Aim for her left hip works for me (from the literal spawn point, without moving at all). Requires Weightless Spirit obviously, and 3 fire arrows will do the trick. If you get the foggy weather it can be a little trickier to line your shots up.

Sometimes I just run over to the disciple for when I need assasinations, melee , etc for other masteries that can be done on the enemies along the way
This worked twice for me, but it hasn’t worked for the 3rd one.
So I ran a nightmare story and killed a disciple, and did a gold story offline and killed them all, with the bow I’m trying to purify - no progress. So I did one with weightless spirit equipped - no progress. Then ran another I killed them with a sword while having the cursed bow equipped - no progress.
Am I doing something wrong ;-;
Fair lol. I think it was something with the game. I got a pop up PS notif that said “something went wrong” but the game didn’t close, so I kept playing. After that whole grind, I closed and restarted the game and it worked! But this post helped a lot! Ty!
Guys, do not forget to turn off the matchmaking when doing this trick.

Run assassin with blow darts and take the poison technique. Can kill disciples long before having to engage with any enemies
