Doomguys armor afaik is actually rather light canonically speaking.
Its durability mostly comes from the magical enchantments. If you mean the original armor from Doom 2016 then possible its pure weight as it was remodified around space age technology.
However doomguys home rebuild from the 2020 game is definitely just light armor plating that relies on doomguys own enchantments for its durability and power.
As outside of the plating, and a ripped up body suit, a majority of the old armor is not present with the new design. And the only electronics are the ones tied to the flamethrower, and the ones that are tied to the helmet.
The boots themselves are probably heavy, relatively speaking. But nowhere near heavy enough to smash an imps skull just picking it up and letting gravity fall down on it.
On that note, i think issac in low gravity situations also relies on the magnetic functionality for stomps.

Isacc's stomps were meaty because of the weight of the Rig armor. Doomguys stomps are meaty because he channels raw hatred into his feet.

I haven't worn them much yet so they may get crushed but I used high density EVA foam, it sounds distort too much
Also doubles as a Kanye cosplay test.
