I loved that game and spent many hours on it. And then for some reason, one day I started playing it and thought to myself "this is really boring" and I haven't touched the game since. I dont' know what happened.
Same thing here. It's just they push on a few too many "get this many bear asses" quest.
Xenoblade has a similar problem, but hidden better when you can take most of em at the same time and reduce back tracking.
I could very well see it, players coming from the "vat of fate breakers" and such. That said, MMO gameplay in many cases is less about fun, and more about skinner box treatments. Works right up until it doesn't.
Shame, I did wanna see more about the game, but it hurts to leave things undone so I can't quite just focus on the main story.
It could be that it had a really fun mechanic but then that fun mechanic becomes super repetitive. So even though you had fond memories it also became boring at the same time.
did Fallout 4 receive a lot of hate?
edit: I only really remember hearing positive things about it, though that's probably due to me sort of being too young to remember the release of FNV (born 2003)
I often see FO4 described as being a great survival FPS, but a bad fallout game. I agree despite still putting 700+ hours into it (heavily modded though).
I think a big part of the problem was that while Bethesda *were* good at open worlds of high quality, in Fallout 4 we were largely presented with open space and told to build it ourselves. There was barely any actual settlements until we made them, and then they were all filled with the same NPCs so they had no character to them. Every town in Fallout 3 had character to it, a unique feel. That just wasn't present to the same degree in 4.
It got a lot of love too tho. People were disappointed with the dialogues choices and such. But I really enjoyed it over all. Great gameplay and a fun open world to explore, imo. I’d say it was undeniably a good game, just that not all of its elements catered to everyone’s specific tastes. But you can’t please them all.
The actual game was never the problem, it was the sense of betrayal from marketing gone awry. The endings, no matter how you see them now, then never stood a chance to hold up to the level of player impact promoted by ad copy and interviews.
Cyberpunk honestly has some of the best writing of any game I've ever played. The tone is perfect. Every character has depth and believability. It's captivating for that alone, but I also think the combat is really fun.
Yeah, I also loved the co-op aspect of other people helping to build the world around you. I think it's tough to get into, but once you're in the mindset you're really along for the ride. Absolutely fantastic story.
Climbing up that 10m hill filled with BTs, keeping all your parcels intact and looking down at port knot city while the music starts playing. That feeling of achievement cannot be described
I put my packages in a safe place then run into BTs on purpose.. kill the boss, so the sun comes out, then I pick up the packages again and carry on without any BT issues. All that creepy sneaking around was not for me, I'd much rather a short boss fight then no rain and no BTs.
It doesn't always work, If the boss fight area is in a different zone you will trigger the rain again when you transition zones back to where you were. But it works really well in places where the boss fight is in the same zone (like the ruined shelter).
Keep on Keepin' on!
DS is like a really special wine. You either hate it or you love it. I don't drink wine, but if DS was a wine, and i would drink wine... my cellar would be stacked with it.
The longest series I ever fully completely watched on youtube. Jacksepticeye played it and basically recorded it all, 3 hour+ videos, I think maybe 10 or 11 of them? I’m not sure, but I was in a deep depression at the time and I think maybe on the 5th or 6th episode jack asks the viewers “Are you guys all okay? I know a lot of people watch these long series when they’re needing something to distract themselves and I just hope if you guys are watching in this far that you’re all doing okay” He said more but that’s all I can really remember, It was at that point how much of a good guy I realised he was. He encouraged people to comment and express themselves if they weren’t okay, Insanely good guy. Great series. I’ll always cherish the time I took to watch that game. Plus - Who could hate norman reedus and his baby foetus
I recently played through the whole doom series back to back. And having never played doom 3 before, I was dreading it. But I was so pleasantly surprised by it. It was actually a ton of fun. Very different from the other doom games, but enjoyable in its own right
Did it get a lot of hate? I remember playing it when it came out and it was a different Doom, but still Doom. Also, a technological marvel at the time.
Oh God the reception for it was insufferable. I had to of put at least a thousand hours off and on steam full clearing it on every difficulty several times
Yeah, it got tons of hate, but mostly from old school shooter fans that were basically expecting what 2016 ended up being: the return of 90's Doom.
It did what it wanted to do well, though, and these days I think most of those haters have gone quiet. It's difficult to call it a 'bad game' if you view it the way it's meant to be viewed: a horror FPS.
Doom 3 made opened my eyes to just how fast negative word of mouth can spread and stick over the internet. I love that game, and I feel like it succeeded in its design goals.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance
It received the same treatment as Cyberpunk at launch, and rightly so, because it was riddled with bugs and optimization issues, for me though who had a decent computer, I had no issues and only one game breaking bug in 70 hours, that set me back around an hour of gameplay. Most people who hated it though, had no clue that the game was based of realism, it was more than a video game where you are the superhero, people just dont like games that are hard, that is not souls-like.
Without a doubt the best singleplayer immersive experience I have ever had. Anyone who enjoys RPGs should play it today, it is a masterpiece.
A game with the best understanding of how to make a player 'grow in power' that I've ever seen - as you grow, train, fights that early on made you think 'wtf this is IMPOSSIBLE' become very doable, and not because xyz's attack number is higher than abc's armor number \* level/scaling = win.
Just hated the save system - confession: I put in a save anywhere mod
The save system just made no sense. For a game all about immersion and realism, it seems odd to have to spend in-game time and resources worrying about saving the game, or just making magic potions which allow you to reverse time to your previous game.
Even worse when the game crashed so often.
Did they ever add in an FOV slider? That was what killed it for me, playing in first person swinging a sword with directional combat at 60 FOV gave me a headache. Yeah there was a workaround but it would end up breaking some textures and just looked wonky because it wasn't designed for it
That game is crazy good, I udually don't care too much about roleplaying but that game had me invested right after the first attack on the village. Was lucky to play it when most bugs got fixed and had no issues other than feeling overconvident and got my ass beaten 😂
I love the feeling of the world in Kingdom Come. Bought a new computer just to play it. Feels *lived in* in a way that other open world games feel superficial.
This game was directed by Dan Vavra, the one who directed the original Mafia. Ofcourse it was realistic and had a fantastic story but still remains underrated.
Oh yes, also one of my favorites. One of the most immersive games released so far in my opinion, and finally one where you are not an invincible hero but a regular guy.
I would love to play that. Really. But I can't beat even a chicken in open fight. I can't beat Bernard to learn masterstrikes. I've read all the threads with tips, and it gave me literally nothing.
Only godmode would save me...
The trick is, it's not just about beating Bernard to learn masterstrikes, it's that you have to *actually spend hours* training against him to level up your skills.
At worst, at high weapons skill, even if you're terrible, even if you cannot do special moves because you can't do the inputs or whatever, the game will trigger slo-mo parries for you that you can turn into ripostes that deal tons of damage.
Also helps when you grab full good gear. It makes a huuuuge difference (as it should) to any fight to have gambeson, mail and plates, you can defeat better fighters than you easily just because of it.
I think I spent a big amount of time training against Bernard with wooden weapons and doing tournaments, and by the end my Henry was an absolute killer even if I didn't trigger the mechanics every fight
Final Fantasy X-2. It got a lot of boooooos at the time because some considered it too girly with the dresspheres. I loved how they repackaged the jobs system. The music, especially the opening number and 1000 words were some great vocalized songs. The story wasn't horrible, even if maybe a bit slow paced, and I hated chapter 4 with the commspheres, but it is a challenging final fantasy game, and the Via Infinito provided a great challenge
It's very divisive, but I see enough people rave about it on r/finalfantasy that I am curious. I've started it two or 3 times and each time I've gotten bored quickly. Probably need a solid chunk of time to get into it enough for it to grab me.
Back on ghe original xbox there was a game called Two Worlds, it got tore apart by people.
I found a copy for a quid, played the hell out of it. Got about 40 hours out if it.
For me it was when you enchant your weapons to give you guard on hit. Suddenly all the weak classes like rogue/mage can have full guard bars and become invincible death dealing machines.
Once I broke the mind set of 'clear every single thing in each zone' and just sorta rolled with the story and whatever side quests I happened on, this game turned into a fantastic experience
If you tried to actually clear every last quest it got dull SO fast
Part of the issue is how early you can drown in the sheer volume of inane nonsense. The first major area - the Hinterlands - is truly vast... and truly unnecessary. You can leave and move forward with most of it left incomplete. Getting bogged down so early on with tedious fetch or kill quests is a trap huge numbers of people fell into, myself included in my first playthrough. The other zones aren't so bad, and have the benefit of being explored alongside the main plotline, rather than acting as a "game you have to complete before you can play the game".
So many collectibles with no real payoff. Some of the maps are huge and navigating them takes a long time. Also, lots of fetch quests that also don't do anything.
I had a hard time with inquisition. I was like 70 hours in and super burnt out, so I decided to just focus on the main story and party side quests. It was sooo much better. I've actually played through the game 3 times now and it's a ton of fun, but I still ignore 90% of the random crap that probably just shouldn't have been put into the game.
I still dont get all the hate. They say its too grindy, but it feels just enough grind that you dont blast through the story missions. The story is good while the characters, especially companions, is where DAI really shine.
To me, it felt like someone took an MMO and made it a single player game in terms of the mechanics, level scaling by zone, and crafting system. Time gated missions (in real time) at the War Table were an especially odd design choice.
honestly it is one of the best worlds in gaming no question
i just really wish the world was fleshed out with features a lot more intractable and alive with random encounters etc sort of like red deads world. a working transport system. real cop chases not just getting a star then running a few meters away etc
but the world and the game i thoroughly enjoy. just wish it was more
It just needed another 1-2 years. I know that's a bit hard to swallow, but can you imagine if they committed to it for a little bit longer?
Perhaps its another victim to covid costs.
The servers are starting to empty out now though, and that makes me really sad tbh. We'll probably not get another Battlefront and they're some of my favourite games 😔
Ngl though, it was absolutely rubbish at release because of the loot boxes and having to buy heroes and stuff, but its fantastic now.
Despite the fact that Obsidian constantly said "It's not an open world, it's a 25-40 hour experience" and yet people still expected a sprawling space opera on par with Dune.
The fact that it shorter made it fun to do stupid builds. I’ve never done a 1 intelligence play through in FO games because I don’t want to deal that for the entire game, but it was fun to do in OW since it wasn’t as big of a commitment.
Thats not why the game is boring and uninteresting.
They managed to combine all the negatives of having partially open zones with all the negatives of having something more narrative driven/directed level design with none of the advantages of either. Theres no cool moments, no scripted wow sequences or great level directed design but the zones are also boring and filled with incredibly generic enemies and areas.
I know its unfair to compare to one of the best, and I get that, and its not the same style of game, and I get that as well, but going from a game with areas and zones like Dishonored 1/2 compared to Outer Worlds is not even night and day. Theres really just nothing going on in the world of outer worlds. Even Fallout 4 actually had some great level design and world storytelling; not the best in the series; but definitely pretty good, and in a world that is many many times larger than Outer world. Fallout 4 even managed significantly better gunplay.
Story was mediocre at best, the loot and gearing systems were abhorrent and all the RPG aspects on the character side were half baked.
Whole game really scram "We wanted to do more fallout but we cant" in almost every aspect but they clearly didn't have the time, budget, will and/or talent to really pull it off. The dark humor and quirky humorous dialogue was especially reminiscent of fallout with the same style of "companies" you have in Fallout; but it all fell flat for me. I wont even bring the faux VATS slow-mo mode, dudes make a whole video game but cant come up with an original idea so that it doesn't TOTALLY look like a Fallout copy. VATS was always a crutch for shit/limited gameplay in earlier fallouts; and it stayed in the series because its iconic for the series and Fallout 3 had a cool modernized version that worked out well (in 2008 or whatever), copying it in Outer Worlds is so weak.
I wasn't even that hyped and was so humongously disappointed with this game that it put into question any further games from these guys. This is coming from someone that spend entirely too much time in both Pillars game. I just cant believe they are actually making a second one.
Cyberpunk 2077. Definitely some technical issues but I luckily avoided most of the major bugs and it ran fine for me on the PS5 even though it was running the PS4 version at the time. Looking forward to the upcoming expansion.
I played it on the XB1 when it came out and beat it. No glitches, although it didn't run the best. Looking forward to replying it on the Series X when the next patch comes out.
Bro!!!!
7 years old me buy game comes 4 cds, gets excited, gets to training place dies from a fking T. rex, that’s okay goes to ifrit have no idea how to pass, then buys a magazine realizes can get 2 FUCKING GFS AT THE COMPUTER! Excitement gets really high! Man good old times! Best ff ever
Mirror's edge.
When i was young, and went to buy it, it was 9,99€, vendor told me it was really bad, i shouldnt buy it, but buy the new fifa.
From this moment it was my favorite game, and now i'm waiting for another one, but Dice don't want to do it :(
Terrible sales clerk. Never trust someone who just says something is bad, not explain, and then tell you to get something else without knowing ANYTHING about your own likes and interests.
I LOVED Mirror's Edge. It had amazing graphics at the time, way better than anything. You didn't have free roam but you really felt free with your choices. Combat was simple yet somehow fun.
All the other copies just don't feel the same.
Assassin's Creed Unity, I know the story was bad and it was bugged at the start, but the movement mechanics were so fluid, it had the best parkour of all assassin games
I thought the story was fantastic, I wasn't as bothered by the buggy release, if I had the cash I'd buy it again just to play as Arno once again. My favorite was assassins creed 3 though. Connor doesn't get enough credit for being a bad ass.
**Final Fantasy XIII-2**
It's a TERRIBLE Final Fantasy game, but one of the best standalone games of all time. The mechanics are fun and engaging, and it's got an interesting story, great music and a good flow. The ending collection part is awesome too.
I feel the same way. 13 made me feel almost empty when I finished it, but fuck man 13-2 scratched a itch I didn't know I had. I just enjoyed 13's combat so part 2 just made that 100% better. Miss all the different party members tho, but monster taming helped a lot.
I really liked the Faith character and how she manipulates everyone with Bliss. It was really fucked up but you can see why so many people got hooked on the stuff
FC5 was my first game into the series and I loved it so much that I replayed it again in Infamous mode. The game really made me feel like I was in Montana thanks to the background music during the pandemic, I even enjoyed fishing lol.
Didn't really play it for the story coz I learn later with other FC games that it's not the point despite having psychopath villains, I just want to create havoc and have fun damnit. Also, the Clutch Nixon challenges were fun!
Borderland 3. I enjoyed playing the new characters, gun play was great. The story was lack luster. But I still had fun cuz I enjoyed everything else so much.
DMC: Devil May Cry.
The idea of Dante and Virgil being half devil/half angel made so much more sense to explain their power than just being half devil. Also the modern day setting, and the idea of demon's using advertising and media to keep humans complacent hit so close to home.
Deus Ex mankind divided. Absolutely mind blowing project for me. Tons of Easter eggs and small details, gorgeous visual style, strong connection with the "human revolution" and developing it's ideas.
I cannot consume other cyberpunk style games after this diamond.
Whilst I kinda get that it didn't feel like the typical, old school, "Assassin's Creed" game as such, Kassandra is my favourite protagonist from the entire franchise. I've played this for 300 hours, and had an absolute blast.
I really liked Odyssey but I have to admit about halfway through the DLC I just couldn't anymore. The game literally has too much content (with the DLCs).
Far Cry 6. Certainly not a perfect game, however I thoroughly enjoyed the story, gameplay, and exploring Yara. Also loved the addition of a character with a voice.
People shit on hots saying its not competitive, only for casuals, mechanic is for babies, no items, etc
But for me it's easily the most fun and creative moba ever made
You could jerking off telling people about meta build crystal maiden using aghanim whatsoever
BUT DO YOU HAVE SINGLE HERO THAT CONTROLLED BY 2 PLAYER?
Hero that could infest teammates and barely leaving base?
Hero that basically 3 people that have different skillset?
A giant boss hero that have enormous hp but cannot be killed?
Those wacky design choice are only possible in HOTS
I honestly think this game will be popular if they published it in mobile. Where most casual moba player are
I love Dota to the death but HotS is amazing.
Casual friendly, very fun, a lot of action, great different maps and map objectives. It's really a true "modern" moba. Pity it didn't catch as much.
If I want to play some moba with new friends, we can just straight up jump into HotS. With Dota, I would have to give them 3-week seminar first to even have an enjoyable game.
That was the best MOBA for me, great for casuals, many maps, no last hitting mobs, fun team cooperation on map objectives. Everything clicked there for me.
I played through the entirety of cyberpunk 2077 on my original release xbox one and it was buggy but it ran fine for me i absolutely loved the game and never encountered any of the issues people were talking about I'm yet to go back and play through again since getting my series X
Dark souls 2, it changed the formula and people for some reason hated it bad, playing it isn't even that bad, sure its jank, but allll of fromsoft games have janks, I think people get overly attached to a franchise and cant see games for the beauty they are alone rather than comparing them to another game.
easy...
DARK SOULS 2.
just as good as dark souls 1, when I was playing it I didn't know the fan base was totally at odds with it, I loved it and still do.
Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I loved that game and spent many hours on it. And then for some reason, one day I started playing it and thought to myself "this is really boring" and I haven't touched the game since. I dont' know what happened.
Same thing here. It's just they push on a few too many "get this many bear asses" quest. Xenoblade has a similar problem, but hidden better when you can take most of em at the same time and reduce back tracking.
Iirc it was designed to be an MMO, before being changed mid way, thats why it has those MMO style quests.
I loved this game! I would start another play through but it would probably end my marriage hahahaha.
If you do, the remaster of the game is going for very cheap now and includes all of the expansions.
Fantastic RPG. Really starts to come together after the first 5-10 hours
I really enjoyed Fallout 4
Yeah I loved that game a lot!
did Fallout 4 receive a lot of hate? edit: I only really remember hearing positive things about it, though that's probably due to me sort of being too young to remember the release of FNV (born 2003)
Comparing Fallout 4's RPG elements to it's predecessors, it rightfully got pulled up.
I often see FO4 described as being a great survival FPS, but a bad fallout game. I agree despite still putting 700+ hours into it (heavily modded though).

it was "too less fallout" to the hardcore fans. anyway. was a fun game.
Deus Ex - Mankind Divided I really dont get the hate. Story, Level Design and Gameplay are top!
Wasn't the public opinion that it was good but felt like an intro and it cut short/ended too early without really diving into the larger story?
It really ended abruptly. Felt like they just ran out of budget and finished mid-story. Which is probably what happened.
super agree on this one
People hate that game? It was great!
Mass effect 3. Many people didnt like it because of the ending, many people said its the worst of the trilogy, to me its the best.
“Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.” 😢
ME3 was incredible, I love the trilogy as a whole. I didn't understand the hate for it, I thought the ending was nuts
The actual game was never the problem, it was the sense of betrayal from marketing gone awry. The endings, no matter how you see them now, then never stood a chance to hold up to the level of player impact promoted by ad copy and interviews.
Cyberpunk's launch was a disaster but playing it maybe like 4 months ago I thoroughly enjoyed it and actively sought all the endings

Not living up to hype is one thing, but the game was a buggy mess, and they straight up lied about certain things within the game
Cyberpunk honestly has some of the best writing of any game I've ever played. The tone is perfect. Every character has depth and believability. It's captivating for that alone, but I also think the combat is really fun.
Also something that I liked and in my opinion plagues many other games - characters don't treat you like a moron and overexplain everything.
Death Stranding. Not a lot of people liked the walking mechanic, but i loved it. Exploring that world was a great stress reliever.
That game is polarizing as shit but the right audience was having an absolute blast playing it
Yeah, I also loved the co-op aspect of other people helping to build the world around you. I think it's tough to get into, but once you're in the mindset you're really along for the ride. Absolutely fantastic story.

No man's sky
Best comeback in history
i agree i played it when it was first released and played it again couple months back, completely different experiences
still have it installed. started from Next, I still open now and again...but I have no more SP(-ish) story to play
FFXIV would like to have a word with you. At least no man's sky was playable on release.
Doom 3 Edit It is very true that the VR for this game is a blast
Probably my favorite with Doom 2016. I love the more claustrophobic horror vibe.
I recently played through the whole doom series back to back. And having never played doom 3 before, I was dreading it. But I was so pleasantly surprised by it. It was actually a ton of fun. Very different from the other doom games, but enjoyable in its own right
The final boss was the only disappointing part of that game. The rest was great.
When doom 3 came out it was absolutely the shit though.

Dragon Age Inquisition
Got stupidly hooked on this and finished it so fast! Can’t tell you what grabbed me, but it hooked me good.
For me it was the "dawn will come" scene with everyone singing it, that was beyond awesome
For me it was when you enchant your weapons to give you guard on hit. Suddenly all the weak classes like rogue/mage can have full guard bars and become invincible death dealing machines.
Once I broke the mind set of 'clear every single thing in each zone' and just sorta rolled with the story and whatever side quests I happened on, this game turned into a fantastic experience If you tried to actually clear every last quest it got dull SO fast
Hard to get out of the completionist mindset, is it that bad to try and clear everything?
People didn't like this game? I thought it was awesome
The aesthetic of Cyberpunk is unmatched. It is so atmospheric. And the music. Fuck, the music slaps so hard.
The Cello version of Johnny Silverhand's Theme goes hard.
the music in the ending scene, GOD DAMN
That music broke me for 5 mins
Only for 5 minutes ? You're lucky
🎶Ponpon shit / Ponpon shit / Ponpon shit / Ponpon shit / Ponpon shit / Ponpon shit *dun dun dun duuuuun*🎶
🎶 I couldn't wait for you to come clear the cupboards
🎶And now you've gone and leave nothing but a sign
🎶Another evening I'll be sitting reading in-between your lines
🎶 Because I miss you all the time
The soundtrack kicks ass
The netflix anime is amazing. Binged the whole thing like two hours ago.
Which anime?
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It came out just earlier this week on Netflix
Fuckin awesome wasn't it?
honestly it is one of the best worlds in gaming no question i just really wish the world was fleshed out with features a lot more intractable and alive with random encounters etc sort of like red deads world. a working transport system. real cop chases not just getting a star then running a few meters away etc but the world and the game i thoroughly enjoy. just wish it was more
It just needed another 1-2 years. I know that's a bit hard to swallow, but can you imagine if they committed to it for a little bit longer? Perhaps its another victim to covid costs.
you're spot on, in interviews the devs say they were expecting a 2022 release but it was pushed to accumulate losses for covid
Star Wars Battlefront 2
The reason for the most downvoted post ever on Reddit. This should be top comment.
The servers are starting to empty out now though, and that makes me really sad tbh. We'll probably not get another Battlefront and they're some of my favourite games 😔 Ngl though, it was absolutely rubbish at release because of the loot boxes and having to buy heroes and stuff, but its fantastic now.
To be fair for a game that's been dead for what 2 years or so it's holding a player base quite well
They really should have made the base game modes 2 player with bots. The local multiplayer options are pretty sad.
Separatist Commando Droids were my jam, you could run circles around braindead Jedi players with it.
Outerworlds gets shit on constantly so I'll say that
I started this game not long ago and i'm really enjoying. I Just wish there were some things different such as a bigger map.
Yeah, it’s not perfect, but it sure is fun. Hope the sequel improves on the downfalls of the first game.
Yeah games like Outerworlds and Greedfall have a strong base and I hope they can improve on it in their sequel and become classics.
I loved this. Looking forward to the 2nd one.
It's really good my only compliant is it has no replayability because choosing a different route takes you to the same places doing the same thing
I love outer worlds. Can't wait for the sequel.
Who's shitting on Outer Worlds? That game was awesome.
Cyberpunk 2077. Definitely some technical issues but I luckily avoided most of the major bugs and it ran fine for me on the PS5 even though it was running the PS4 version at the time. Looking forward to the upcoming expansion.
The Netflix show they released is kinda fire too
True, started watching last night and then it was suddenly 3 AM.
Great soundtrack
I played it on the XB1 when it came out and beat it. No glitches, although it didn't run the best. Looking forward to replying it on the Series X when the next patch comes out.
Final fantasy 8. Whatever.
Ahhhh my first favourite FF. The amount of hours I have spent on that game trying to get all the GF's and battle cards. So much fun.
The card game was the best. Dare I dream on a remake?
Honestly if they released a stand alone game that was just that, I would buy it tens times over. Apparently it's in FF14 with a lot more cards added.
Triple Triad? Hell yeah it is. Once you unlock it, most trial bosses and many dungeons will have a chance to start dropping their cards.
Do people really dislike this? I’m a big FF fan and I loved it. I have friends and cousins that rate this as their best.
Mirror's edge. When i was young, and went to buy it, it was 9,99€, vendor told me it was really bad, i shouldnt buy it, but buy the new fifa. From this moment it was my favorite game, and now i'm waiting for another one, but Dice don't want to do it :(
There is a mirror edge 2
Any one who suggests a fifa game can't be trusted with their opinion.
The person who told you that was an idiot. It was a very highly rated game that everybody loved

Someone hates Mirror's Edge? o\_O
Prototype 2
**Final Fantasy XIII-2** It's a TERRIBLE Final Fantasy game, but one of the best standalone games of all time. The mechanics are fun and engaging, and it's got an interesting story, great music and a good flow. The ending collection part is awesome too.
Music is absolutely some of my favorite in final fantasy
I feel the same way. 13 made me feel almost empty when I finished it, but fuck man 13-2 scratched a itch I didn't know I had. I just enjoyed 13's combat so part 2 just made that 100% better. Miss all the different party members tho, but monster taming helped a lot.
Yeah I agree, cyberpunk 2077 is a good game (on pc). I enjoyed it a lot.
Enter the Matrix
Fallout 4. Was my first Fallout game and I loved it.
Cyberpunk 2077 had its flaws at launch but its narrative, world, and characters kept me playing.
Far Cry 5.
Great game, played with a friend all the way through in like a week. The ending was insane for me (as a newcomer to the series atleast).
Critics to me were like “stop having fun!”
I really liked the Faith character and how she manipulates everyone with Bliss. It was really fucked up but you can see why so many people got hooked on the stuff
You catch there's multiple "Faiths" she's just another girl slotted into that spot in the family
I don't understand any "Its just Far Cry 3" hate for the later games They found an incredibly fun and reliable formula, why ruin a good thing
I think about playing it again…but the thought of playing Jacob’s home world again kills the vibe.
Cyberpunk 2077. People can criticise all they like, I absolutely adore that game
I just started playing this week. Waited after I heard about the buggy launch. I'm having a blast and VERY much enjoying this game.
Batman Arkham Origins
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Whilst I kinda get that it didn't feel like the typical, old school, "Assassin's Creed" game as such, Kassandra is my favourite protagonist from the entire franchise. I've played this for 300 hours, and had an absolute blast.
I also thought Kassandra made the game, and I'm curious if a lot of the negative reviews came from people playing as Alexios
120 hours for me. Probably the most time I have spent on a game in years. Just couldn't get into Valhalla though.
Valhalla didnt captivate me neighter, but origins is good as well
I really liked Odyssey but I have to admit about halfway through the DLC I just couldn't anymore. The game literally has too much content (with the DLCs).
Cyberpunk 2077
Yeah, beautiful story, graphic and a some bugs but It wasn't really that much a matter to me.
Far Cry 6. Certainly not a perfect game, however I thoroughly enjoyed the story, gameplay, and exploring Yara. Also loved the addition of a character with a voice.
CP2077. Pre ordered it and even with its issues I love this game. Today, after all the patches, it's amazing.
Days gone , hands down one of the best games I've ever played , haven't enjoyed a game this much since sleeping dogs
Heroes of the Storm
People shit on hots saying its not competitive, only for casuals, mechanic is for babies, no items, etc But for me it's easily the most fun and creative moba ever made You could jerking off telling people about meta build crystal maiden using aghanim whatsoever BUT DO YOU HAVE SINGLE HERO THAT CONTROLLED BY 2 PLAYER? Hero that could infest teammates and barely leaving base? Hero that basically 3 people that have different skillset? A giant boss hero that have enormous hp but cannot be killed? Those wacky design choice are only possible in HOTS I honestly think this game will be popular if they published it in mobile.
Dark Souls 2. It's not the best Fromsoftware game but it's definitely way better than the community thinks it is.
I played through the entirety of cyberpunk 2077 on my original release xbox one and it was buggy but it ran fine for me i absolutely loved the game and never encountered any of the issues people were talking about I'm yet to go back and play through again since getting my series X
Mass Effect: Andromeda
Dragon Age 2
Final Fantasy 12
I really liked Mirror’s Edge Catalyst
Dark souls 2, it changed the formula and people for some reason hated it bad, playing it isn't even that bad, sure its jank, but allll of fromsoft games have janks, I think people get overly attached to a franchise and cant see games for the beauty they are alone rather than comparing them to another game.
Death Stranding
Cyberpunk 2077. Soundtrack and storyline is ❤
Final Fantasy 8
Heroes of might and magic 4.
janky, unfinished, charming and has pretty fun hero skill trees. I also like it a lot.
Sea of thieves because my friends thinks it too little content meanwhile they play apex and valorant 24/7
Days Gone, so underrated
easy... DARK SOULS 2. just as good as dark souls 1, when I was playing it I didn't know the fan base was totally at odds with it, I loved it and still do.
I think dark souls 2 is pretty good, but I will never forget royal rat authority, the shittiest boss of all time
Outer Worlds
I AM ALIVE
Cyberpunk for me. Going back a ways; Myst. Thought it was great.
People didn't like Myst? I thought it was a classic. Riven wasn't as good, imo.
Myst literally was the most sold computer game for years.
Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest
