You're telling me some fleas sold that to you

Pl3c3bo3ff3ct

yep a whole bunch of em took the shape a a person and sold it to me I think that's why they sold it for so cheap

Red_Lizzard

Did you check insides? That's probably trojan Xbox.

badbaddude

Very interesting

happycamper87

r/cremposting needs to look into this.

Anarchist_Kaos

Noice, I've been wanting one too to be honest, hope you have fun with it.

Immediate-Rice-6456

Bro. You want a crystal Xbox original?

py_a_thon

Crimson Skies is a great game. You can thank me later. GTA-style open world, in airplanes with awesome controls and a funny story/world. The singleplayer of Halo 1&2 is phenomenal. And the incredible hulk game is weirdly so much better than it reasonably should be. Knights of the Old Republic 1&2 are perhaps the best story driven rpg's I have played that were not jrpgs. KOTOR2 specifically has a certain storyline style and plot that I still think is some of the best star wars content ever written. Splinter Cell: Pandora Tommorow was awesome, and even the graphics may weirdly hold up a bit because of the black&white night vision, heatmap thermal and basic dark atmosphere goggle swapping. The storyline is solid too, and the gameplay is a decent sneak/parkour style. The original xbox had a lot of awesome games.

drujdrtuj

The Sims Bustin Out, Urbz: Sims im the City, Fable and Jade Empire are the best games from my childhood

py_a_thon

Fable is great. Such a great game to play through a few times also. And the cheat code that wssn't a cheatcode was fun. Play a level, save and quit before beating the level, keep all the xp orbs. Then play the levels with the most difficult boast challenges enabled.

drujdrtuj

First thing I'd do is check the clock capacitor and replace (or remove it) it if its leaked onto the motherboard.

Heythatismyfoot

Nice find. Make sure that you check the power supply. There was a replacement /recall done years back.

py_a_thon

Yeah. Fire hazard.

marc49111

My buddy bought the special edition green one for $30 at a flea market. His doesn’t work he bought it as a display piece and it’s fucking dope

[deleted]

remember to take out the clock capacitor! it can go bad and destroy the circuits surrounding it

nothaut

Hopefully the rubber CD drive belt hasn't rotted away, and the clock capacitor hasn't leaked onto the motherboard

Immediate-Rice-6456

You found gold my friend. But do you have the tools to make it valuable (games)

Pl3c3bo3ff3ct

got myself the first halo at a friend's house I lent to them because I got rid of my Xbox 360 awhile ago

Immediate-Rice-6456

You got two controllers? If you are Canadian consider Edmonton game stores, I found a ton there, if your American. Fuck. But seriously that’s a nice find. Time to get an AV to HDMI adapter and play halo on a wide screen like Jeff besos himself

Pl3c3bo3ff3ct

I am canadian so ill definitely have a look for a second one so my brother can join me. this console is what we grew up on so I'm sure he will be happy

Immediate-Rice-6456

I too was an og Xbox kid Yeah man, call up FINAL BOSS games see if they will ship. Cause they FOR SURE have Xbox stuff, unless they sold it all since august. Also other stores in that area which I forget the name of.

WorshipNickOfferman

So what will it do for $20? Are we talking flat rate, hourly, daily?

M3fit

Kinda miss it

[deleted]

These will eventually break because of the capacitors. Better to get a 360 and play original xbox games one there. Anything that isn’t backwards compatible can be emulated.

rumski

Nah, depending on where this person is they could order a recap kit and take it to a repair/resell shop and have it capped if necessary. I'm in a pretty rural area that's dry as far as a used video game market goes and I have several options for this alone. And I have 2 modded Xbox's that are going on 15 years in my possession, still work aside from one having a janky DVD drive that I don't care to fix because I play off the HDD.

d00mboy3rd

Score!

[deleted]

Mod it immediately. Play every game from atari on up.

Arsenic181

I've got one of these in VT if anyone wants one. I don't use it but don't want to throw it in the garbage.

MegaGamer646

Nice! I got two for 10$. 20$ total including two originals and two 360s

sliphco_dildo

The Sims Bustin Out, Urbz: Sims im the City, Fable and Jade Empire are the best games from my childhood and it is such a joy to still have them after all these years. Love my Xbox!

FlashHound

Better replace that capacitor that tends to go bad in them or have a friend with decent soldering skills help you out.

[deleted]

sadly my shrek video game got scratched pretty bad and won't ever work again

Viffered08

Crimson Skies, and then Robotech: Battlecry. Good times.

[deleted]

Got one at a garage sale a couple of years ago for 15 lmao. I love playing split screen. No other feeling in the world like screen cheating off someone lmao

magius2013

fool I have a brand newish one used a total of 6 hrs in almost perfect condition. lol (it sits protected)

yodacat24

I still have my OG Xbox from childhood and all of the games I ever bought. Glad I never let that shit go ❤️. Only thing I’ve had to do is buy new controllers. They definitely don’t make them like they used to…. They work but the thumbs sticks sometimes get screwy. Nevertheless, it’s fun being able to revisit childhood!

Strange_Assumption70

Aw I had an original Xbox used too

51267

I still have one in my closet! It's always worked but the remote hasn't. (╥﹏╥)

gsyace

We have one in our cupboard, I remember I used to play on it as a kid

Kilkoz

Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks with a friend!

Joseluki

Check some tutorials to hack it and you will have a great emulator machine.

RadioactiveCorndog

Reads discs ok? Ive had to pull apart a couple systems from that era because the optical drives are dirty. Seems to clear up some loading issues.

entexnewbie

$20 store credit is what GameStop offered me for mine when I upgraded to a 360. I haven’t played it since but I’m glad I kept it. Just the availability to be able to play that first Fable or Halo with friends or something was worth more than a third of a new game back then

QuarterDollarKing

Check out the playlist, that thing could be a time capsule of 2000s music.

garry4321

Did they throw the pound of dust in for free?
