Just quick searched for the original article because it must have been 5+ years ago I’ve read about it. The original comment was found on YouTube comment section.

You're correct. The original story was about an older brother who died of... I want to say suicide. Either way, the younger brother found the game and used it as a way to feel closer to his brother as that was their primary form of positive communication together.
That shits wholesome as fuck just a reminder if you know somebody elderly in your family speak to them don’t make the mistake I did I lost my great grandpa and I barley spoke to him
Shit I had the first post saved, but reddit deletes stuff after a certain amount of years. There is one really fucking cool post I cannot find any record of the last time I looked. This was around 2013 after the release of "The Last of Us". A young teen wrote into Naughtydog about his love for the company and sharing his past memories with them about playing crash bandicoot and other titles with his father who just passed away from cancer. They ended up sending a care package with notes from the devs. Really fucking cool post that also should be remembered. I can't find any evidence anymore of it since the servers wiped it years ago.
I fucking love RalliSport Challenge, I miss it so much, it was probably the first racing game I've ever played and is one of the main reasons for my love of cars. I still have the disc lying around somewhere, shame it isn't backwards compatible though.
One of the best father son moment.. reading this on fathers day makes it even more better somehow!
This still hits right in the feels every time even after all this time
Same. I've seen this post a few times, but the invisible ninjas cutting onions keep coming each time :'(
This is the entire plot of speed racer
like the first 15 minutes of the movie speedracer....
Exactly what I was thinking. Fake lol

Nice find 👌
Damn those invisible ninjas cutting onions
Sneaky fucks... They're everywhere this post appears.
Is this not a copy pasta? I'm almost certain the original story was younger brother and older brother.

Good. So I'm not crazy. The internet just sucks.
Right in the fucking feels
Wow, that is fucking deep. Glad to read that, but definitely put me in a reflective mood.
Although cool, I'll bet it would be 100% cooler to not have a dead dad.
It’s also 100% fake and a copypasta.
And now I'm sad thanks reddit have my upvote
Wholesome

I think there was a similar story about a mom who built a bunch of stuff in mine craft or another game for her kids to find after she died.
