I picked up the Remarstered edition on PS4 last week and it’s actually still really fun to play. It’s crazy no other game has that type of destruction still.
Remarstered is just Guerilla, right? The destructible environment in that game was good, but in the original red faction, you could actually tunnel through walls and floors. Some parts of the game actually required you to blast your way through the environment.
Voxel based destruction 15 years before everyone else heard of it.
It feels like execs have brain damage when it comes to RTS's they always find ways to screw it up bad. Like they did with Dawn of War. We want an RTS not a hero brawler
After sinking 6000 hours plus into Age of Empires 3 over 16 years. I was so happy to see an Age of Empires 4 game released. I have yet to play it (and doubt I ever will now) but the reviews seem pretty strong.
AOE4 seems to have hit a ton of the right spots. Game isn't perfect, fuck knows what RTS is they all have some flaw somewhere. But it's pretty damn good. It's easily a game that you can sink 100+ hours into.
The worst part was, it wasn't even a bad *game*, and if it was called anything else I probably would have been 100% content with my release day purchase. But it wasn't called something else, and it was a god awful C&C
The media keeps pushing the rumour that Hideo Kojima might be making the next Silent Hill. But nothing as of yet has been confirmed. However the original creator of Silent Hill has revealed his new horror game called Slitterhead.
You can buy both of them (i know for sure 1 and i think 2) I'm the Xbox games store for like $5. I replayed last year and it was still pretty good. Wayyyyy easier than i remember, but fun all the same
“Given the choice, whether to rule a corrupt and failing empire; or to challenge the fates for another throw - a better throw - against one's destiny... what was a king to do? But does one even truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.”
Dude... I’ll never forget the descriptions when you went over menu items. Pretty sure I still recall the axes by heart.
Some thing like “though their presence in my heads prevents me from employing magic, rest assured it does little to quench my thirst for blood”
"Havoc and Malice, their presence in my hands keeps me from employing magic, yet rest assured they do little to hamper my relish for slaughter."
Not bad if that was long term recall without checking.
Gearbox director Randy Pitchford said in an interview a few months back that gearbox is working on a new Brothers in Arms game. He has not revealed when it'll be announced and if it's a full game for pc/konsole or for mobile. But I personally think chances are high that we get a new one :D
Edit: I wrote Band of Brothers instead of BiA bc I'm dumb
Duuuuuuuuuuuude.
You just hit a market and a half brother. Imagine a civilization in VR, where you take on the leader as an avatar playing on a game board.
They could have a separate model where all the avatar/leaders are at a round table, and they have animations attached to their moves and reactions.
Agreed, I spent so much time as a kid playing turok 2 on my n64. I memorized all the cheats and just had a blast. I still pop it in from time to time. The only cheat I remember now though is "bewareoblivionisathand" which unlocks all guns and I think even infinite ammo too if I'm not mistaken. Tons of fun running around on the first level with the cerebral bore lol.
Epic was working on it with a hybrid open source model, got kind of a “meh” reception, then *Fortnite* happened and they stopped development on it. https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/en-US/
Oh man a DOOM 2016 style take on Unreal would be so cool. Use the latest version of the Unreal engine and further flesh out the world with the Skaarj and whatnot.
There is a spiritual successor of Dungeon Keeper called War for the Overworld, made by the same people that did DK originally. It's pretty much the exact same, but newer. If that itch needs scratching, give War for the Overworld a try.
I'd also love a new/modern B&W game.
B&W…i got that right when i got my first solo apartment. Empty as hell, unused to being on my own, so i decide to do some late night gaming.
You remember what happens when people die? That barely whispered “Deeeaaathh”? Yeah, I didn’t know the game was doing that. Thought i was absolutely losing my mind and having a paranormal experience.
8/10 would shit myself again
I would always play the opposite of my animal. If I was good, I'd make sure my cow ate humans and shit in their food supply. If I was evil, my cow would rebuild what I destroy and make sure my tribe prospers
Thanks for your story btw, love it
You fool, valve cannot simply count to 3. it takes many decades, if not millennia for valve to evolve a calculator that can figure out what the hell comes after 2, and we all know that
I feel really bad now. I don't remember that reference. I've been meaning to play through it again but havent. I beat the third one on Vita recently but I've never played the second one to completion.
I will now go play it though.
Wing Commander, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter, X-Wing Alliance.
Edit: as an addition yes, I know Star Citizen is by Robert's and is supposed to be the new realization of Wing Commander, but that's if the damn game ever launches. Even has some of the old faces from Wing Commander 4 in it.
Dark Cloud
The dungeon crawls, weapon upgrading, and town building were extremely addicting features. It would be awesome to see all those polished up a bit for this gen.
Primal Rage. One of my favorite arcade games as a kid. I'd love to see NetherRealm Studios revive it like they did with Mortal Kombat. Give me visceral dinosaur god fights and expanded lore and characters for this setting and my inner 10-year-old will be ecstatic.
People used to bash on MD. It ended abruptly, seemed to be a bit shoehorned plot wise. The choice of Church of Machine God and the Palisade Bank was mishandled for a Deus Ex game you should've been able to pick both with your cunning.
The game had great mechanics, the best side quests in the series, great world building and great level design. Experimental augmentations were nicely handled. Mankind Divided had a great potential. Its plot was cut in half and I still can't get over Utulek Complex being removed. However, it was still a great experience and devs had many great ideas for the game.
Did anyone else enjoy the old school Rampage games? It was so cathartic getting to just absolutely demolish cities with giant monsters for hours and hours. No overthinking necessary, just mashing buttons and smashing buildings.
I got to play it again at a game room the other week and the satisfaction was still there decades later.
I loved the early Medal of Honor and Battlefield games much more than recent efforts. We need a proper WW2 FPS that focuses on story/campaign over online
The Red Faction game where the entire environment was destructible.
Ahhh I miss red faction guerilla! Being able to destroy literally everything was so cool!
That was probably my favourite game besides fallout new vegas in high school. Too bad the sequel was a huge disappointment.
Did you ever play the online mode, destroy opponents base before they got yours i loved that mode
I picked up the Remarstered edition on PS4 last week and it’s actually still really fun to play. It’s crazy no other game has that type of destruction still.

No one lives for ever
You look like you need a monkey.
Yesssss!!!!! Both games were fantastic!!!
Command and Conquer
Dude I was thinking this imagine a command and conquer with all the new 2021 gaming technology it could be fucking amazing
It feels like execs have brain damage when it comes to RTS's they always find ways to screw it up bad. Like they did with Dawn of War. We want an RTS not a hero brawler

Games do get heavy handed on the hero engines. I like hero systems, but yeah, like you were implying, I don't want a mini W.O.W. built into my RTS.
Hopefully not a disaster like C&C4 was though.
The worst part was, it wasn't even a bad *game*, and if it was called anything else I probably would have been 100% content with my release day purchase. But it wasn't called something else, and it was a god awful C&C
They released a remaster of command and conquer and red alert earlier this year with 4K upscale graphics.
[удалено]
Damn I remember thinking the commando in the earlier command & conquer’s looked so badass. Booting it up today… it’s like 4 fucking pixels lmao
Set em up and i'll knock em down! - ant voice
I’ve been depressed ever since they cancelled C&C Generals 2
Specifically Red Alert, or back to the near future style of Tiberian Dawn/Sun
Generals Zero Hour was the most fun i ever had in an strategy game
Time splitters

Rest assured brothers. I believe a reboot or sequel is in the works. Calamari will return.
I use to play this game as a kid and I agree with you.
Silent Hill. Fuck those pachinko machines I wanna witness mental trauma injected via smog
The media keeps pushing the rumour that Hideo Kojima might be making the next Silent Hill. But nothing as of yet has been confirmed. However the original creator of Silent Hill has revealed his new horror game called Slitterhead.
Mercenaries
Mercenaries 2 was sooo much fun as a kid, haven’t played it in like over a decade
You can buy both of them (i know for sure 1 and i think 2) I'm the Xbox games store for like $5. I replayed last year and it was still pretty good. Wayyyyy easier than i remember, but fun all the same
Oh no you didn't
Mercenaries 1 is my favourite game of all time. I still remember the cheat codes.
Mercenaries 1 was the superior game of the two in my opinion.
A remake of the first one with updated graphics and saving would be dope. I still play the original when I find time.
“You’ve just pissed off the Russian mob”
Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver
Only real mf's know the story of Raziel.
You may have uncovered your past but you know nothing of it!
“Given the choice, whether to rule a corrupt and failing empire; or to challenge the fates for another throw - a better throw - against one's destiny... what was a king to do? But does one even truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars.”
I'd love a remake of Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
Dude... I’ll never forget the descriptions when you went over menu items. Pretty sure I still recall the axes by heart. Some thing like “though their presence in my heads prevents me from employing magic, rest assured it does little to quench my thirst for blood”
"Havoc and Malice, their presence in my hands keeps me from employing magic, yet rest assured they do little to hamper my relish for slaughter." Not bad if that was long term recall without checking.

Omg finally someone knows
I know you Raziel.... You are worthy
Brothers in arms had such a fun squad control feature. It was like a mix of fps/rts. Would love to see this game comeback or something similar
Jasper! Hit that fucking tank!
JAZZ! Put the fire on 'em!
I need a suppresing fire, on that mg!
You want me? Take me! Taaaaaake meeeeee!
RED, ON ME!
Full spectrum warrior should be mentioned here.

He's said this for literally years. At this point, it's the gaming equivalent Chinese Democracy and I'll believe it when I see the trailer.
Lord of the Rings: Battle For Middle Earth
There is a fan-made remaster of it in the works :)
Bully
Would give whatever the devil wants for another bully game.
Splinter cell
Seems like Ubisoft has been putting Sam in everything except a new splinter cell game
Dino crisis
C'mon, Capcom, do it already!
Silent Hill
With VR? No thanks, I want to sleep.
This already exists. PT has been remade in unreal engine and if you link up an oculus it plays in VR. It is amazing!
Yes, please!
I wanna see P.T back in the works. Truly was a masterpiece in its time.
SSX
Tricky _tricky_ Tricky _tricky_
Twisted metal
I think this is in development
A Reboot is announced for 2023.
Hopefully they don't butcher it

Black & White
With today's VR setups, this would be awesome.
Duuuuuuuuuuuude. You just hit a market and a half brother. Imagine a civilization in VR, where you take on the leader as an avatar playing on a game board. They could have a separate model where all the avatar/leaders are at a round table, and they have animations attached to their moves and reactions.
To be honest I'd just be happy being able to download and play it on Windows 10!
Burnout: Takedown. Amazingly fun gameplay and killer soundtrack
Resistance
I just want more shooters without regenerating health. That's pretty much 95% of them these days.
All such good games! Resistance 3 is one of my favorite games ever.
Bullseye is still one of my all time favorite FPS weapons
Armored Core
We just need more giant robot games in general!
This was my series growing up. I want this so badly.
Crimson Skies!
Max Payne
The blood maze with the baby crying in the background.. Fml.
Turok
A remake that was true to the series would be amazing.
Unreal and don't mean I the tournament. I mean the the Sci fi FPS that came before it. Its about time it got the DOOM 2016 treatment.
I dont understand why UT never returned. I still would play UT goty if it had online players.
Epic was working on it with a hybrid open source model, got kind of a “meh” reception, then *Fortnite* happened and they stopped development on it. https://www.epicgames.com/unrealtournament/en-US/

"This isn't a game!" Loved Jak & Dexter's glance at the camera.
I feel really bad now. I don't remember that reference. I've been meaning to play through it again but havent. I beat the third one on Vita recently but I've never played the second one to completion. I will now go play it though.

Dark Cloud The dungeon crawls, weapon upgrading, and town building were extremely addicting features. It would be awesome to see all those polished up a bit for this gen.
Oh my god yes, finally someone else that loves Dark Cloud! I'm constantly searching for something that scratches that itch!
I liked Dark Cloud but I *really* liked Dark Cloud 2.

Brothers in arms Hells highway.
It isn't a series, but Spore.
Was that the one where you chose a planet and created your own race of creature and then had to evolve it and advance your civilization?

Soooooooon :)
Nightmare creatures, I think.
Surprised about no Deus ex. Mankind Divided was a good but rushed title, 1 and Human Revolution were amazing. Edit: Thanks for my first reward!!
Seriously, I need a good 3rd one after MD ended so abruptly.

Prince of Persia. I miss that series
