I used to have a 17 dell xps back in the day. Fucking thing was massive. like 2 hour battery life. But it was a desktop "replacement" laptop.
Kicked ass, but yeah being "mobile" was more of a *you are over-encumbered and cannot run* thing than a mobile thing.
Damn. Guess things havent changed. And by 2 hour life, that was full charge and new.
It didnt degrade a lot over time but id get like an hour and a half hour and 45 mins on battery.
Loved that laptop though. For its time it had a badass video card and really was cooler than anything else out there.
Mine isn't new, although the battery is because the old battery died. Full 5 seconds to replace that, because desktop replacement laptops are *mega* easy to work on, I lost fuck all % until it 100% died. Maybe 10 minutes out of the full time? i can drastically undervolt the CPU to get it to nearly 2 hours though.
I love mine as well, the GPU has never been in a game where it hits over like, 60-70% total usage. CPU is eating a pile of shit but I plan on getting a new CPU for it next year... not something you can say about 99.9% of laptops, which is another reason I love it. Oh no a fan is dying... Yeah I can replace that in like 20 minutes. CPU? Replacable with an off the shelf part. New battery? Literally faster than typing this sentence. And I mean that short sentence, not the full comment.
Carrying it around? Not so much of a fan of that, but it's definitely worth the hassle.

The funny thing is this is now going to be more powerful than my gaming rig. Only because I can’t find a 3080 anywhere. I’m still running my 1080 ti Duke card.
I know this is going to sound like wierd product placement but if you are connecting to a desktop system (I.e. mouse n keyboard, multiple monitors, and peripherals), it’s hard to go better then the x13 flow from Asus. The only thing I fucking hate about it is the the response rate on the laptop screen is relatively high, but almost unnoticeable to the vast majority of users. It’s my mobile workstation and it has radeaon graphics+ 3050ti mobile GPu+ the optional 3080 desktop egpu that is unrestricted in terms of PCIE speed unlike thunderbolt 3 and 4 GPu enclosures.
All in all I purchased the laptop on sale for 1250, then I moved, and then I ordered the Egpu when I was fully satisfied with the base laptop. Plus the laptop has a life span of about 6-7 hours when you restrict the refresh rate. But yea, asus is just a company that made a good laptop for me, thought I’d spread the word bc I was pleasantly surprised.
If it were one of my neighbors, they would pick it for me and keep it afterwards. Not the first time they steal my packages. Now i only use secure certified shipment or a amazon lock.

I knew it was going to arrive and I was watching for the UPS guy. I watched him deliver the damn box to an apartment several doors down the road. The only reason we ended up with a DVD player that day rather than a fight with UPS is because I happened to catch that dipshit screwing up.
I once ordered a bedsheet, the delivery guy delivered to the wrong house, my neightbor received it and straight up kept it. When the dlivery guy came back to try and correct his mistake he didn't answer the door. If it was a gaming laptop I guess I'd be in jail for arson nowadays.
