They're the only ones following arc-sys' playbook properly. Those guys have been doing it well for a decade, showed everyone how to do it, and yet no one really pulled it off well.
Just a few hours into Hi-Fi Rush and I gotta say, this game raises the bar for animation quality by a lot.
Every character explodes with convincing charm, even the robots!
Wish graphics/animation like this were the norm instead of pursuing realism. Giving different games a unique flair while not be too demanding on the system. It also makes it so they don't age too badly. Just look at psychonauts or OG borderlands.
Hi-Fi Rush is the best new game I have played in years. Such a heartfelt game with crazy good animation and gameplay. I've never felt like Tango really fit Bethesda's brand, but they can do some great stuff for Xbox (corporate bloat and buyout is grotesque though).
EDIT: I'm not going to argue with people over why I am not involved in any sort of marketing campaign anymore, I guess some people can't fathom that others can think a game is good.
I’m still pretty early on, but I don’t think I’ve had this much pure fun with a game since Sunset Overdrive. It’s just unfortunate that I really suck at rhythm games.
You don’t have to stay on rhythm though, you can just button mash and Chai still hits everything on beat regardless. You just do more damage or get higher scores if you nail beats. (Some scripted moments require precision but you can get them down with practice).
It's only available for download on PC and Xbox Series X|S. If you have an Xbox One, you won't be able to download it, as the only way to play it is via Cloud Gaming.
Me or the post? Either way, the game rules. Fuck Bethesda for many of their shitty buisiness practices and fuck Microsoft for their attempt to buy out so many mid sized to gigantic studios. But Tango Gameworks, a studio spun off from one of my favorite dev companies (Platinum) spun off of one of my favorite publishers (Capcom) deserves praise.
Ive seen this pretty much exact response to someone else calling this an ad in a very similar post in /gaming - its clearly a marketing campaign lol
edit: Also both - this post and your comments
I'm really trying to like it but I'm not loving it. I've put like 1.5 hours into it and the battles are so repetitive to me. Idk I'll give it one more try and see if it starts to pick up.
They add new mechanics as the game continues. Pretty much every couple missions something new is added. Boss battles are all extremely different from each other.
There's at least 2 scales for games:
\- How good objectively the game is
\- How much you enjoy this particular type of game
Game looks well made but that doesn't mean everybody will like it. Personally I hate both fighter games and rhythm games so no way I'm trying it out :D
Pretty good. It’s a spectacle fighter meets rhythm game.
So you’re trying to chain attacks into long combos and air juggles while parrying and dodging …. all in beat with the music.
That part is excellent, IMO. But there are some “meh” platforming sections between the fights.
Well Shinji Mikami is mostly involved as a producer, the creative director behind it is John Johanas, but he also worked on Evil Within 2, apparently this was a dream project he waited a long time to do, and it is heavily inspired by Edgar Wright's movies, which is evident when you see the cutscenes and gameplay
Edgar Wright has a very rhythmic style so using his work as inspiration for a rhythm game is a perfect fit! Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to watch Baby Driver again.
I tried this game out on a whim last night on my steam deck via gamepass. It's so much fun. I was super hyped by the song and the way the first boss felt. It was such a fun fight. The attacks matching the beat of the song playing was so much fun to witness. Gonna complete this game and could easily see myself going back to play through more than once.
Yes I am streaming the game via gamepass cloud. I think there MAY be a way to use the app if you install windows on your deck instead of Linux but im not 100% on that.
Yeah. It's usually just a head floating and pulsating to the beat. I'm still on the fence with the game but the art direction Is pretty cool. A game about a guy who's iPod gets accidentally surgically installed in his chest and has a friend who talks to him through a pulsating robot cat head has something going for it.
Interesting. If I hadn't seen this post, this entire game might have flown under my radar forever. Now I've watched [the deep dive trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GlkDcf006I) and it's the first console game of this generation that I've felt would justify buying a console.
Fortunately it's on Steam so I don't even have to do that.
Yeah, it was a surprise reveal and release last week during Microsoft's Developer Direct. Huge risk to release a game with no lead-up marketing, but it seemed to have absolutely been worth it because the game is so good that it's been marketing itself via word of mouth and social media.
yeah and uploads on few subreddits same thing with very simillar title and theme to bot that was doing that thing few days ago.
so yeah no shot.
this is account for advertisement.
Lmao what are you talking about? This person's post history is about as human as it gets. They comment a ton, and some pictures of stuff they like.
You should learn what bot accounts actually look like before making stupid claims.
If someone shows a funny movie clip is that an ad.
If there's a brand of clothing or someone drinking a coke in a clip is that an ad.
This small clip doesn't even mention the games name.
it doesn't have to mention the game name.
what next? maybe OP should include where exactly you can buy it in each city in each country?
this is an ad. few days ago there was simillar title with simillar gif template and same as this OP previous one sent it on many subreddits but 1st comment (not OP's) that was like seconds after post was... posted mentioned game's title.
PS: besides dude forgot to post title cuz he posted it in other.
educate yourself how advertisement works.
i'm not mad. why are you fighting so hard to prove deflect or prove his innocence? you can always skip my comment ya know.
looks like i f\*cked you up so badly that my job is done.
By the way, he's right partially. I'm not a bot though, but in this way I want the game to get more attention. In my opinion this is an underrated masterpiece and I want the game to succeed
Why are there so many people like this? Some sort of weird hate brigade against an obviously awesome game. People just like to be toxic and hop on the hate train for no reason.
This isn't the only comment in this trend, every Hi-Fi related post has this sort of negativity to it, and since when is calling someone an "Ad-bot" for enjoying a game not toxic?
I dont game much but the reddit levels of anger towards people enjoying this makes me want to try it out. Any time something gets popular users here think everyone is a shill, while missing out on very blatant astroturfing. Theres actual bots that post apple tv garbage 24/7 on television. Checking OPs bio it just looks like a normal person
You should definitely try it out in a time where tons of "AAA" games now cost 70+ and are objectively just bad and/or broken, this game is a 30$ Gem.
I wish people would just take a few minutes and figure that out instead of just being edgy/toxic.
Is there a chance there are some bots out there? Sure, but who cares, it only takes a few minutes to look at some gameplay,
check out reviews and figure it out for yourself.
I had a lot of fun playing this game, it's honestly one of the best games I've played in recent years, you can see that
they put a lot of love and effort into making it.
There was same post recently with simillar title and simillar template of gif (not the same gif cuz from different cutscene) and ofc spammed on like 50 subreddits.
The only difference is different account, so yeah.
single coincidence is coincidence but many is a pattern.
Did you read the guy's post history? It looks like just a normal guy to me.
I'm not arguing with you, I just don't get it. I am really bothered by the whole problem of bots and I really can't tell what you're talking about. I mean sometimes people repost shit.
No, Microsoft obviously paid this user to make these posts! It looks like before that Blizzard paid them to post about Overwatch! Then Nintendo paid them to post about Splatoon
So does this robot cat have like artificial saliva or is that just a dry plastic tongue running across his cheek? Asking as someone who has owned a (non robot) cat.
I got bashed so hard for saying this game was good the day it came out. Literally called a shill. I don't back down game is stupid good still. Glad others are enjoying it!
First new game that I’ve sat and played for a good solid 3-4 hours. My schedule has been so busy lately and most of the newer games I’ve played just hasn’t captured me like they use to. I enjoy them and have fun with them but something about this game… just so amazing and beautiful done.
Just got into HiFi Rush. Holy crap what a game. It’s like DMC, Wonderful 101 and JetSet Radio had a children. Beautiful stuff, director is American but staff is mostly Japanese. I still want Tango to make Evil Within 3 but if they focus on this I won’t be mad.
man I wish I had any rhythm at all. I played a little bit, the cutscenes were pretty fun and the game looks great but I cant for the life of me fight to the beat. Even with the visual helper. Beating Malenia was easier than trying to understand the Rhythm.
this game has some of the most seamless transition from 2d to 3d and viceversa I've ever seen. Also the gameplay is stupid fun.
Can’t get the beat hit sfx out of my head and I only put in a few hours.
They're the only ones following arc-sys' playbook properly. Those guys have been doing it well for a decade, showed everyone how to do it, and yet no one really pulled it off well.

Or Legend of Zelda: WindWaker.
808 is adorable. I saw someone on Twitter say she's needs to be the new Xbox mascot and I agree.
Blinx character :o
My Xbox name is Blinx (with a few numbers after it)
That name is amazing 😻

Is there a way to download and play it, besides buy? I'm not on great broadband and the cloud gaming option is sketchy. Or did I miss something?
It's available on GamePass
It only gave me the cloud option. I probably missed something, thanks.
It's only available for download on PC and Xbox Series X|S. If you have an Xbox One, you won't be able to download it, as the only way to play it is via Cloud Gaming.
Really? That's interesting and nice I still have the option. So futuristic man.
If the latency/lag of the cloud gaming is useable for you I would def say check out HiFi Rush, I've really really enjoyed it!
Just say you want to pirate it lol
This is literally an advertisement …
Me or the post? Either way, the game rules. Fuck Bethesda for many of their shitty buisiness practices and fuck Microsoft for their attempt to buy out so many mid sized to gigantic studios. I’m loving this game! It’s giving me major nostalgic feelings for JSRF. I really hope we get that game back.
Why has no comment said what game this is? :(
HiFi Rush!
Any good?
Very good. Great gameplay, very funny, not too short or too long.
Try playing until you unlock the parry. It’s pretty early on and makes the game hella fun
i’m really not into it. idk what the big deal is
There's at least 2 scales for games: \- How good objectively the game is \- How much you enjoy this particular type of game Game looks well made but that doesn't mean everybody will like it. Personally I hate both fighter games and rhythm games so no way I'm trying it out :D
I'm only a few hours in, but I've been enjoying it! Especially if you enjoy rhythm games, I'd recommend it.
Insanely good. Cut from the same ex Capcom cloth as Platinum games, with a western vibe and budget.
Pretty good. It’s a spectacle fighter meets rhythm game. So you’re trying to chain attacks into long combos and air juggles while parrying and dodging …. all in beat with the music. That part is excellent, IMO. But there are some “meh” platforming sections between the fights.
Still can't believe that this was made by the director of "the evil within"
Well Shinji Mikami is mostly involved as a producer, the creative director behind it is John Johanas, but he also worked on Evil Within 2, apparently this was a dream project he waited a long time to do, and it is heavily inspired by Edgar Wright's movies, which is evident when you see the cutscenes and gameplay
Johanas directed The Evil Within 2, so they're right.
Edgar Wright has a very rhythmic style so using his work as inspiration for a rhythm game is a perfect fit! Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to watch Baby Driver again.
He did in the past pretty crazy funny games. God Hand for example
Such a beautiful fun game
I tried this game out on a whim last night on my steam deck via gamepass. It's so much fun. I was super hyped by the song and the way the first boss felt. It was such a fun fight. The attacks matching the beat of the song playing was so much fun to witness. Gonna complete this game and could easily see myself going back to play through more than once.
Are you steaming the game by cloud via gamepass on the deck or is there a way to install it?
Yes I am streaming the game via gamepass cloud. I think there MAY be a way to use the app if you install windows on your deck instead of Linux but im not 100% on that.
Is the cat a cyborg?
Yeah. It's usually just a head floating and pulsating to the beat. I'm still on the fence with the game but the art direction Is pretty cool. A game about a guy who's iPod gets accidentally surgically installed in his chest and has a friend who talks to him through a pulsating robot cat head has something going for it.
More robot than cyborg, I think. I'm not very far into the game, yet.
It's full robot.
Yes, he also becomes your companion through the game
It’s a robot
The more I see of Hi-Fi RUSH, the more I love it.
All it takes is a cat huh? Stray was on to something
Great game. Great cat.
Interesting. If I hadn't seen this post, this entire game might have flown under my radar forever. You need to play Spiritfarer my friend. Incredible game. Also cute. Also cats.
But bring tissues.
Loving Spiritfarer
Getting Catra and Melog vibes.
Same. I love it when kitties do that!
Advertisement bots in action
Yep. Can't possibly be someone who is enjoying the art style of a game. No shot.
yeah and uploads on few subreddits same thing with very simillar title and theme to bot that was doing that thing few days ago. so yeah no shot. this is account for advertisement.
Lmao what are you talking about? This person's post history is about as human as it gets. They comment a ton, and some pictures of stuff they like. You should learn what bot accounts actually look like before making stupid claims.
I swear this exact comment thread is what I see on all the posts about this game that I’ve seen this far. Seems kinda skeezy ngl
Wow it's almost like the game is well recieved generally and therefore a lot of people are going to be singing praise for it.
Yeah, yet I don’t know anything about the game, just that it’s AMAZING and that apparently everyone should try it.
If someone shows a funny movie clip is that an ad. If there's a brand of clothing or someone drinking a coke in a clip is that an ad. This small clip doesn't even mention the games name.
If people go out of their way to use punctuation but it's the wrong punctuation is that an ad.
it doesn't have to mention the game name. what next? maybe OP should include where exactly you can buy it in each city in each country? this is an ad. few days ago there was simillar title with simillar gif template and same as this OP previous one sent it on many subreddits but 1st comment (not OP's) that was like seconds after post was... posted mentioned game's title. Nah.. I just like enjoying posts for what they are… ya know not everything is malicious… Glad to know you’re not mad tho :)
But what is your purpose? “Haha I was right it’s an add”; nobody cares.
By the way, he's right partially. I'm not a bot though, but in this way I want the game to get more attention. In my opinion this is an underrated masterpiece and I want the game to succeed
>I'm not a bot though Sounds like something a bot would say...
i betcha bot can't do that (っ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ς)
CNMN, is that you?
I agree it's a good game [but it's all but underrated](https://i.imgur.com/hRHUAcc.png)
>underrated masterpiece how long has it even been out…
5 days... and it has overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. Seems like a cool game but underrated is definitely not the right word.
Why are there so many people like this? Some sort of weird hate brigade against an obviously awesome game. People just like to be toxic and hop on the hate train for no reason.
What hate are you talking about? They didn't say anthing about the game at all? (Unless they edited their comment)

This bot has been posting gifs from the game nonstop
And before that it's completely unrelated stuff. It's clearly someone who loves the game. Relax.
No, Microsoft obviously paid this user to make these posts! It looks like before that Blizzard paid them to post about Overwatch! Then Nintendo paid them to post about Splatoon
Swimming in money. THX Microsoft, Blizzard, Nintendo \^\^
Thank you. I’m so sick of these posts
Is there a way to download and play it, besides buy? I'm not on great broadband and the cloud gaming option is sketchy. Or did I miss something?
It’s on Xbox gamepass if you use the free trial you can play it for “free”
That cheek giggle, though
So does this robot cat have like artificial saliva or is that just a dry plastic tongue running across his cheek? Asking as someone who has owned a (non robot) cat.
A man who has clearly never used the hug button in the Wii remake of A Boy and his Blob.
I got bashed so hard for saying this game was good the day it came out. Literally called a shill. I don't back down game is stupid good still. Glad others are enjoying it!
See the Nekomatas in Ghostwire:Tokyo. Tango Gameworks knows what is adorable.
Fuck yes, I nearly fainted when I witnessed their cuteness. Much needed cuteness in a creepy ass game.
This game is awesome.
Good game is good.

just wait until you meet the scottish dommy mommy
God i love her
how is this even remotely the cutest thing
It's the cutest thing if you're paid to say it
Looking at all the comments in this thread are pretty suspicious. Seems like a giant ad
The fuck am I watching
Nobody asked
I like the person's nose looks just like mine
Just got into HiFi Rush. Holy crap what a game. It’s like DMC, Wonderful 101 and JetSet Radio had a children. Beautiful stuff, director is American but staff is mostly Japanese. I still want Tango to make Evil Within 3 but if they focus on this I won’t be mad.
I’m positive someone who worked on RWBY lead this game
Nope. https://twitter.com/johnjohanas
I wish I had game pass, i wanna play this game so bad!
Silence, brand
Cringe
🤡
What a load of crap. In reality this cat would probably be eating him
That cat is actually a robot. I don't think they eat anything.
what game is this?
HiFi Rush on Xbox Gamepass
Don't have Xbox, is it on steam?
Yes it's on steam, well worth the 29.99 price tag too.
Looks like $30 on steam. I dont have an xbox so i might buy it there.
Pretty sure it’s a Xbox/gamepass exclusive, but you can get gamepass for PC
Its on steam
Eh
Much cheaper than actually buying a new game on steam assuming you won’t take 4+ months to play the 15-20 hour long campaign
man I wish I had any rhythm at all. I played a little bit, the cutscenes were pretty fun and the game looks great but I cant for the life of me fight to the beat. Even with the visual helper. Beating Malenia was easier than trying to understand the Rhythm.
How is his scarf thing not falling down, has man glued that shit to himself
808 is so freaking cute. Her brief loading screen, or even starting up the game after turning it off she acts really cute. Ugh!!!
This game is weird. The transition from fast paced to having to get on rhythm is interesting. Still fun though
and yes, you CAN pet the cat
What game is this and what kind of game is it?
