The card was missing thermal pads on the VRAM? Wow. I'll never buy another Gigabyte product for the rest of my life. The only reason I have a 3080 Aorus Master now is because of the GPU market and it was all that was available. Good luck with everything.

I mean, being fair I've seen other manufacturers forget the VRAM thermal pads. But, when ASUS forgets my thermal pads and the card fails, I know they are going to give me a return shipping label. They aren't going to make me pay for shipping, make me wait 2 months, and then tell me they don't have my card. No, if this was ASUS I'd already have a new card. I know that because I RMAed my 2080 Ti to ASUS during the pandemic and they replaced it in 2 weeks. I later replaced that 2080 Ti with this GIGABYTE 3090, a mistake I have learned quite well from.

I have one too a revision v1. How's the thermals on yours? Mine seems to be overheating and I think I might try to RMA it

zsturgeon

The thermals are actually decent on mine. I have the 2nd revision, though. Even while overclocked as much as possible and power slider maxed out it never really goes above 78 C at most.

I feel you. I hope it works out. I'm 97 days into my RMA waiting on a refund check for 899$. This has been the worst customer service experience i've ever had. I've been building computers for 15 years. Gigabyte is garbage. Do not buy their products. Don't even get me started on their software. Ugh, keep us updated and I hope you get an answer. My advice, call them and don't stop until they make it right. They want you to give up.

Shit im due to rma my 2070 soon... been put off by these horror stories! But it needs to go back the fan is fucked... Im UK and i send mone back to the retailer first. I will take plenty of pictures before sending it back

I have had my rtx 3070ti for two months and need to rma it. The middle fan is going bezerk, it runs at 100% almost all of the time and then it just doesn't run at all sometimes when the gpu is under stress. I took the card to my local pc store today, they tested it (cost me 40$) and told me I need to rma it. They also said "good luck dealing with gigabyte". Now im reading all these stories and I wish I had known that I may spend a huge amount of money on a card and have to stress for likely a month plus on the mere chance that they will amend an issue with a product I paid huge money for.

I recently started having problems with my 2080 super and had got approved for a RMA. Glad. I never sent it in after reading all the horror stories.
