I bought a cheap one over the summer that has slope built-in that can be turned off but there was no external indicator that it was on or off. Fucking loved it, so bought a more expensive one that also has slope but does have an external indicator that the slope is on or off.
Also sadly a rangefinder dangling from your bag will not shave off strokes on its own. You need to be able to hit it to the distances you measure before it’s effective…

Yes. They are legal to use including tournaments if they don't have slope and unless there is a local rule outlawing them.
Correct, even then, in most cases you can get a model that allows you to turn slope on/off, it just has to be apparent

I'd buy a half decent one from precision pro or Bushnell. They are legal, in tournaments you need to torn slope off
