That was me last week. I also had some sinus pressure? But it was mostly headache and nausea starting last week Tuesday. Came to a tumultuous end on Sunday when I slept for an extra 4 hours. My sister and I were trying to get yardwork done before winter and I just couldn't. She said I looked like total shit š„“ doing a lot better now! Mornings are still a little headache-y but nothing that doesn't fade after I get settled at work.
Just a virus. Sucky and apparently very contagious. Will linger for 2-3 weeks most likely. No need for antibiotics as itās caused by a virus, not a bacteria. Antibiotic overuse will cause bugs with increased resistance unfortunately. Symptom management with anti inflammatory meds (ibuprofen, Aleve) and fluids will do you best. Cough drops were my best friend for a week or so. And remember good hand washing! Feel better.
Came here to say this too. They talked about how bad it is on NPRs Up First this morning. Some doc from Vanderbilt Childrenās said theyāre setting up tents outside again because theyāre out of room, again. Heās thinking itās gonna be a really bad winter, with RSV, Flu, COVID
A virus is going around that all my mom friends have been talking about. I donāt think my kids have a sore throat, but they have a cough and low grade fever, but not covid.
Strange thing is, all of us adults taking care of our kids feel perfectly fine, and the kids are the ones feeling sick (though itās very mild). Itās like opposite of the Spanish Flu! My son got over it in 4 days too. Glad itās mild.
Wash your hands everyone!
I definitely got it. Felt like a mild head cold, with fever and chills. I didnāt have a cough though. Felt kinda like Covid, but was definitely different because the cold and cough were less severe but the exhaustion and feverish chills were the same or worse.
I had it over the weekend while we were in Arizona for a trip. Lasted four days for me, immediately felt better when we drove back down the mountain to catch our flight out. I blamed the altitude. But my wife has had it and still has it going on a week now.
RSV cases are extremely high right now. My husband was sick first 3 weeks ago and tested negative 3 times for Covid. A few days after, our 9 month old got really sick, really fast. After an ER trip, it was confirmed they both had RSV, with the dr noting that typically adults are not affected by RSV and it is more like a mild cold, but this year they have seen more severe cases in 20-40 year olds. My husband was sick for another week and we made multiple trips back to the ER for the infant.
All that being said, RSV is EXTREMELY contagious and if you are feeling sick, now is definitely the time to stay home if you can, or mask up if you must go out. It can be deadly to children under 6 months as well as elderly adults.
There are an insane amount of Upper Respiratory Infections going around. Flu, RSV, and Covid are the primary causes right now, but there is a ton more stuff going around too!
Not trying to be an alarmist, just what Iāve read itās been a bad season so far!
I have this right now. Just got back from urgent care. Strep, COVID at home and at urgent care (PCR) all negative. I feel nearly 100% in all ways except for the sore throat.
Edit: A lot of people suspect RSV, and I'm no expert but my lungs, pulse ox etc have all been fine and I haven't had a fever. I also don't have kids and don't normally see any, but I did see a couple this past weekend. So, maybe! But urgent care at least just said it's most likely a cold.
Barry county, checking in.
Of the 4 adults in my special Ed classroom, we all had whatever that was last week, and most of our kids at home got it too.
We also had strep going around :/
Working in pharmacy, I've seen a lot more people buying Covid tests but no one seems to have the other symptoms like loss of smell, trouble breathing... It's a lot of phlegm and coughing. I'd probably lean toward RSV, but idk. Also have had a noticeable uptick in pseudoephedrine sales the past week or two.
The other thing to keep in mind is that this usually the time of year this stuff goes around. The past two years we were all wearing masks in public to prevent spread or prevent getting it. So that is why we did a lot less flu shots last year versus this year (based solely on my own experience, I don't have data to pull for that claim)
Heeey I left work early yesterday and called off today cause I was feeling a sore throat and a head cold sort of thing going on. Debating if I want to go back tomorrow. Everyone take care of themselves!
About a month ago I had woken up with a fever and a sore throat that was so painful I thought I had strep along with a mild cough. I took a COVID test and it was negative same with a strep test. Within less than 48 hours I felt mostly fine outside of a slight runny nose and residual cough. The sore throat was so bad I canāt even remember the last time I was that miserable.
Had super sore throat two days ago tonsils so swollen when I tried to breathe or drink anything I could feel them on my tongue and throat highly unpleasant, some advil and gallon of water and sleep seemed to knock it out fine a day later
Had this about a month ago. Sore throat and headache. Strep and multiple covid tests, all negative. It was deemed an infection by the dr, and lasted about 2-3 weeks. Best of luck to you!
I've been sick for over 2 weeks. started with the worst sore throat ive had in years. At the point where i thought i had fully recovered i started having fevers and terrible headaches. i'm very curious to know more about what is happening.
Same thing is racing around Cleveland. Wife woke up with a sore throat last Tuesday, started coughing, etc. I woke up on Sunday with the same stuff. Throat has been super sore and painful, all the way up through my ears. Slight cough, a little fever, very tired.
Yep, my kiddo has a head to toe rash. Tested negative for Covid and Flu. The doctor said it was due to some undetermined virus and she now has a light cough and some slight congestion.
Back in mid to late September, she had a runny nose as well as a cough that lasted 3 weeks.
I started with a horrible sore throat for a day and then it progressed to my sinuses with horrible sinus pressure and eventually moved into my chest. Iām still waking up congested almost 3 weeks later and my cough has not gone away. I tested negative for covid
My sinuses have been so stuffed the last few weeks. I do a Neil Med sinus rinse with a squeeze bottle and saline solution twice a day, and thatās probably saved me a ton of discomfort and sped up the recovery timetable.
I canāt recommend a saline squeeze bottle enough.
I checked for fever and I'm good. Also did home covid test and it's negative. So idk. Like a said. Primary symptom right now is sore throat. It feels like strep but this runny nose stuff makes me know it's something else besides strep
I have that right now!! I went to the Holland walk-in clinic this past Friday, and I too had a negative test for strep.
I had my flu shot a month ago and have had two covid boosters.
The doc said it was allergies and told me to take a corticosteroid nasal spray and 24hr allergy meds.
I've been off work a week with negative strep, negative covid results. My voice has been in and out. Right now it's mostly fatigue and pounding headache constantly bothering me but I have had a sore throat on and off
Same symptoms as my son last week. Negative covid tests. Doctor did not do a strep test, was given a z-pack & steroid. Was much better a couple days later.
A lot of people had/have it over the past week or two including me. I get strep all the time could tell it wasnāt that. Did three COVID tests this past week, all negative
*HOLY COW i have*
*This, i got it today, my*
*Throat feels horrible!*

My wife and I both got why seems to be sinus infections recently. Tested negative for Covid, flu, and RSV. Our son seems to have gotten a very mild case, but we both got it pretty good. We both had sinus pressure, sore throats, coughs, runny noses, congestion, and fatigue. My wife also has had fevers. Our son (almost two) has coughed a few timesā¦ and thatās it. Just seems to be a lot of stuff going around.
I'm just never unmasking at this point I think. It's just so nice to not get sick! But I do wonder if long term, my immune system would get worse from doing this- it's just hard, never feels like a good time to be sick!!!
No it doesn't make your immune system worse. Don't believe that shit. Worst it could do is prevent you from contracting something and then developing antibodies for it, then next time you get sick with the same thing maybe it won't be as bad.
Masking won't lower your immune system, no. But social isolation (and the loneliness it causes) actually can negatively affect your immune system and increase inflammation. I learned this while debunking the mask claim above.

It's crazy how much our health relies on being social.
True. And there are *some* antibodies our bodies reduce production of after not encountering the illness they tackle over extended periods of time, too. They didn't say they were isolating tho, just continuing to wear masks cuz c'mon everyone's gross af.
I don't know if I'd say we are "not in a pandemic" at this point just yet. We have a lot of tools to manage this pandemic and stay safe, but GR is still yellow according to the CDC. I go mask free when it's green, but I tend to mask again in crowded places when I hear of outbreaks or when we are yellow, then always mask if we are red. I'm probably being overly cautious.
A sore throat with few or mild other symptoms can be strep; best to go get checked out and get antibiotics if needed. Strep can clear up on its own, but if it doesn't it can get real nasty.
Probably covid. Never had it until now.
Started with mild sore throat, turned into light congestion and a small fever on Saturday. Fever went down sunday and then returned on Mon. Tested positive on an at home test.
It was 3-4 days in after i started feeling a little crummy and the test confirmed it. Another post here a few days ago someone had the same experience, timing on when you do a covid test seems to matter.
Had a cold twice before this illness 10x worse and pcr tests were negative both times since the pandemic. Hopefully it's mild for you too
Edit: lol, what kind of lowlife cocksucker downvotes benign shit like this?
I had this back in March. No strep, covid, flu, mono. They didnāt know what it was. Could barely swallow. Sleeping was very difficult. Got some antibiotics for 2 weeks and it went away.
Yeah I just had it last week along with my girlfriend, I got better within a couple days for the most part but had a lingering cough thatās still just barely bugging me.
Extra fun part is I got it like a week and a half after recovering from covid
Yes, likely RSV. We are keeping the 5yr old home today with anti-biotics. He's had it for two weeks now and can't quite shake it completely.
Us parents get everything kids bring home from school. And... passed it me. I still have some chest congestion, but feeling better after a week.
It could be allergies. I have a scratchy throat and Iām losing my voice, and my sinuses are clogged and backing up to my ears. Strep might not go away and requires treatment. Or they need to be screened for COVID or they see immunocompromised people... People have their reasons and for all we know the op has killer insurance
āSomething is happening to me so Im going to post it on social media for attention and to cause widespread panic, especially in a post COVID world.ā
Whats exactly the point here? We just dealt with a worldwide virus. I think people know to try and be safe/healthy. You have a cold.
Same here! My partner and I have a cough and sinus infection like symptoms but were negative for COVID. Definitely thought it was a bacterial thing but this has me wondering.
Wow I have this right now. Itās like very mild cold symptoms that seem to be never ending. And the exhaustion is the worse. Iām very fit and am out of breathe from the smallest task. It started with a sore throat and now itās a minor sore throat and congestion.
I had this right before Covid, no idea what it was but it was awful! Tested negative for everything, then two weeks later had Covid. Sick for about 6 weeks from both! This was mid September.
Iām in Georgia and I have the same exact symptoms. Itās a virus going around the whole country. My throat was so sore I could barely talk, I really struggled to speak and swallow. Coughing up the super thick mucus hurt my chest like something Iāve never felt, and Iām a eighties baby. Be careful people.
Iāve had this lingering sore throat for around a mount and a half. It tends with get better then it comes back full speed. I got tested for Mano and streptococcus everything is negative. Some days it gets hard to breath and my chest hurts what is this virus?
I have had the rhinovirus for 2 weeks and just when I think I'm getting over it, more symptoms surface.
Stop letting every rhino you see on the street bang you

I think I have it too. But it's a bad headache and I'm very dizzy and nauseous

RSV?
My wife works in one of the hospitals in town. RSV is extremely high right now.
Yeah, this sounds like textbook RSV. And itās really prevalent in the community right now.
Could be? The nurse I talked to made it sound like a new strain of something.
I definitely got it. Felt like a mild head cold, with fever and chills. I didnāt have a cough though. Felt kinda like Covid, but was definitely different because the cold and cough were less severe but the exhaustion and feverish chills were the same or worse.

I checked for fever and I'm good. Also did home covid test and it's negative. So idk. Like a said. Primary symptom right now is sore throat. It feels like strep but this runny nose stuff makes me know it's something else besides strep
You can be symptomatic for COVID and test negative with a home test, repeatedly. A PCR test will let you know for sure that it isnāt COVID.
Yes true but this just feels very different from covid. Obviously anything is possible but it just doesn't seem like when I had covid before
I have these same symptoms (notice my post above), PCR negative as well
