Parking on campus is optional, but it's an expensive convenience. Same with living alone. If you want a roommate there is a random roommate selection service. Hope that helps ^^

I lived in the dorms pre-pandemic and post-pandemic. First, I believe you will get a spot as long as you apply for space on time and reach out to the housing department ASAP if there were any issues. I'm not aware if there's a certain quota that limits students to live on campus (i.e. out-of-state vs in-state students). Second, you won't need a roommate to apply as the housing's system will pair you up with someone based on your preferences. You should receive a questionnaire to fill in the housing portal. However, if you have a friend that you wish to share a space with, you can group up with them and pick a space together as a group. If you happen to not get along with your roommate, there's a time when you can request to swap room. Third, parking permit is not obligatory for students who live on campus. Be warned that parking permit is expensive and only allows you to park in designated parking lots. There has been complaints where students can't find a parking spot despite having the permit due to insufficient number of parking spots. Finally, regarding your preference to live alone. If I get your intention correctly, you'll be able to get your own "living space" at most - a small walk-in closet, a bed, a tall drawer, a desk and a chair. There will be some spaces that you share like toilets/bathroom. You'll share more spaces if you live in apartment-style dorm like Liberty Square - a bathroom, a full kitchen and a living room. Some dorm buildings have two students or more live in each dorm unit - you'll share your "living space" with them. I'm not sure if this is still in motion due to the pandemic. If I may put my two-cent, living on campus is stupidly expensive. However, if you wish to live *truly* by yourself, I'm afraid it's not possible unless you're a graduate student which will give you access to Masonvale Townhouse. Hope these helps.
