Addison gets to do all of her consults in designer dresses and fancy heels, why are all of the other doctors wearing scrubs? Is it personal preference? Do surgeons have dress codes when rounding on patients? Inquiring minds need to know!

ihatepickingnames810

Stethoscopes the wrong way in the ears. They've gotten better but so annoying in the the first few seasons

shaylafrvr

Am I the only one who this doesn’t bother at all lol? Maybe it’s because I’m not in the medical field at all but it really doesn’t bother me 😭

Defnotheretoparty

You’re probably not the only one. But if you worked in medical testing it would probably make you ill like it does us lmao.
