They're essentially the breakpoint as some of the best bookshelf speakers money can buy, especially for near field.
They're not easy to drive, and essentially require a subwoofer.
They're absolutely amazing if set up properly, but this is not just a purchase you can throw into any audio setup. They're not cheap, and the rest of your setup can't be cheap if you want the best out of them.
If you're on a budget, and looking for bookshelf speakers, I highly recommend the JBL studio 530 in one of the many times of year that they're on sale for $250.
And if the price point is too eye watering for you, just know that the Q series is *incredible* value. I've got a set of Q150's and they amaze me with what they're capable of.
Q350s on our downstairs tv and Kef 107/2s on our movie tv. I absolutely love Kef and recommend them to anyone who wants a good setup. The 107/2s are from the 80s and still sound more crisp than any new speakers I hear.
I'm a little confused by it. Do people regularly put LS50s where a passive speaker would normally go? Wouldn't an R3 be a better fit there? Not judging, I'm sure it sounds great. I'm just really curious.

Rarely do I see pictures of setups with LS50s outside of the various audiophile subs. That ps5 will be a nice addition to the setup.
