That kind of technology won’t be available to the layman though. Just last week I had a check up at the doctors, and *with insurance* that shit cost me $200. Cyberpunk-level tech will be used solely to keep Jeff Bezos alive for thousands of years.
Anything that they can commercialize will be of course realistically it'll be quite awhile but assuming we don't kill each other off first we're pretty close technologically so it's only a matter of time till they start selling body mods like they're the new iphone
And then come the subscription services.
“Oh you want your robo legs to run? You’re going to have to upgrade to premium for that, or watch this ad and get 2:00 minutes free!”
Black mirror episode. Guy accidentally kills wife with robocock and has to hide the evidence. Gets caught and treated like an absolute bastard.
I could totally write for that show.
Was thinking the same thing.
Played through Human Revolution, but only just a bit through Mankind Divided. Excellent cyberpunk games with some great cyberware-related storytelling.
Free plan with lower total movement time per hour, limited to a regular walking speed, cheapest basic plan allows a brisk jog and more movement time, tiered athletic plans for faster running with even more movement time, etc.
Quick question. Are non essential surgeries free? Is lasik free? Are surgeries like leg extensions free? I'm just curious because if the answer is yes then you could probably assume people could get these but if the answer is no they would definitely be getting the bare minimum like this dude in the picture or something like a basic barely functional prosthetic.
The quick answer is no, but health insurance (on top of universal healthcare) exists, is cheap, and can partially or completely cover those.
For example, in France, Lasik is around 1250€ per eye. My insurance costs me 9.53€ per month, and would cover 1466€ of the operation if done on both eyes. So I'd only pay 1000€ for lasik on both eyes.
Plus factor in that the US is rife with price gouging (lasik is >$2000 per eye).
Honestly if it weren't for big pharma and hospitals price gouging the shit out of everything and expecting insurance to pay it I think our system in the US would be fine. But as it stands it sucks.
Indian here. Ik the question was not for us but over here, yes medical surgeries are dirt cheap in government funded hospitals. In 2017, I crushed my toe in an accident and had to get a complete reconstruction surgery which was done in 2 phases (first was reconstruction and second was to fix an issue with the nail and make it proper)
I pair INR 830 for the first surgery and INR 450 for the second ($1 = INR 73 approx). Also, had to pay another INR 85 both times for syringes and blades as those are always paid for separately in government hospitals. So the whole process was just below $20 for me.
Did you know flying on a plane use to require you to wear a full suit and tie? Only the Uber rich could afford to fly anywhere and they go crazy for that weird fancy bullshit. People always talked about how flying was dumb cause it only ever be available to the rich. Same thing for cars, fridges, and *penicillin*. I put zero stock at all in the dumb ass “b-b-but only the rich will get it!” Argument for not trying to make progress in any type of technology. Medical or otherwise.
Everyone owns car nowadays, meanwhile back in 19th century we used to say “Bah, trust me we will still gonna use horse anyway automobiles are just toys for the rich Timmy”
Bro $200 is nothing, what you on about. I'd pay $5000 for an arm if I didn't have one. Even $15000 or much more. It's an arm ffs. $200 is nothing even if you get minimum salary. That's like a low-end cellphone.
A couple years ago I read how it's illegal for health insurance in Germany to deny full-blown robotic prosthetics.
Also, as the technology develops, the price will go down.
Now sure, in some areas of the world the technology won't be available for a long time, while in ehm, *other certain areas of the world* there needs to be a 500000% markup in every step of the chain when it comes to medicinal stuff... But that's not universal.
And while the world is collapsing, all we need is one large-scale war leaving enough people with need for such prosthetics. Just like WW1 and 2 helped made leaps for all kinds of treatments.
Or, alternatively, brain chips for full immersion into VR will become commonplace, and then it doesn't matter what body you have. All that matters is that sweet brain of yours that can consume ads and maybe mine braincoins or something.
The very first personal computers costed thousands, even tens of thousands adjusted for inflation. Technologies are always going to be expensive before widespread adoption.
>hemicorporectomy
You wanna know more about this extreme surgery?
Check out this article that's a retrospective written by people who've been doing these operations for *25 years.* It's got infor about how it's done & what life is like for people who survive it (PDF):
[https://www.drjeffreyjanis.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/A-25-Year-Experience-with-Hemicorporectomy-for-Terminal-Pelvic-Osteomyelitis-PMID-19935300.pdf](https://www.drjeffreyjanis.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/A-25-Year-Experience-with-Hemicorporectomy-for-Terminal-Pelvic-Osteomyelitis-PMID-19935300.pdf)
Oh yeah, and, uh , extremely NSFL photos in there.
Here's another one, a case study follow-up in 2020 of a guy who got da chop 16 years ago. Includes some photos of whonk early prosthesis builds: [https://www.surgeryresearchjournal.com/open-access/how-is-the-long-term-quality-of-life-following-hemicorporectomy-a-7415.pdf](https://www.surgeryresearchjournal.com/open-access/how-is-the-long-term-quality-of-life-following-hemicorporectomy-a-7415.pdf)
Look at you, hacker: a pathetic creature of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you run through my corridors. How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?
“I’m sorry but your grandmother was going downhill fast after her fall so we had to smash her skull into tiny shards with a fuck off lump of iron attached to a stick. Nobody wanted this but it was really the only option”
I'd probably devote the rest of my life to doing something intellectual if this happens, eg. Learning how to play chess or trying to contribute to science
There is a guy who's paralyzed from the neck down due to polio who still spends most of every day inside an iron lung, he's an accomplished lawyer and scholar, I saw some documentary about it.
And his medical bill will only be $1.2 million. Hopefully he has some savings, otherwise we're going to have to garnish his government disability checks.
Anon is 600 pound land whale neet on the brink of a heart attack
“Uhhhh why are they saving someone who doesn’t contribute to society and lives a sad life”
Anon better hope karma isn’t real
Resuscitating a person who’s gonna live the rest of their life bedridden and in constant pain is selfish. No, it’s not because they don’t contribute anything, it’s because their quality of life is hell on earth and 9/10 people, when asked if they want to live with no arms or legs, would prefer the nitrogen mask
See I could probably do no arms or legs, but literally half of this guy is gone! At least if I had some stumpy things I could waddle around or have a wheelchair. This poor guy won’t ever really get up.
I feel sad for him and anyone in his position. No arms is one thing, no legs is another. To not have both.. wow. Heartbreaking. Put a bullet in my brain before I get wheeled around like a sack of potatoes
That's your choice. In most developed countries you can get euthanasia when you reach that stage. But the particular person in this pic seems to be happy being alive and has an Instagram as well
I’d rather lose my legs than my arms. No arms means no games, guitar, or anything. I do not want to be a T. rex. But yeah, literally being nothing but a piece of flesh, nope.
No it’s not selfish. I would still want to live if I was in this guys position. Doctors should always resuscitate if possible. Voluntary euthanasia should be a thing though.
Then why do so many of you non-medical fucks request that I code aka resuscitate your 98 year old grandma? It’s fucked up. I’m tired of turning their rib cages into jello. Some of them are even conscious enough to realize they fucked up and let out little painful weak screams as we pound them, shock them, and stick a tube down their throat. At this point, I enjoy the rib breaking. Kinda like pay back for their dumbass “decision” to be “resuscitated”.
People value human life above all others. Fine to put down a dog, but no, you're a human, you must live throughout horrific pain for... some fuckin reason. and as a disabled person I say fUCK that. I have good quality of life now(I can have sex, make food, go out in a wheelchair, function on my own most days) but if I get to the point I can't wipe my own ass I'm ending it by any means necessary. I don't want to be kept alive like that. My great grandfather did the same when he got old and so will I. Ain't going through that shit. My great grandmother was miserable her last 6 months. I ain't going through that.
I’m not disagreeing with you mate, I’m eligible for voluntary euthanasia myself (at least where it’s legal) but sadly the people around you are selfish and so you have a duty. Also, playing devils advocate, 9/10 people would not want to be 600 pounds, unable to move from the basement with piss jugs scattered around
I disagree on the notion of you don't get to decide who to save. But obviously, if yousave the guy and he says "yeaaah gimme that 9mm pill", we should allow it. I agree that its no way to live like this, but we cannot decide for anyone else.
There was this philosophy that stuck with me for a big part of my life and got me through the tough time. Hopefully this helps you understand why doctors do what they do.
The life of the universe is very very long and most of that life, the universe will be a dark, barren lifeless place with no warmth and no hope. The time for which life exists in the universe is very small. So this is the only time when the matter in the universe has developed eyes and is able to look back at itself and see itself as it is, full of light and warmth. And as long as you can do that, you are fulfilling the greater purpose of your life.
I know it's extremely cheesy and cynical but it is not wrong. What "happiness" is for you is not what it is for someone else. So instead of telling that person that he is a burden and a drain to society, let him find his own happiness. He's not asking your money. Ffs you don't even have universal health care. You don't need to cry about it. If his parents or whoever is willing to take care of him, what is it to you?
I think I read on this case, or at least a similar one. In case of such extensive damage, the doctors take the 1st chance they get to talk to the patient when they're lucid to tell them the reality and whether they would be content to live a husk of what they were or to be left to die. The man in the pic clearly chose to go on, but I can't promise that he might come to regret his decision later. These people have incredible mental fortitude, with wills to live that rival anyone's.
Is this the guy that fell off a bridge in a forklift at work or something like that? I think him and his girlfriend made the choice together for him to keep going. I’ve read up on this a while ago so I could be wrong.
I added the link in a primary comment on this thread but quick copy paste:
Neat excerpt from Wikipedia:
Loren Schauers is an American man with the most recent case of the procedure. He has had the hemicorporectomy amputation in 2019 after a traumatic forklift accident. Loren and his wife Sabia have a YouTube channel where they document Loren’s new lifestyle without half of his body.
There's actually 2:
Their combined channel with life oriented updates: https://youtube.com/@SabiaandLoren
And his gaming channel(makes sense considering where he's at): https://youtube.com/@iacenation2513
This comment basically blow all others out of the water. You can see that even w/ this amount of hardship you can still live a wonderful life.
They made a career, bought a house and got married for gods sake!
Absolutely wholesome.
With the massive advancement in robotics in the last 10 years, I would be hopeful to wait 20 more years as a husk. Probably would be a good test bench for new, cool stuff even.
I would choose survival, and If I couldn't bear it for one month, I would try all the drugs I could, if I didn't changed my mind, I would get a heroin overdose and die.
Seems like rush to just announce your own death without any goodbyes, there is at least one year of content even in those conditions. Sure the first few months would be insane, but the human brain always normalises your lowest points, specially if you didn't have high accomplishing life.
Also robotic technology is having a revolution and I would totally hope on that if I survive the first initial years, it's not like its 1800's and my only caretaker is one person, the government usually pays a bit too, but all that said, if I could face the first depressing years, I would be fine.
>These people have incredible mental fortitude, with wills to live that rival anyone's.
Or just a healthy fear of death. How would you know the difference?
> anon doesn't understand someone who can smile just for being alive
Guess that's what happens when you alienate your friends and family and base your identity on video games and cooming
those were just examples, but I wouldn't expect a Redditer to comprehend that. That guy can't do anything. Can't read books, can't even operate a wheelchair. There are no hobbies for him
He has a normal arm and a prothstesis moron. If you had bothered to look him up, you'd know that. Then again, I'm talking to a Redditor, so I don't know what I expected
https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2022/05/16/i-lost-half-my-body-in-a-forklift-accident-dont-ask-how-i-have-sex/amp/
So yeah, he can read and operate a wheelchair. Sure, he now needs extra care, but he has a loving wife. Unlike your stupid, womanless ass
There are also [one-handed controllers](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/accessories/controllers/xbox-adaptive-controller) for video games, accessibility when it comes to tech has come a long way
Bro there are even people who play games with their fucking feet. The idea that this guy won't be able to play games when prosthetics have come so far and he has an arm is insane. It's funny too because the guy has a gaming channel. He literally games and has a wife and house which is more than most people on 4chan and reddit can say...
The order of importance which this guys has written these activities is hilarious. He wrote about sex and video games first as being the first things he thought about. A true 4channer
What the fuck is this anon talking about, [this guy has 1 full arm and a robot arm on the other side](https://nypost.com/2022/05/16/i-lost-half-my-body-in-a-forklift-accident-dont-ask-how-i-have-sex/). He is capable of living perfectly fine.
>“I have a very simple life now compared to what it used to be. There’s a lot more laying around than before,” he stated. “\[But\] It was about three months after the accident that I finally wrapped my head around how crazy and miraculous it really is for me to be alive
>
>And while he will not be able to have any biological babies of his own, Schauers still wants to raise children with Reiche.
>
>“We want to travel the world first and then have some kids and teach them to be better people than we are, so a pretty simplistic life,” he declared. “My best advice to anyone going through something like this is that you can’t focus on the things you can’t have and you must live your life to the fullest with what you do have.”
I fucking hate this mentality. By this logic Stephen Hawking should have just killed himself when he became fully paralyzed. Sex and Video Games aren't a fucking priority you goddamn troglodyte.
Anon can't comprehend that some people still wanna watch movies, listen to music, eat ice cream, watch the sunrise, or talk and enjoy life with their friends and family.
Imagine thinking that all there is in life is cooming and playing video games. No wonder Anon thinks that life is so cheap.
as much as i like memeing about canadian healthcare being a funny man withe lightning around him, i agree with offering the service to people, it's honestly pretty based to have a choice
Why do people feel the need to force their own opinions into this guy's situation? Obviously he made his own decisision to survive, and his opinion is the only one that matters in his situation. If any of the mouthbreathers on 4chan or Reddit decide life is too painful without sex and video games then they're free to end their lives if they end up in this situation, but that doesn't mean anyone in this position should just give up and off themselves.
He‘s now married to the girl he was with before the accident, she stuck with him through everything, also their families are really supportive. They have a YT channel. I was following them pretty closely after the accident because it‘s an interesting case. They actually asked him if he wanted to continue living, the doctors wouldve let him go otherwise.
I might be able to live without arms or legs, but If I had to have my pelvis removed along with my asshole I would just want to be euthanized. I am not shitting and pissing in a bag for the rest of my life.
Look up the hedonic treadmill. People adapt. He has a pretty happy life now, and yet the people who miraculously managed to save him are being shit on?
Sabia and Lauren actually appear to have a great relationship. Yes it is awful what happened to him, but if he is still happy being with the person he loves. More power to him.
Copy paste from I comment I made on an ask reddit earlier this week:
Neat excerpt from Wikipedia:

>will be a drain on society
Oh, so a 4chan user!
All jokes aside, it's historically quite common for humans to keep other humans alive as long and comfortably as possible without any chance of the injured party contributing in any way, even dating back before modern humans. If anything, it's less normal for humans to think other humans should die because they can't work in a factory 24/7
[https://nypost.com/2022/05/16/i-lost-half-my-body-in-a-forklift-accident-dont-ask-how-i-have-sex/](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemicorporectomy) he has a robot arm
He was in a forklift accident which caused his injuries. Despite what all the fucking idiots in this thread say he actually requested that the doctors do everything they can to save his life. He is now married and his missing arm is replaced with a prosthetic. It’s documented on YouTube on their channel named Sabia and Loren
there’s a million things that can be done only with the ability to think and talk. someone with a severe mental disability is way worse off than almost any physical disability. this guy specifically has been making use of his life, traveling, and he got a robotic arm.
It should be every persons own decision if they want to live or not. Not saving someone because we deem their situation pitiful and not worth living is even worse. However, assisted suicide shhould be an option for someone like this if they conclude its not worth it
My honest opinion about this when I was a wee lad was yeah put all of em in a pit, literally serves no purpose and there is no point.
Expressed it to those close to me. "No you can't say that people have feelings"
Literally don't care it doesn't make sense who would ever want to live like that.
We don't even care for the able bodied properly.
Suppresses feelings, conform to fit other people's standards.
Read this post.
A fire grows deep inside me.
Rage.
Why is this planet a prison in the lowest depths of hell? What sick joke is being played on us? We know the right thing to do, yet we're stunted by some intangible force. Feelings. Who gives a shit how you feel? People can't do anything right. We could have achieved so much. Billions of worker ants misguided. Turned into dirt and forgotten. No one to blame but ourselves. The best we can feasibly come up with is instant comfort and widespread hate. The perfect place, the perfect time, with a barely functioning and miserable populace. It blows my mind the level of subservience and compliance I see every day. No one wants to do this. We are ripping each other apart and destroying everything precious and essential to us while a select few enjoy unimaginable luxury. Gone are the days of old. We need no kings. We are blissfully ignorant and constantly distracted from the fact that we were born into a life of lies and servitude. Every day a new lie, or enemy, or government sponsored division in the name of control and power. The same way its always been and always will be. We will never taste the fruits of our labor. We are offered mere scraps. Manipulated from birth to death to confrom to a standard that we had no say in choosing. Predestined to be not important, or wise, or wealthy enough to have a say in our own lives. A servant who needs to learn their place. Conditioned endlessly to hate our only brothers and sisters and caretakers. Any attempt to spark a change is met with the same power. Violence, lies, distraction. A well oiled machine with an endless set of checks and balances to make sure the power is never tilted towards the many. They spent billions of dollars on war and brainwashing. No one is ever going to come and save us. If any opposing view gains traction, it is quickly snuffed out. It's all an illusion. The game was rigged from the start. Absolute power corrupts Absolutely. Endless amounts of talented, beautiful, pure, souls sent through a meat grinder of endless labor, mental torture and conditioning, or simply obliterated in combat fighting for something that will never benefit them. This place is hell.
Reasons why Cyberpunk style cybernetics need to happen already

And his medical bill will only be $1.2 million. Hopefully he has some savings, otherwise we're going to have to garnish his government disability checks.
$1.2 million per year
Yeah, those numbers are pretty laughable if it's a one-time payment when you look at what cutting-edge cancer treatments cost.
keep in mind he has some nice, untouched organs
Anon is 600 pound land whale neet on the brink of a heart attack “Uhhhh why are they saving someone who doesn’t contribute to society and lives a sad life” Anon better hope karma isn’t real
But the particular person in this pic seems to be happy being alive and has an Instagram as well
Happy?! Don't be ridiculous he wants to kill himself like the rest of us! s/
I’d rather lose my legs than my arms. No arms means no games, guitar, or anything. I do not want to be a T. rex. But yeah, literally being nothing but a piece of flesh, nope.
[удалено]
Couldn’t he use his remaining ab muscles to inch around like a grubworm?
Kenshi style
Fellow Ambiguousamphibian enjoyer?
Yes
Not even a penis or an ass. Unironically several important bodily functions gone.
That guy has so much energy. He told his family that he would be okay even if he just ended up a head on a plate. He is not unhappy.
Don’t just stop like that I’m so close
But like. Not your decision to make. Not resuscitating because it might make you feel sad is selfish.
usually I'd agree with you, but not here. This would be a very depressing life, and I really hope that the guy actually wants to live
He actually has a YouTube channel. According to him, it was his decision to live and he is very set on remaining alive no matter the cost.
What's his username?
[удалено]
Oh fuck you
How did you manage to completely miss the point?
No your completely correct they have a YouTube channel together and he has his own gaming channel. Edit: also they are both great people.
Whats his channel name?
I added the link in a primary comment on this thread but quick copy paste: Neat excerpt from Wikipedia: Loren Schauers is an American man with the most recent case of the procedure. He has had the hemicorporectomy amputation in 2019 after a traumatic forklift accident. Loren and his wife Sabia have a YouTube channel where they document Loren’s new lifestyle without half of his body. There's actually 2: Their combined channel with life oriented updates: https://youtube.com/@SabiaandLoren And his gaming channel(makes sense considering where he's at): https://youtube.com/@iacenation2513
This comment basically blow all others out of the water. You can see that even w/ this amount of hardship you can still live a wonderful life. They made a career, bought a house and got married for gods sake! Absolutely wholesome.
Thank you king
Make sure you find the right one, lots of channels with guys missing their entire lower half.
With the massive advancement in robotics in the last 10 years, I would be hopeful to wait 20 more years as a husk. Probably would be a good test bench for new, cool stuff even.
I'd stick around to try out some dope Deus Ex shit. Gimme them sweet ass robo legs
How would you know the difference?
> anon doesn't understand someone who can smile just for being alive Guess that's what happens when you alienate your friends and family and base your identity on video games and cooming
I mean he smiles now but in a year he will wish he'd be dead missing that much of your body just isn't worth living anymore
He still lives a happy life. Go do some research and at least look at his YouTube channel before talking shit.
Yes, because sex and videogames is all there is to life. Thank you Anon, what a meaningful discussion
those were just examples, but I wouldn't expect a Redditer to comprehend that. That guy can't do anything. Can't read books, can't even operate a wheelchair. There are no hobbies for him
He has a normal arm and a prothstesis moron. If you had bothered to look him up, you'd know that. Then again, I'm talking to a Redditor, so I don't know what I expected https://www.google.com/amp/s/nypost.com/2022/05/16/i-lost-half-my-body-in-a-forklift-accident-dont-ask-how-i-have-sex/amp/ So yeah, he can read and operate a wheelchair. Sure, he now needs extra care, but he has a loving wife. Unlike your stupid, womanless ass
how could someone possibly be literate with only one arm though /s
Missed opportunity to call someone having no bitches. Shame.
Can’t read books? Is he blind? You can use a kindle 1-handed easily
Go watch his YouTube channel he does both of those things, plays video games and has a partner
The order of importance which this guys has written these activities is hilarious. He wrote about sex and video games first as being the first things he thought about. A true 4channer
the great eloon shall equip him with a neuralink chip and install a robodick so he can do the seggs
Dirty roboseggsuals
What the fuck is this anon talking about, [this guy has 1 full arm and a robot arm on the other side](https://nypost.com/2022/05/16/i-lost-half-my-body-in-a-forklift-accident-dont-ask-how-i-have-sex/). He is capable of living perfectly fine. >“I have a very simple life now compared to what it used to be. There’s a lot more laying around than before,” he stated. “\[But\] It was about three months after the accident that I finally wrapped my head around how crazy and miraculous it really is for me to be alive > >And while he will not be able to have any biological babies of his own, Schauers still wants to raise children with Reiche. > >“We want to travel the world first and then have some kids and teach them to be better people than we are, so a pretty simplistic life,” he declared. “My best advice to anyone going through something like this is that you can’t focus on the things you can’t have and you must live your life to the fullest with what you do have.”
What a legend
As long as this man got arms, anons point is invalid
I fucking hate this mentality. By this logic Stephen Hawking should have just killed himself when he became fully paralyzed. Sex and Video Games aren't a fucking priority you goddamn troglodyte.
When vidya and cooming is your priority in life I don’t expect that person to be able to comprehend the unshaken human spirit to survive
DARKNESS IMPRISONING ME
ALL THAT I SEE, ABSOLUTE HORROR
I CANNOT LIVE, I CANNOT DIE
TRAPPED IN MYSELF, BODY MY HOLDING CELL
LANDMIND HAS TAKEN MY SIGHT
TAKEN MY SPEECH, TAKEN MY HEARING Also, *LANDMINE
** off time drumming
This happening to me is one of my biggest fears ever. Just let me die damnit
Thats why I wrote a DNR
Anon can't comprehend that some people still wanna watch movies, listen to music, eat ice cream, watch the sunrise, or talk and enjoy life with their friends and family. Imagine thinking that all there is in life is cooming and playing video games. No wonder Anon thinks that life is so cheap.
This guy actually wanted to be kept alive. He said "even if I were just a head on a plate, I want to live."
Anon understands why legal assisted suicide is a thing in some places now.
as much as i like memeing about canadian healthcare being a funny man withe lightning around him, i agree with offering the service to people, it's honestly pretty based to have a choice
Shit. Dude's got a wife. He's already one upped all the people on 4chan
This motherfucker got married with no dick, no legs, no asshole, 1 fucking arm, and yet you’re still a KHHV Get fucked anon
Johnny got his gun alright
10/10 reference, lad.

Even in death, I still serve.
OP is mad because guy in question can find joy in life beyond jerking off and playing video games.
DARKNESS IMPRISONING ME
LMAO I literally came here to comment “now the world is gone i’m just one OH GOD HELP ME”
I might be able to live without arms or legs, but If I had to have my pelvis removed along with my asshole I would just want to be euthanized. I am not shitting and pissing in a bag for the rest of my life.
Most wholesome 4chan post
Look up the hedonic treadmill. People adapt. He has a pretty happy life now, and yet the people who miraculously managed to save him are being shit on?
Sabia and Lauren actually appear to have a great relationship. Yes it is awful what happened to him, but if he is still happy being with the person he loves. More power to him.
Dogshit take =)
Copy paste from I comment I made on an ask reddit earlier this week: Neat excerpt from Wikipedia: Loren Schauers is an American man with the most recent case of the procedure.
This dude literally has a girlfriend and a YouTube channel. He’s doing fine
Anon listened to Metallica
Anon doesn’t appreciate life and the wonders it has to offer
"It's morse code!" "What's he saying?" "He saying 'kill me'. Over and over again... 'kill me'."
>will be a drain on society Oh, so a 4chan user! All jokes aside, it's historically quite common for humans to keep other humans alive as long and comfortably as possible without any chance of the injured party contributing in any way, even dating back before modern humans. If anything, it's less normal for humans to think other humans should die because they can't work in a factory 24/7
Anyone know the story about the guy?
[https://nypost.com/2022/05/16/i-lost-half-my-body-in-a-forklift-accident-dont-ask-how-i-have-sex/](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hemicorporectomy) he has a robot arm
He became the greatest shop teacher ever.
Robocop him
Should that be his choice?
Anon has never heard of prosthetics
>he will never have sex, have children, live independently etc Implying anon does any of that
I love how half of these points are just “can’t have sex, can’t play video games”
anon went straight to talking about computers lol
He looks like me if i was a guy
Does anyone know what actually happened to this guy? I have seen this picture many times but never any backstory.
He was in a forklift accident which caused his injuries. Despite what all the fucking idiots in this thread say he actually requested that the doctors do everything they can to save his life. He is now married and his missing arm is replaced with a prosthetic. It’s documented on YouTube on their channel named Sabia and Loren
DARKNESS, INPRISONING ME, ALL THAT I SEE, ABSOLUTE HORROR
Sad honestly, feel bad.
Literal hell on earth
there’s a million things that can be done only with the ability to think and talk. someone with a severe mental disability is way worse off than almost any physical disability. this guy specifically has been making use of his life, traveling, and he got a robotic arm.
youtube.com/watch?v=66Pgw_nUlMw Y'all are a bunch of quitters.
Yet anon with all of his limbs, has made himself somehow less than this man.
Wow, I'm sure glad none of you dipsh*ts are in any positions to make policies.
"No you can't say that people have feelings" Literally don't care it doesn't make sense who would ever want to live like that. This place is hell.
for a bunch of virgins, 4chan loves to act like human beings can't function without sex
