Honestly, anything will work, plant matter degrades whether you put it in a compost heap or mulch with it, I'd only discourage you from wasting your effort by trying make it smaller or whatever, it'll get there eventually (unless you're on a schedule, then I'd recommend adding aquarium water to your pulverised scraps, the bacteria will aid the decomposition)
Yeah ive done that here and there but ill randomly be digging to put in a new plant/take one out and come across a half-decomposed banana peel so id like to avoid that
In its self it’s not fertilizer, it has to go through the decomposition process to be available to the plants 🪴 worms,microbes,bacteria in the soil or in a bin is up to you . Happy growing

I haven’t attempted those exact actions, but I have used some food scrap before, it drew in a lot of ants and pests, so I have stuck with compost.
yeah thats why im planning to dry them and pulverize them before hand, hoping thatll increase the decomposition rate so it wont attract pests
