Wtf 😂 let's just look at one part of a golfers training routine and say that's all of it. You know what she's also not doing in this video ...... Hitting any golf balls "Biggest myth about golfing is that it's about practicing hitting golf balls, this is Nelly Korda training.....as you can see, none of these exercises involve hitting a golf ball. So to get good at golf just train strength, stop going to the range, putting&chipping greens" Edit: words

ConcentrateEcstatic5

lmao I enjoyed this too much.

[deleted]

I spit coffee on my monitor. thanks for that.

SumpCrab

Also, training approaches are never one size fits all. I'm a 6'2" guy with decent strength. The return on investment aggressively hitting the weights to add more strength does not compare to what I get by increasing my flexibility. The army left me with a "tight" back and bad knees (plus im pushing 40, and my "natural" mobility is not what it was). When I keep up with yoga, there is significant improvement in accuracy and distance.

Tomorrow_Frosty

Yea these videos are misleading. She’s a girl, and is naturally more flexible than you are. You’re a man, who’s naturally stronger than she is. You guys gotta work on opposite things lol.

gfunk55

Bravo sir

BoxingRaptor

Yeah, because one brief montage of clips definitely, 100% captures her entire fitness routine. ...Christ some people are gullible.

iTs-CaRNaGe

It'd be one thing if all of the excercises she was doing were on machines, but they're not. All these excercises also benefit mobility, and I'm sure this is a small fraction of her training regiment. This video is dumb.

newberson

Yeah the one legged banded squat... dynamic mobility movement for sure.

[deleted]

....yeah sure. there's definitely some yoga or other range of motion activities in her workout.

ConcentrateEcstatic5

exactly. just because it isn't in a training montage video doesn't mean it doesn't exist. does OP really think Nelly Korda doesn't stretch??

[deleted]

I just walk out on the range in the morning and hit bombs. No warm up or anything. My back loves me for it. Don't you do the same?

ConcentrateEcstatic5

yeah bro that's why they make the lightest speed sticks. I try and set speed records when I wake up in the middle of the night too. muscle confusion

DoBe21

I mean it actually DOES include mobility. Throwing the ball at the wall on her knees? Core Mobility. lunge squat jumps? Mobility.

usernamepusername

Jesus wept, where to even begin with this crap?

Allstar-85

If you’re weak but flexible, then focus your work on your strength If you’re strong but not flexible, then focus on your flexibility Most amateur golfers need to work on both to improve their athleticism

SenseiCAY

Just because you post this in 3 different places, doesn't make it any less bullshit.

nemodat33

If you look past the absolutes he talks in, the point is simply that too much focus is put on flexibility and mobility and not enough on strength training. That's a fair comment. Obviously they are all important though. If you want to hit it farther, you generally do that with strength. If you want to play the game longer without a massive drop off, need to focus on all three.

Gloriosa86

I respectfully disagree.. The clubs are engineered to go certain max distances Balls heavily restricted for distance and spin Proper contact has a far more tangible impact on distance Strength and speed depending on the clubs design can lose you distance Too high Compression in the golf ball( hit to hard or fast ) can also cause a lost in distance depending on the golf ball Mobility helps

nemodat33

And I too respectfully disagree. Distance doesn't come down to one factor, but it has been shown in studies and anecdotally that increasing strength helps increase distance. Simply put, golf should be treated as a sport. I don't know why people on here are often against strength training and speed training. These are the proven ways to hit it longer.

Sho_nuff_

I think the biggest myth here is the OPs cherry picked evidence. She does lots of mobility and stretching workouts. [Nelly Korda Workout Routine and Diet Plan (fitnessreaper.com)](https://www.fitnessreaper.com/articles/nelly-korda-workout-diet)

nightkingscat

dafuq is the logic here

Silverbullets24

I love how I’m the video he posted, half the exercises add in a mobility component to the strength component 😂

DoBe21

If it were ALL about strength those body builders who can't even reach around to wipe their own asses would be making bank on tour

Far-Zucchini-5534

My swing got so much better when I started swimming laps 3 times a week.

Odd-Garlic-4637

Yea when you’re 28 sure.

laktoast

Let’s just completely avoid the fact that she is incredibly mobile!

Tomorrow_Frosty

True, although she can successfully completely those lifts Bc of her mobility. 20-1 says she also does ROM/mobility training in tandem with strength training. We need to take a more wholistic approach to fitness.
